We begin right where we left off, with Prince Yi-an and Hui-ju sharing that passionate kiss on the yacht. The moment clearly leaves a lasting impression on both of them, though they react very differently afterward. Yi-an spends the night replaying the kiss in his mind with the softest smile, while Hui-ju completely spirals in embarrassment, convinced she may have crossed some invisible line.

Things only get more awkward when they return home and the staff immediately grow suspicious about where the couple disappeared to. Both of them clumsily deny doing anything special, which honestly just makes them look guiltier.

That night, Yi-an quietly visits Hui-ju’s room, but she pretends not to hear him because she simply cannot face him after what happened. The tension between them the next morning is almost unbearable. Hui-ju tries to avoid him on her way to work, only to trip and fall directly into his arms. Fate truly refuses to give her a break.

Unable to stop thinking about the kiss, Hui-ju reaches peak panic mode and visits a church asking for an exorcism because surely there must be something wrong with her for reacting this way. It’s one of the funniest moments of the episode, especially because her emotional crisis only grows from there.

Meanwhile, Prince Yi-an’s jealousy starts bubbling the second he hears Jeong-woo’s voice while calling Hui-ju about wedding preparations. Jeong-woo himself notices how close Hui-ju and Yi-an are becoming and gently warns her not to get emotionally attached, reminding her that their contract marriage still has an expiration date. Even so, it’s obvious that Hui-ju’s feelings are no longer as simple as she wants them to be.

Back at work, Hui-ju continues proving herself as a capable leader by reorganizing responsibilities within the company. Her decision to hand away Tae-joo’s shares completely shocks him, but Hui-ju hopes it will eventually prove that she is the most qualified person to lead.

At the palace, wedding preparations move forward smoothly, though Prince Yi-an secretly chooses a wedding date farther away because he wants more time with Hui-ju before reality catches up to them.

The couple’s wedding fitting gives us another wave of adorable tension. Hui-ju gets flustered every time Yi-an casually touches her, especially when he gently brushes her hair behind her ear. The awkwardness somehow becomes even worse during their medical examination when Court Lady Jin-sook brings up consummating the marriage. Hui-ju’s racing heartbeat completely gives her away.

But the most emotional moment comes afterward when Yi-an finally addresses the kiss directly. Hui-ju tries to brush it off, claiming it was simply a moment that could have happened with anyone. Unfortunately for her, Yi-an completely destroys that argument by softly confessing that for him, it only could have happened with her.

And just when the romance is soaring, the palace secrets grow darker.

Prince Yi-an discovers a partially burned royal decree left behind by the late king. The document reveals that the king once intended to pass the throne to Yi-an instead. Combined with the flashbacks of Yi-rang destroying the original decree, suspicion surrounding the king’s death grows even stronger.

The family dinner scene brings even more emotional chaos. Hui-ju’s father suddenly acts caring and asks Yi-an to love his daughter, which only enrages Hui-ju because of his years of hypocrisy. She storms out, but Yi-an follows her and comforts her in one of the sweetest scenes yet.

Then comes the confession.

Prince Yi-an openly admits that he likes Hui-ju.

Not as part of a contract. Not as an arrangement. Not because it’s politically convenient. He simply likes her.

Hui-ju is completely caught off guard, but deep down, she can no longer deny that she feels the same way. Even so, Yi-an still promises to honor their future divorce agreement, adding a bittersweet layer to the entire moment.

The palace is filled with excitement, the ceremony is beautiful, and Prince Yi-an looks genuinely happiest whenever he’s beside Hui-ju. For a brief moment, everything feels perfect. The public adores them, the palace staff warmly celebrate them, and it almost feels like the couple has finally earned a peaceful beginning.

But Perfect Crown refuses to let us breathe for too long.

Right in front of the king, the cabinet, and the media, Hui-ju suddenly collapses, leaving everyone horrified and ending the episode on a massive cliffhanger.

