Meanwhile, the parents go through a series of life changes, including family crises and restructuring.

Guan Ai Ping, a strong-willed woman, raises Xiao Han on her own after being laid off. "Small business owner" Zhang Qi Ming learns to get along with his mischievous son Maotou and, after many ups and downs, reconstitutes a family with Guan Ai Ping. Despite changing times, the warmth of family love and the neighborly care in the community remain constant.
