Actress Seo Ye-ji is taking a firm stand against online harassment. On January 9, her agency, Sublime, announced that they had filed criminal complaints against more than 130 individuals for posting defamatory comments and malicious rumors targeting the actress.

In an official statement, Sublime revealed their proactive approach to addressing the situation:

"We recently organized a dedicated monitoring team to track malicious posts across online communities, social media platforms, and portal sites. With the assistance of a legal firm, we have filed the first round of complaints against over 130 malicious commenters, and investigations are currently underway."

The agency further emphasized their commitment to Seo Ye-ji’s protection, stating that they will continue to monitor online platforms and respond to harmful content without leniency.

This legal move comes as Seo Ye-ji continues to navigate the fallout from controversies dating back to 2021, including accusations of gaslighting her former partner, actor Kim Jung-hyun, claims of school bullying, and allegations of falsifying her academic background. Despite these challenges, Seo Ye-ji has remained steadfast in her career, with Sublime backing her against baseless rumors.

The timing of this lawsuit coincides with a recent incident involving Kim Jung-hyun, who publicly apologized to his 2018 Time co-star Seohyun at the 2024 KBS Drama Awards for his past behavior during the drama's press conference. This apology reignited discussions about the controversies surrounding Seo Ye-ji, resulting in a new wave of malicious comments directed at her.

As the investigations progress, fans have praised Seo Ye-ji’s decision to take legal action, applauding her determination to hold online bullies accountable. This bold step serves as a powerful message that malicious behavior online won’t go unchecked.
