When the most dutiful of the third generation, Li Yijin, defies the family tradition to spend the holiday with her boyfriend, it sends shockwaves through the family.

Qiao Haiyun, the matriarch, has three daughters, each with their own struggles and secrets. The eldest, Meng Ming Wei, is not Qiao Haiyun’s biological daughter, and her deep-seated feelings of inadequacy fuel her relentless ambition for her own daughter, Li Yijin, straining their relationship to the breaking point. The second daughter, Meng Wan Qing, shares a seemingly perfect bond with her own daughter, Tao Shuna, until a startling discovery reveals hidden truths that force them to see each other—and themselves—in a new light. The youngest, Meng Yian, fiercely independent and strong-willed like her mother, vows not to follow in Qiao Haiyun’s footsteps, yet fate leads her down the very same path.
