Love Your Enemy- Episodes 9-10
Love Your Enemy turned the drama up to eleven this week, packing in family feuds, romantic hurdles, and a satisfying dose of justice. With our Ji-wons learning that dating openly is just as chaotic as dating in secret, the penultimate episodes delivered all the tension, sweetness, and hilarious hijinks we could ask for. Here’s everything that went down:
Secret Dating? Over. Public Dating? Worse.
Our Ji-wons are now officially dating, and the world (well, their nosy colleagues) just can’t get enough. From catching them on a not-so-stealthy date to pestering them with marriage talk, the teachers are hilariously over-invested in their romance. The small-town vibe cranks up the nosy neighbor trope, making their newfound relationship both heartwarming and a lot to handle. When Yoon Ji-won admits she hasn’t thought about marriage, Seok Ji-won starts to wonder if she trusts him enough—cue unnecessary relationship drama. Guys, chill. You literally just got together.
Tae-ho and Hae-su’s Father-Daughter Reveal
The “illicit relationship” rumors between nurse Tae-ho and student Hae-su hit a boiling point after Hae-su fights a transfer student. The vice principal, already biased against Tae-ho, jumps to the worst conclusions without letting him explain. Thankfully, Soo-ah steps in to defend him, and Tae-ho finally drops the bombshell: Hae-su is his daughter. Turns out, they only recently discovered their connection and kept it a secret to avoid disrupting her school life. The reveal is emotional, and Yoon Ji-won’s advice to Soo-ah to talk things out with Tae-ho leads to a sweet moment of growth for their budding romance.
Family Feuds and Golf Course Drama
Daddy Seok’s plans to privatize a major road for his precious golf course hit a snag when Grandpa Yoon kicks back hard. Seok Ji-won sides with Grandpa Yoon, further straining his relationship with his father. Daddy Seok retaliates by demanding his son step down from the school board and return to HQ in Seoul. Meanwhile, Grandpa Yoon’s faith in Kyung-hoon shatters when the latter subtly sides with Daddy Seok, leaving Grandpa Yoon clutching his chest in distress.
As if that weren’t enough, Kyung-hoon breaks the news of the Ji-wons’ relationship to Grandpa Yoon. But instead of flying into a full rage, Grandpa Yoon has a change of heart when he sees Seok Ji-won gazing lovingly at Yoon Ji-won. He reluctantly approves the relationship—though with strict rules, including never being alone in the house together. Grandpa, please. You’re killing the romance here.
A Mother’s Wisdom and Daddy Seok’s Hypocrisy
Seok Ji-won finally tells his father about his relationship, earning a slap for his troubles. Daddy Seok’s rage is next-level, but his wife drops a shocking reveal: back in the day, her father also disapproved of their marriage. Daddy Seok even suggested eloping! Hypocrite much? Mommy Seok encourages Seok Ji-won to give Yoon Ji-won the same reassurance she received—leading to a touching moment of motherly support.
Yoon Ji-won’s Past Comes Back to Haunt Her
The transfer student’s father storms the school, and it’s none other than Yoon Ji-won’s former CEO—the predator who harassed her colleague, sued her for standing up to him, and mocked her at her parents’ funeral. When Yoon Ji-won avoids him, she feels like she’s betraying her younger, fiercer self. But Seok Ji-won assures her that she’s just as brave as ever, loving her for who she is now. This leads to a heartfelt reveal: it was Seok Ji-won who saved her and Moon-soo on the rooftop that day, a fact she finally learns in this episode.
Yoon Ji-won eventually confronts the CEO, shutting him down with poise and confidence. When he tries to hit her, Seok Ji-won rushes in with a chef’s kiss punch, sending the man tumbling. Watching the teachers “accidentally” trip him on his way out? Iconic. Justice is served.
The Proposal That Never Happens
Seok Ji-won spends the entire week trying (and failing) to propose. Every attempt is hilariously thwarted—whether by Grandpa Yoon insisting they stay for dinner or Seok Ji-won’s secretary being left alone with the grand proposal setup. The secretary’s dejected look at the empty restaurant was a highlight of the week. Seriously, this guy deserves an award for stealing every scene he’s in.
DramaZen's Opinion
Let me tell you, this week had me squealing, cheering, and side-eyeing every shady character in Love Your Enemy. It’s not just the romance that has me hooked—it’s the layers of family drama, betrayal, and schemes that keep building. Let’s talk about how this week wrapped up with a mix of sweetness and impending chaos:
The highlight of the week? Seok Ji-won hiding in the attic to avoid breaking Grandpa Yoon’s strict “never be alone at home with Yoon Ji-won” rule. I was laughing and swooning when Yoon Ji-won joined him after Grandpa left. And then… THE PROPOSAL.
Seok Ji-won was all Shakespearean drama, nervously rambling about life and love, while Yoon Ji-won had already seen the ring and was just waiting for him to get to the point. Her no-nonsense “Let’s get married. I’ll make you happy for the rest of your life” was perfection. Like, girl knows what she wants! The ring exchange, the kiss—it all had me grinning like a fool. These two are SO in love, and it’s everything I’ve been rooting for since day one.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Love Your Enemy without some scheming in the background, and this week, Kyung-hoon truly showed his true colors. Not only has he been embezzling from the school (disgusting!), but I’m almost certain he shifted the blame to Yoon Ji-won’s dad all those years ago. If he had anything to do with the accident that killed her parents? I can’t even imagine how devastating that will be for her and Grandpa Yoon.
Seok Ji-won, ever the hero, has already started an investigation into the school accounts. The man isn’t just a dreamy romantic lead—he’s also out here exposing corruption like the boss he is. Kyung-hoon’s days are clearly numbered, and I CANNOT wait to see him get what he deserves.
As if Kyung-hoon’s antics weren’t enough, he had the audacity to team up with Daddy Seok, playing on his disapproval of the Ji-wons’ relationship. His suggestion to send Seok Ji-won abroad to “break them up” had me shouting at my screen. Like, we’re in the final stretch, and you’re still trying to sabotage their happiness? The audacity! But honestly, who even believes in the power of noble idiocy in this day and age? Not me. I’m rebuking any and all breakup vibes for our Ji-wons.
The drama is ending next week, which means Kyung-hoon’s schemes are about to crash and burn. And I, for one, will be front and center with my popcorn to watch his downfall. Will Daddy Seok finally learn the meaning of “support your son”? Will Grandpa Yoon fully accept the Ji-wons’ relationship? And most importantly, will we get a big, happy wedding to wrap it all up?
This week had me laughing, blushing, and shouting, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If Love Your Enemy has taught us anything, it’s that true love (and justice) always prevails. Bring on the finale! πΈπ
