Choi Woo Shik & Jung So Min’s New Rom-Com Would You Marry Me? Drops This October on Disney+
Get ready, drama fans... romance, comedy, and a dash of chaos are about to hit our screens this fall. Choi Woo Shik (Our Beloved Summer, Parasite) and Jung So Min (Because This Is My First Life, Alchemy of Souls) are teaming up in the brand-new K-drama Would You Marry Me?, officially confirmed to premiere this October on Disney+ and Hulu (select regions).
What’s the Drama About?
The story follows Kim Woo Ju (played by Choi Woo Shik), the fourth-generation heir of Korea’s most iconic bakery, Myungsoondang. Woo Ju’s life takes a turn when he ends up in a contract marriage with Yoo Me Ri (Jung So Min), a talented designer who’s been burned by both love and real estate scams.
After catching her fiancé cheating and losing her home to a fraudulent lease, Me Ri takes matters into her own hands, proposing a fake marriage to Woo Ju in hopes of winning the ultimate prize: a luxury newlywed house. But of course, in K-drama land, fake marriages are never simple…
Choi Woo Shik shared, “I hope we can happily complete filming all the way to the end. I’ll work hard.”
Meanwhile, Jung So Min added, “I hope no one gets hurt until the end, and that we can finish everything safely.”
The Star-Studded Cast
The drama doesn’t stop with the leads. Supporting roles promise plenty of tension, comedy, and family drama:
-
Bae Na Ra as Baek Sang Hyeon, a department store exec who keeps a close eye on the “newlyweds.”
-
Shin Seul Ki as Yun Jin Gyeong, a family doctor and Woo Ju’s so-called soulmate.
-
Seo Bum June as another Kim Woo Ju, Me Ri’s ex-fiancé (yes, the drama writes itself).
-
Jung Ae Ri as Ko Pil Nyeon, Woo Ju’s grandmother and bakery chairwoman.
-
Kim Young Min as Jang Han Gu, Woo Ju’s uncle.
-
Baek Ji Won as Woo Ju’s aunt Kim Mi Yeon.

Behind the scenes, we’ve got a powerhouse creative team: directors Song Hyun Wook (The Golden Spoon, Another Miss Oh) and Hwang In Hyeok (Doctor Prisoner), with the screenplay penned by Lee Ha Na (Rookie Cops).
Why Fans Are Hyped
Choi Woo Shik and Jung So Min are both beloved for their natural chemistry on screen, and the premise of a fake marriage turning into something real is classic K-drama gold. With Disney+ backing the global release, Would You Marry Me? is shaping up to be one of this fall’s most talked-about premieres.
