The long and painful legal battle surrounding OMEGA X has taken a major step forward. On May 7 KST, media reports confirmed that the former director of SPIRE Entertainment, referred to as ‘A’, has been formally forwarded to prosecution on charges of molesting six members of the boy group during their time under her management.

This marks a crucial moment of justice for the group, who first filed their lawsuit in August 2023—accusing the former executive of sexual misconduct and workplace harassment during their 2022 Latin American tour. According to statements, A allegedly linked arms with members and embraced them inappropriately while intoxicated. One member even reported that she touched his thigh during a meeting earlier that year.

While police dropped charges involving member Hwichan due to lack of sufficient evidence, the confirmation that A will face prosecution for offenses involving six other members has been met with widespread support from fans and advocacy groups calling for safer treatment of idols.

But that’s not all. A is also heading to trial in July over a separate assault case involving member Jaehan, who alleged she violently pulled him by the hood, throwing him to the ground at a hotel lobby in October 2022. Though A was previously fined 500,000 KRW, she rejected the ruling—demanding a full trial.

đŸ’¥ OMEGA X’s New Era Begins

In the wake of the abuse and legal turmoil, OMEGA X terminated their contract with SPIRE Entertainment in 2023and signed with a new agency, IPQ, signaling a fresh chapter. Since then, the group has slowly been rebuilding their image, continuing to promote and connect with fans who have stood firmly by their side through the ordeal.

The situation has reignited conversations around idol safety, power abuse in K-pop management, and the need for structural reform in entertainment agencies. As the legal proceedings continue, fans and the public alike are watching closely—hoping not only for justice but for lasting change in how idols are protected behind the scenes.

Stay tuned for more updates as the July trial approaches. In the meantime, OMEGA X continues their journey—this time on their own terms. đŸ’ª
