Kim Sae Ron, who debuted in 2009 with A Brand New Life, was widely recognized for her roles in films like The Man from Nowhere and The Neighbor, as well as the Netflix series Bloodhounds. While she had planned a return to acting with the theatrical play Dongchimi in 2024, she later withdrew due to health concerns.

Her passing comes after a period of self-reflection following a DUI incident in 2022, for which she was fined 20 million won. Despite stepping back from the industry, fans had hoped to see her back on screen in the near future.
