Summary of A Dream of Splendor (2022)

Zhao Pan Er, a sharp-witted and resourceful teahouse owner in Qiantang, lives a peaceful life alongside her two closest friends, Sun San Niang and Song Yin Zhang. But when she learns that her fiancé has abandoned her for a woman of higher status after securing a prestigious position in the Capital of Bian Jing, she refuses to accept this betrayal. Determined to uncover the truth, she embarks on a daring journey to the Capital.

Along the way, she reunites with her two friends, saving them from peril, and they join her quest. Meanwhile, Gu Qian Fan, a feared commander of an elite Capital squadron known as the "Living Devil," finds himself entangled in a web of deception and betrayal within the imperial court. Though their initial encounter with Zhao Pan Er is fraught with tension, the intelligent and determined businesswoman quickly captures his attention. As they navigate their respective quests for truth, they find their paths increasingly intertwined.

Once in the Capital, Zhao Pan Er, her loyal friends, and Gu Qian Fan must face numerous trials, both together and apart. Through their unwavering strength, mutual care, and relentless perseverance, they strive to transform a small teahouse into the most successful restaurant in Bian Jing. But beyond their business ambitions, each of them yearns for love and a happy ending. Will their courage and determination lead them to the future they so desperately seek?
