Takubo Yuta works as a drama director at a TV station and has achieved his dream, but he is very busy with work. His former passion has disappeared, and he is living an unstable life, getting irritated all the time. Meanwhile, Sato Kosuke, who was supposed to be doing well as a chef, quietly quit his job and is now living a NEET life.

The two meet again when their old friendfrom high school, Makita Aoi, gets divorced. Then, after a certain incident, they start to just eat dinner together. Through these "dinner activities" (bankatsu), Yuta and Kosuke recover their hearts and get back to their true selves.
