In the tumultuous Republican Era, Shen Zhi Heng, a legendary vampire whose century-long life is steeped in secrets, narrowly escapes an assassination attempt orchestrated by corrupt soldiers. His salvation comes from an unexpected source: Mi Lan, a blind girl with a tragic past, and his loyal friend, Dr. Situ Wei Lian. Moved by Mi Lan’s suffering at home, Shen Zhi Heng, once a solitary figure, finds himself drawn to her plight and begins to offer her protection and care.

As the assassination plot unravels, Li Ying Liang, the ruthless head of the military operations department, becomes obsessed with uncovering Shen Zhi Heng's dark secret. Together with his equally nefarious superior, they scheme to dominate and corrupt every sector of power to hide their own transgressions.

As Shen Zhi Heng delves deeper into the mysteries of his vampiric existence and Mi Lan seeks purpose amidst her own despair, their lives become increasingly entangled.
