Actor Dong Ha Returns to the Screen After Addressing School Violence Allegations
Actor Dong Ha is stepping back into the spotlight after a four-year hiatus following allegations of school violence. His comeback film, Cornell’s Box, directed by Lee Hyun Ji, is set for release on January 8. Dong Ha takes on the role of Tae Yi, marking his return to the industry and igniting curiosity among fans and critics alike.
Dong Ha, born in 1992, first made waves in the acting world with his debut in the 2009 KBS drama The Accidental Couple. He later gained fame through standout performances in popular series like KBS2’s Good Manager (2016), SBS’s Suspicious Partner, Judge vs. Judge, and KBS2’s Homemade Love Story. However, his rising career took a hit in 2021 when allegations of school violence surfaced online.
At the time, Dong Ha strongly denied the claims, stating, “This is not true. I plan to take legal action.” In September 2022, he reiterated his innocence, saying, “I have never inflicted physical or mental harm on any fellow student,” while filing a defamation lawsuit against the anonymous accuser. The case was eventually closed due to the deletion of the original post and the inability to identify the individual behind it.
Dong Ha began his journey back to the entertainment industry last July by signing an exclusive contract with Empathy Entertainment, debuting a fresh profile image and signaling his readiness to move forward.
Cornell’s Box not only marks a new chapter for Dong Ha’s career but also serves as a testament to his resilience amidst controversy. As fans anticipate his return, the industry watches closely to see how this talented actor reclaims his place on screen.
