Yoo Ah In Set for Big-Screen Comeback with The Match—First Project Since Legal Battle
After months of legal troubles and a lengthy hiatus, Yoo Ah In is officially returning to the big screen with the highly anticipated Go-themed film The Match!
On February 19, the production team behind The Match finally dropped the official trailer, confirming its release on March 26. The film, directed by Kim Hyung Joo, stars Lee Byung Hun as legendary Go master Cho Hun Hyun, and Yoo Ah In as his prodigy-turned-rival, Lee Chang Ho.
Other notable cast members include Go Chang Seok, Hyun Bong Sik, Moon Jeong Hee, and Kim Kang Hoon. While Yoo Ah In does not appear in the trailer, he had already completed filming alongside Lee Byung Hun before his legal issues surfaced.

Yoo Ah In’s Legal Issues and Release from Detention ⚖️
🔹 The actor was detained for five months following charges of habitual drug use, including propofol abuse (181 times!) and cannabis use.
🔹 On February 18, the appellate court sentenced Yoo to a one-year prison term, suspended for two years, with a fine of 2 million KRW ($1,380).
🔹 His suspended sentence led to his immediate release, allowing him to return to his professional life.
While there has been no official statement from Yoo Ah In regarding his return to the entertainment industry, The Matchwill undoubtedly mark his first on-screen appearance since the controversy.
