Shang Yi Zhi, the son of the Grand Princess, hides his true identity behind the facade of a carefree playboy, while A Mai, the daughter of the Duke of Jingguo from Southern Xia, disguises herself as a man, driven by a burning desire for revenge. As a child, A Mai witnessed her entire family slaughtered by her once-beloved foster brother, Chen Qi, and has since sworn to avenge their deaths.

Their destinies collide when A Mai saves Shang Yi Zhi from certain doom, and the two find themselves repeatedly drawn together in a web of danger and intrigue. As war looms, they both join the military—Shang Yi Zhi rising to the rank of general, while A Mai, starting as a mere infantry soldier, ascends through the ranks with her extraordinary skills.

On the battlefield, A Mai faces off against the formidable General Chang Yu Qing from the enemy forces. Despite their fierce clashes, a grudging respect and understanding begin to form between them, forged in the fires of life-and-death struggles.
