In Your Radiant Season- Episodes 7-8
When Hearts Open Wide but Secrets Refuse to Stay Hidden
Episode 7 of In Your Radiant Season kicks off with that long-awaited airport hug, and it’s every bit as warm as you’d hope. Chan casually admits he hugs people when he’s happy, and honestly, that energy carries through the entire opening. On the cab ride home, he even holds Ha-ran’s hand, and by the time she gets home, she’s glowing in a way we haven’t seen in a while. Meanwhile, Chan settles back into his room at Mr. Park’s café, though there’s a quiet worry lingering in his mind about whether he’s asking for too much from Ha-ran while keeping such a big secret.

Not long after, Chan brings everyone together for a cheerful reunion at the café. It’s all smiles and good vibes as both teams celebrate his return for the next two months. But even in these lighthearted moments, his memories keep creeping in. When he drops a plastic bottle, the sound triggers yet another fragment tied to the past, though the full picture still refuses to come together.
Back at the café, Ha-ran and Chan share a slightly awkward but undeniably cute moment when she accidentally walks in on him changing. A small misunderstanding has her thinking he’s about to kiss her, only for him to tease her and then quickly backtrack. Still, it’s clear he’s starting to see glimpses of the old, brighter Ha-ran. Later, they go over her “homework,” and Chan suggests they redo his bucket list together, giving them another excuse to spend more time side by side.
Elsewhere, the side stories keep adding layers. Ha-dam and You-gyum’s relationship remains tense, with pride and hurt getting in the way of honesty. Na-na, never one to sugarcoat things, gives You-gyum a firm push to face his feelings head-on. Meanwhile, Ha-young has a surprisingly emotional encounter with Tae-suk at the family gravesite. A glimpse into the past reveals how deeply connected he’s been to their family, and in the present, his quiet gestures, like clearing stones from her path, speak volumes without a single grand confession.

As the episode unfolds, the mystery around Chan deepens. He begins to realize that every missing piece of his memory is tied to the sound of Su-jin’s bracelet. And just when things couldn’t get more tense, Su-jin herself arrives in South Korea, setting the stage for even bigger revelations.
Things take a more emotional turn when Chan secretly meets with Na-na. In a heartfelt conversation, she opens up about how broken Ha-ran was after everything that happened with Hyeok-chan. She thanks Chan for bringing light back into Ha-ran’s life and asks him to stay by her side. But Chan, weighed down by the truth he’s hiding, admits he might not be as good for Ha-ran as she believes.
Later, Chan takes Ha-ran to his grandmother’s pottery exhibition, where one piece in particular leaves a strong impression. It’s made from shattered fragments carefully put back together, symbolizing healing and renewal. The moment quietly mirrors both of their journeys, as they continue piecing themselves back together.

But just as things seem to be settling into a gentle rhythm, the tension spikes again. When Chan and Ha-ran return to his grandmother’s home, they unexpectedly run into Chan’s father. The encounter is anything but calm. Old wounds resurface instantly, and when his father tries to reach out, Chan reacts strongly, pushing him away. In the chaos, a shard of glass ends up cutting Ha-ran’s face, leaving Chan shaken and overwhelmed with guilt.
Back at the café, another quiet discovery adds to the growing mystery. Mr. Park finds a brown pen engraved with Ha-ran’s name in Chan’s jacket pocket, a detail that raises questions he chooses to keep to himself for now.
The emotional weight of the episode builds toward its final moments. Ha-ran finds Chan and shows him a watch his father dropped, a watch Chan had once given him, engraved with his own drawing. To her, it’s proof that his father still cares. But Chan can’t see it that way. Convinced that he’ll only hurt her, he tells Ha-ran they should stop seeing each other.
Ha-ran, however, refuses to back down. She reminds him that he helped heal her when she needed it most, and now she wants to do the same for him. Even when he warns her that his feelings will only grow stronger, she doesn’t hesitate. Instead, she steps closer, tells him it’s okay, and encourages him to lean in.
And just like that, everything changes.
New Beginnings Bloom Just as the Truth Starts to Unravel
DramaZen's Opinion

I feel like episodes 7 and 8 of In Your Radiant Season really delivered on that emotional payoff we’ve been waiting for. It finally feels like things are moving forward, but at the same time… you can tell a storm is coming.
Episode 7 had so many sweet moments that made me smile. The airport hug, the hand-holding, the way Chan and Ha-ran just naturally fall into this comfortable rhythm together… it all felt so soft and earned. I especially loved how Ha-ran stood her ground when Chan tried to push her away. That was such a big moment for her. She’s not running anymore, and it’s really satisfying to see that growth.
Then episode 8 comes in and gives us the romance we’ve been craving. The kiss, the little dates, Chan showing up with flowers… it all feels so warm and hopeful. I loved how they’re trying to focus on the present instead of letting the past define them. It makes their relationship feel really intentional.
But at the same time, there’s this constant tension underneath everything. The pen situation, the hints about Su-jin, the things Ha-ran still doesn’t know… it’s like you’re just waiting for it all to come crashing down. And I’m both excited and nervous for that moment.
Overall, these episodes felt like the calm before something big. We’re getting all these soft, happy moments, but you just know they’re not going to last forever. Still, I’m enjoying every second of it while we’re here.
