The Kiss, The Chaos, and The Color Red

Spirit Fingers Episode 7 dives right back into the wonderfully awkward mess we were left with after Gijeong kissed Uyeon’s eye. The episode opens with Gijeong scrambling through an explanation that only makes things stranger, while Uyeon, mortified beyond belief, practically throws him out of the room. It’s peak teenage chaos, and honestly, it’s adorable.

At school, Uyeon gets a message from Gijeong claiming he’ll “take responsibility,” which is already suspicious phrasing coming from him. Before she can even decipher what that means, he lures her into a fancy restaurant that no two high schoolers should ever be in. He then announces he’s “taking responsibility” for kissing her without permission. Uyeon begs him not to call it a kiss and instead call it “the thing,” which somehow makes it sound even worse. The awkwardness grows so intense she has no choice but to escape.

Meanwhile, Seonho is caught in his own swirl of feelings. One snapshot of him and Geurin sends him drifting back to their high school days, remembering how long he’s liked her and how impossible her ideal type once seemed. Even now, her reaction to his sudden military news lingers heavily between them.

Back at Spirit Fingers, the weekly color theme is announced: red. Of course it’s Gijeong’s color, which immediately sends Uyeon into a panic. She almost skips the meeting altogether, but bravery wins out, and she arrives, unfortunately moments after Gijeong walks in. Naturally, the second she appears, Pink and Black Finger swoop in like style-hungry fairy godmothers and decide she desperately needs a makeover.

They loudly debut her to the entire club, and Uyeon wants the earth to swallow her whole. To make matters worse, she crashes right into Gijeong, who turns toward her at the exact wrong moment. They stay in each other’s arms just a little too long, and now everyone in the room smells romance in the air.

Trying to recover, the two sneak outside for air. Gijeong proudly tells her he never told anyone about “the thing,” which only deepens her embarrassment. Still, he can’t help staring at her like she’s the prettiest person he’s ever seen, especially in his color. He leans in closer, but just as something might happen, the rest of the club appears, and Uyeon panics so hard she knocks him straight to the ground.

Elsewhere, Geurin avoids the club for the night but finds Seonho afterward. She tells him she needs time, and knowing her habits, Seonho jokingly casts a “reverse love spell,” telling her not to miss him or think about how charming he is. Naturally, it backfires perfectly, Geurin can’t stop thinking about him at all.

But the real storm is brewing with Yerim. Rattled by Gijeong’s sudden softness toward Uyeon, she corners Uyeon and casually drops the claim that she’s his ex. Then, without giving Uyeon any room to refuse, Yerim demands she bring her to the next Spirit Fingers meeting. Back home, overwhelmed and self-conscious, Uyeon convinces herself she and Gijeong never made sense anyway and agrees to bring Yerim along.

Horror Night, Hurt Feelings, and Heartfelt Confessions

Spirit Fingers Episode 8 kicks off with Uyeon reluctantly bringing Yerim along to the club gathering, just like she promised. The theme this week is horror, and the Spirit Fingers crew takes it far too seriously. The lights are low, creepy props are everywhere, and everyone is dressed like they crawled straight out of a haunted house. Yerim immediately starts complaining, but Uyeon tries her best to keep things calm.

The members attempt to scare the girls as part of the theme, and for a brief moment, Yerim’s carefully polished attitude slips. Uyeon reacts by instinctively pulling away, creating the first hint of tension between them. After dressing up in costume, Uyeon steps out… right as Gijeong shows up dressed like a very committed vampire. He tries teasing her, clearly thinking everything is fine, but Uyeon shuts down completely. Before he can understand what’s going on, Yerim calls his name, stopping him in his tracks.

Realizing something feels off, Gijeong wastes no time pulling Uyeon aside. He tries to warn her about Yerim’s real personality, but Uyeon refuses to listen. When she casually repeats Yerim’s claim of being his ex, Gijeong is shocked, not by the lie, but by Uyeon’s calm acceptance of it. His frustration sparks hers, and the two hit a wall they can’t talk past.

Back in the real world, Uyeon’s friends Sera and Mirae accidentally run into Yerim’s old bully circle. Things escalate fast. A fight breaks out, fists fly, and Daeoh jumps in to protect Sera even though he’s definitely not a fighter. The chaos eventually lands them all at the police station, where they discover Yerim’s bullies are connected to her after all.

Back at Spirit Fingers, the tension between Uyeon and Gijeong simmers. Trying to get a reaction out of her, Gijeong agrees to let Yerim sit on his lap for a couple pose. It’s a classic jealousy move, and it works, Uyeon is visibly bothered, though she doesn’t say a word.

Then Mirae calls Uyeon from the police station. Uyeon rushes over and finally hears the truth: Yerim’s bullying wasn’t a rumor, and Gijeong had been trying to help her all along. Realizing her mistake, Uyeon spirals into guilt.

That night, with everything weighing on her, Uyeon finally faces her feelings head-on. She thinks about how Gijeong has been by her side through every rough moment and realizes how deeply she cares for him.

Gijeong shows up, and Uyeon immediately tries to apologize. But he beats her to it, insisting the fault was his. Overwhelmed, Uyeon pulls him into a hug, and a soft, emotional stillness settles between them. She confesses that she likes him too. Gijeong is so stunned he can barely breathe. When she turns away, he gathers his courage and pulls her into a warm back hug, whispering that he likes her even more.

But romance isn’t limited to just one pair tonight.

Geurin continues grappling with her feelings about Seonho’s enlistment. The more she thinks about him leaving, the more she realizes how much she cares. When they meet, she nervously admits she can’t imagine them doing couple-like things, including kissing. Seonho responds in the most Seonho way possible: he kisses her. Shocked but finally honest with herself, Geurin runs after him and kisses him again, this time with certainty.

DramaZen's Opinion

Opinion of Spirit Fingers (2025)

Episodes 7 and 8 of Spirit Fingers bring a perfect mix of humor, heart-fluttering tension, and the kind of emotional honesty that makes this drama so easy to love. These episodes dig deeper into the relationships we’ve been watching slowly unfold, and the payoff is incredibly satisfying.

Episode 7 leans into the awkwardness in the best way. Gijeong’s unexpected eye kiss sends both him and Uyeon spiraling into embarrassment, confusion, and the kind of flustered chemistry that makes their dynamic so charming to watch. Their restaurant “responsibility” date is hilarious and painfully sweet, and even though everything is messy, it feels so true to who they are. We also get a peek into Seonho and Geurin’s shared past, adding a new layer of warmth to their growing connection.

Episode 8 steps things up with a horror-themed Spirit Fingers gathering, where costumes, misunderstandings, and jealousy collide. Watching Gijeong and Uyeon struggle to communicate is frustrating in the most addicting way, especially when Yerim’s influence starts creeping into the picture. But the real highlight is the emotional breakthrough at the end. Uyeon finally admits her feelings, and Gijeong's back hug confession is easily one of the sweetest moments so far.

Geurin and Seonho also move from longing to clarity, giving us a beautifully quiet but powerful kiss scene that feels like a long time coming.

These two episodes capture the gentle charm of Spirit Fingers; awkward emotions, heartfelt confessions, blooming romance, and friendships tested in unexpected ways. It’s the perfect blend of youthful drama and genuine connection, and it leaves you wanting to hit play on the next episode right away.
