Cha Eun Woo Opens Up About Exhaustion on 'Rented in Finland': "I Feel Guilty, But I'm Too Tired to Do Anything
Cha Eun Woo, the heartthrob of ASTRO and a rising star in K-dramas, showed a rare vulnerable side on the latest episode of tvN's Rented in Finland. The idol-actor admitted to feeling physically drained, confessing that his usual two-hour workout routine had taken a backseat during the filming in Lapland, Finland.
“I feel guilty for not exercising,” Eun Woo shared, “but by the time I have the energy to feel guilty, I’m too tired to do anything.”
The show, which also stars Lee Jae Hoon, Lee Dong Hwi, and Kwak Dong Yeon, immerses the cast in the remote, self-sufficient lifestyle of rural Finland. Stripped of modern conveniences like electricity and the internet, the actors must adapt to a slower, more physically demanding pace of life, offering a refreshing glimpse into their off-screen personas.
In this episode, the group arrived at their Finnish host Oiva’s home—a charming, rustic setup with a single room and a tree tent suspended in mid-air. While Eun Woo and Lee Jae Hoon worked together to assemble the tree tent, they joked about leaving it for their co-stars Lee Dong Hwi and Kwak Dong Yeon, who were busy fishing at Oiva’s private lake.
As they tackled their outdoor tasks, Kwak Dong Yeon quipped about Finland’s unique midnight sun: “Don’t you feel sorry for Finnish actors? They can shoot daylight scenes until 10 p.m., but they can’t finish work until the sun sets!”
The group later gathered for a traditional Finnish fish dinner before settling into their sleeping arrangements. While Dong Hwi and Dong Yeon braved the outdoor sleeping area, Eun Woo and Jae Hoon decided to share the cozy tree tent.
Eun Woo’s candid admission of his physical exhaustion and struggle to maintain his routine struck a chord with viewers. His honesty offered a rare glimpse into the challenges faced by the cast as they adapt to Finland’s demanding yet serene lifestyle.
Fans praised the episode for its authenticity and for showcasing the cast’s camaraderie in overcoming the challenges of rural life. Rented in Finland continues to provide not only picturesque views of Lapland but also heartfelt moments that resonate with audiences worldwide.