Episode 7 perfectly balances romance and suspense. The chemistry between Hui-ju and Yi-an continues to shine, especially now that their feelings are finally becoming impossible to hide. At the same time, the deeper political mystery surrounding the royal family is becoming more dangerous, particularly with the revelation about the burned decree and Yi-rang’s possible involvement in the late king’s death.

And now the biggest question moving forward is Jeong-woo. Watching Hui-ju and Yi-an grow closer is clearly hurting him more than he admits. The real question is whether he’ll continue supporting them… or whether his feelings will eventually push him down a darker path.

Poisoned Secrets, Protective Love, and a Scandal Ready to Explode

Episode 8 of Perfect Crown wastes absolutely no time throwing us into chaos. Just when it seemed like Hui-ju and Prince Yi-an had finally found some happiness together, the drama delivers one of its most shocking twists yet.

The episode opens with pure panic after Hui-ju suddenly collapses during the newlyweds’ first official palace appearance. Everyone freezes in horror, but Prince Yi-an immediately takes control of the situation. His priority is crystal clear, protecting his wife at all costs.

Without hesitation, he orders Choi-hyun to contact Hui-ju’s father and insists on taking her to Castle Hospital instead of the Royal Hospital. Meanwhile, Jeong-woo clears traffic so they can get there as quickly as possible. The urgency of the entire scene makes it painfully obvious just how terrified Yi-an is of losing her.

As Hui-ju’s family anxiously waits outside the operating room, doctors eventually reveal the horrifying truth, she was poisoned.

Medical tests confirm that Hui-ju is suffering from digoxin toxicity, a potentially fatal condition. Thankfully, because she wasn’t a regular user of the drug, she survives. But the terrifying reality remains: someone deliberately tried to kill her.

Back at Prince Yi-an’s residence, Hye-jung immediately shifts into full investigation mode. She orders the palace staff to stop handling anything related to the wedding and demands all ceremonial items be locked away for inspection. Naturally, suspicion quickly falls on A-reum, whose nervous behavior only makes her look guiltier.

Meanwhile, Hui-ju’s father storms into the hospital and even lashes out physically at Prince Yi-an, demanding answers. But Yi-an remains surprisingly calm despite the chaos around him. Instead of backing down, he escalates things even further by officially ordering a full investigation into everyone connected to the palace.

And honestly? The palace has never looked more shaken.

Jeong-woo publicly announces that the entire royal family will be investigated, something unheard of in royal history. Even Yi-rang is visibly rattled as the pressure begins closing in around her.

After intensive treatment, Hui-ju finally wakes up, and the emotional reunion between her and Yi-an is easily one of the strongest moments of the episode. The second he hears she’s awake, he rushes straight to her room, hugs her tightly, and tearfully admits how terrified he was of losing her.

It’s soft, vulnerable, and completely genuine.

But just when things seem emotional enough already, the investigation uncovers an even bigger shock.

Hui-ju was never supposed to drink the poisoned beverage.

Prince Yi-an was the actual target.

The realization hits hard for both of them. Hui-ju pieces together that Court Lady Jin-sook accidentally swapped the ritual cups during the wedding ceremony, meaning Hui-ju unknowingly drank what was intended for Yi-an. Suddenly, the attempted murder becomes even darker and far more personal.

Determined to protect her, Yi-an tightens palace security immediately. He replaces attendants, restricts access to Hui-ju, and makes it clear that nobody untrustworthy will get near her again. At the same time, Jeong-woo quietly begins investigating Yi-rang and her father after learning they had access to Yi-an’s medical records.

And of course, Yi-rang herself starts panicking.

Despite all the danger surrounding them, Hui-ju and Yi-an’s relationship only grows stronger through the ordeal. Once Hui-ju returns to the palace, the public begins viewing her as a sympathetic victim, something her PR team smartly uses to shift public opinion in her favor.

Yi-rang tries pretending to care and offers to temporarily take over Hui-ju’s duties, but Yi-an immediately shuts that down. His loyalty to Hui-ju is becoming impossible for anyone to ignore.

The quieter moments between them this episode are especially sweet. Hui-ju admits she’s scared she may have been the true target all along, while Yi-an casually reveals he wouldn’t have cared if he were the one in danger, as long as she survived.

