On May 27, his agency Bless ENT confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating, “Actor Choi Jung-woo has left this world. The exact cause of death is unknown, and there were no signs of chronic illness.”
The sudden nature of his passing has left fans and fellow industry professionals stunned, especially since Choi had remained active and dedicated to his craft until very recently. Just last year, he delivered a memorable and emotionally resonant performance in the Disney+ drama "Call It Love", where his nuanced, understated acting quietly became the soul of the series.
Choi Jung-woo first took to the stage in 1975 with the play The Life of an Actor and began his mainstream journey as a voice actor in 1980 for Tongyang Broadcasting Company.
