The accident left Lee Min Ho with severe injuries, including a fractured thigh bone and torn cartilage, requiring him to remain hospitalized for nearly a year. "It was a fatal accident that even made the local news in Gangwon Province," Lee Min Ho recalled during the show. "I spent almost a year lying in a hospital bed."

His friend Jung Il Woo also suffered serious injuries, including a brain aneurysm, which required an extended recovery period. Reflecting on the experience, Lee Min Ho shared, "We were both just 20 years old, a time when you’re filled with dreams and eager to chase your aspirations as an adult. And then, suddenly, everything came to a halt. I went through denial, anger, depression, and eventually, acceptance."

At the time of the accident, Lee Min Ho had just wrapped up filming for the EBS drama Secret Campus and was starting to carve out a space for himself in the entertainment industry.
