Actress Gong Hyo Jin recently delighted fans with a heartfelt and humorous recount of her proposal story during her guest appearance on the YouTube variety show Zzanbro, alongside her When the Stars Gossip co-star, Lee Min Ho. The actress, who is currently a “Gom-shin” (a term for someone in a relationship with a military service member), opened up about the romantic way her now-husband, singer Kevin Oh, asked her to marry him.

Gong shared, "He asked me to go for a walk with the dog near the Bukhan River. He said he’d bought a moving camera and wanted to test it by filming me. I thought it was just a regular day, but suddenly he asked, ‘Will you marry me?’ There was no ring, so I told him to do it again later. Honestly, I was a little disappointed."

But Kevin Oh wasn’t done. Gong Hyo Jin revealed how he turned things around: "When we got home, he had prepared a surprise. He scattered flower petals and placed 10 cards with a story leading up to the house. As I read them one by one, I started crying. He’s really good at writing. Each card had photos of us and told a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end."

She continued, "When I opened the door to the house, he was waiting with the ring. Turns out, the earlier ‘disappointing’ proposal was part of the plan. I cried a lot when I saw the ring."