Naturally, this emotional conversation somehow turns into a playful pillow fight.

And honestly? Their domestic scenes are becoming dangerously adorable.

Later that night, Yi-an casually walks out of the shower and completely flusters Hui-ju before teasing her about consummating their marriage. But beneath the teasing is something much softer. When Hui-ju asks him to turn off her ECG monitor, he refuses because hearing her heartbeat reassures him that she’s alive.

That tiny forehead kiss afterward? Easily one of the sweetest moments in the drama so far.

But just when things seem to calm down, disaster strikes again.

The newlyweds attend their first public event together at their old high school, where Hui-ju gives a confident and heartfelt speech while Yi-an watches proudly from the side. Everything feels warm, hopeful, and perfectly romantic…

Until reporters suddenly storm the event.

Within minutes, news breaks exposing Hui-ju and Yi-an’s contract marriage.

Hui-ju freezes in complete shock as the media swarms around them. And in true Yi-an fashion, he immediately steps in front of her, shielding her from the chaos while holding her hand and guiding her safely away.

The episode ends on another explosive cliffhanger that threatens to destroy everything they’ve built together.

Episode 8 raises the emotional stakes higher than ever. The poisoning storyline adds a layer of real danger to the romance, while Hui-ju and Yi-an’s growing emotional dependence on each other feels more natural and heartfelt with every episode.

At the same time, the mystery surrounding the palace only deepens. Between Yi-rang, Sung-won, A-reum, and even Jeong-woo, everyone feels suspicious now, and it’s becoming harder to tell who can truly be trusted.

And now, with the contract marriage exposed to the public, the real storm is only beginning.

I swear Perfect Crown somehow keeps getting better every week because Episodes 7 and 8 had EVERYTHING. Romance, palace drama, jealousy, murder attempts, emotional confessions… I was stressed and giggling at the same time.

First of all, that yacht kiss absolutely changed the entire vibe between Hui-ju and Yi-an. Up until now, they kept hiding behind the “contract marriage” excuse, but after that kiss? The tension became way too real. Hui-ju trying to convince herself she wasn’t affected while literally asking for an exorcism had me laughing so hard. Meanwhile Yi-an was out here replaying the kiss in his head like a man completely gone already.

And honestly? He fell HARD.

The jealousy this episode was so entertaining too. The second he heard Jeong-woo in the car with Hui-ju, his entire mood shifted. He tries to act calm and royal about everything, but he’s become so obvious whenever it comes to her.

But the emotional scenes really got me this time. Yi-an openly confessing that the kiss only meant something because it was Hui-ju felt huge for his character. He’s finally stopped pretending this is all strategy and is starting to admit what he actually wants. And the way Hui-ju slowly realizes she feels the same? Their relationship development feels so natural.

Then Episode 8 came in and immediately punched me in the chest.

The poisoning storyline seriously raised the stakes. Watching Yi-an panic after Hui-ju collapsed made it painfully clear how much he loves her already. That hospital reunion scene where he hugged her and admitted he was scared of losing her? Easily one of the best scenes in the drama so far.

At this point, they’ve completely become each other’s safe place. Even the smaller moments hit harder now, like the pillow fight, him refusing to turn off the ECG monitor because hearing her heartbeat comforts him, and those soft little kisses they keep sharing when nobody’s watching.

But what I really love is that the drama still keeps the mystery and palace politics interesting alongside the romance. The reveal about the poisoned drink actually being meant for Yi-an was wild, and now I genuinely don’t know who to trust anymore. Everybody feels suspicious.

And of course, this drama refuses to let us stay happy for too long because that ending??? The contract marriage getting exposed publicly right when they were finally acting like a real married couple is absolute chaos.

Overall, these two episodes felt like a major turning point emotionally. Hui-ju and Yi-an are no longer pretending, even if they keep trying to label it as temporary. The feelings are fully there now, and honestly, I’m completely obsessed with them.

And now I desperately need Episode 9 immediately.
