Dear X – Episode 3 Recap: Breaking The Shackles With A Sacrifice

Episode 3 opens with Ah-jin noticing a man effortlessly taking down a thief on the street. Enter Choi Jung-ho, a retired baseball player, who immediately piques her interest. Right before chaos unfolds, Joon-seo’s voiceover reminds us that Ah-jin is about to “open the gates of hell.” Soon enough, she lands a part-time job at Jung-ho’s café, and word spreads fast, her beauty doesn’t go unnoticed, and photos of her start going viral.

Ah-jin also learns about Jung-ho’s past injury caused by a player named Kwak Eun-hyeok and observes him navigating a potential new contract with a sports agency. Meanwhile, Ah-jin’s stalkers are increasing, and she proves she’s no damsel in distress, armed with a rock and plenty of nerve, she confronts one of them head-on, while Joon-seo swoops in to help in his own careful, protective way.

Ah-jin’s father, Sun-gyu, remains a constant threat. When he tries to extort her, Ah-jin uses her cunning and bravery to manipulate the situation, luring him to her apartment where she sets up a confrontation. Jung-ho gets involved, leading to a shocking scene where Sun-gyu ends up dead. The episode closes with Ah-jin calling 911 with a chilling mix of fear and triumph, showing us just how far she’ll go to protect herself and those she cares about.

Dear X – Episode 4 Recap: Three Blows to the Head

Episode 4 picks up immediately after the shocking events of the previous episode. Sun-gyu’s death leaves a mess of confusion, and Ah-jin takes charge, carefully crafting the story she tells the police. Using her quick thinking, she manipulates the situation so that she appears as a victim, while Jung-ho and Joon-seo quietly ensure that justice is served without implicating her.

The episode explores Ah-jin’s resourcefulness and ability to stay one step ahead, even when the stakes are life and death. Bribed detectives, hidden evidence, and clever deception all highlight how dangerous and intelligent she is. The episodes close with Ah-jin stepping fully into her new life as a rising actress, while Jung-ho watches her from behind bars, a silent reminder of the chaos she leaves in her wake.

Episodes 3 and 4 of Dear X take the tension, suspense, and high-stakes drama to a whole new level. Ah-jin continues to prove she’s a master strategist; clever, fearless, and willing to do whatever it takes to protect herself. From confronting stalkers to manipulating her abusive father, and orchestrating a jaw-dropping confrontation that ends in Sun-gyu’s death, these episodes show just how resourceful and daring she can be.

Joon-seo’s loyalty is more evident than ever. Even as he questions her methods, he stays by her side, covering for her and making sure she survives the fallout of her own schemes. Meanwhile, the looming presence of Mi-ri offers Ah-jin fame and power, but with strings attached, creating a thrilling tension between ambition and personal connections.

These episodes are a perfect blend of suspense, clever manipulation, and emotional stakes. If you love morally grey heroes, intricate plans, and the kind of drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat, Ah-jin’s journey in Episodes 3 and 4 is absolutely unmissable.
