Secret Plans, Playground Confessions, and Family Interference

Episode 9 of Spirit Fingers opens with Geurin and Seonho in the clubroom, exploring the thrill of a kiss that’s just risky enough to feel exciting. Geurin confesses that the thrill is part of the fun, and when footsteps approach, Seonho doesn’t stop, kissing her passionately until their classmates reach the door. Geurin is left speechless, and their chemistry is stronger than ever.

Meanwhile, Gijeong is buzzing with excitement at the boys’ hideout, completely unable to sleep. Taeseon urges him to rest, but Gijeong is too caught up in the joy of dating Uyeon, channeling his energy into boxing, chanting, and pacing like a teenager in love. Back at school, Uyeon’s own excitement is clear, she spent all night sketching Gijeong and can’t stop thinking about him. Her friends tease her for being so distracted, and she almost mistakes someone else for him on her way home.

When Gijeong finds her, he casually interrupts her thoughts, and the pair share a sweet, candid walk home. They talk about dreams, future plans, and their contrasting personalities. Despite Gijeong’s busy part-time job, he insists on walking Uyeon home, telling her she’s more important than anything else in his life. At the playground, they continue opening up, sharing vulnerabilities about ambition, responsibility, and self-doubt. The moment turns tender until Wu Dol interrupts, leaving Uyeon to push Gijeong down in a panic.

Wu Dol quickly makes it clear he disapproves of Gijeong, warning that their mother would scold Uyeon if she keeps dating him. Feeling the pressure, Uyeon asks Gijeong to lay low for a while. Determined, Gijeong tries every tactic to win over Wu Dol, from ice cream bribes to over-the-top antics, ultimately culminating in a capital city quiz challenge. Of course, Wu Dol wins, bluntly telling Gijeong he’s not the right match for Uyeon. The weight of his words hits hard, forcing Gijeong to step back and reconsider how to protect their relationship.

Despite this, Uyeon reassures him with a heartfelt message: no matter what, they have Plan B, a secret way to meet, and she reminds him that just as she’s special to him, he’s special to her. Gijeong, quietly following her to ensure her safety, smiles at her confidence and playfulness, even while a shadow of doubt crosses his mind.

Plan B comes into effect, but obstacles remain. Gijeong and Uyeon attempt to meet secretly, only to be interrupted by Spirit Fingers activities. Meanwhile, Wu Dol, initially skeptical, tries drawing at Seonho’s encouragement and slowly begins to enjoy himself, appreciating Seonho’s intelligence. When he offers Seonho the chance to date Uyeon, Gijeong appears just in time, asserting himself firmly as her boyfriend.

Summer Fun, Playful Teasing, and Insecurities on Display

Episode 10 of Spirit Fingers brings us a bright and lively summer-themed club gathering, with the room decked out in tropical colors and everyone in cute summer outfits. The cheerful vibe is slightly undercut, though, by the ongoing tension between Gijeong and Wu Dol. Wu Dol flatly refuses to draw Gijeong, calling him a “giant creep,” but Gijeong just laughs it off and tells him to watch closely. In a surprising twist, Wu Dol volunteers for a couple pose, mostly to sabotage Gijeong, but even with Wu Dol on top of him, Gijeong holds the pose for a full five minutes, proving just how committed and impressive he really is.

After the gathering, Uyeon sweetly consoles Wu Dol with cookies, and he begrudgingly admits that maybe Gijeong has a charm only she can see. Meanwhile, back at school, Uyeon and Gijeong’s playful dynamic continues over the phone. Uyeon innocently praises Gijeong’s core strength from holding up under Wu Dol, completely unaware of the innuendo, leaving Gijeong flustered and Mirae silently teasing in the background.

At the boys’ hideout, Gijeong becomes obsessed with perfecting his kissing technique, consulting Taeseon like it’s a life-or-death mission. Taeseon lists all kinds of options, but none seem to fit Uyeon’s personality.

Later, Uyeon visits the café to retrieve her sketchbook and opens up about her uncertainty about the future. The owner gives her a comforting reminder: she’s like a blank canvas, capable of becoming anything. Looking at Gijeong’s surfboard, Uyeon realizes that she does have something she likes, him. Unbeknownst to her, Gijeong overhears and seizes the moment, teasingly pushing for a kiss. After some playful back-and-forth and failed “options” from Taeseon, Gijeong reminds Uyeon that kissing comes naturally when you truly like someone.

Meanwhile, the club lingers after the gathering, and conversations naturally shift to romance. Geurin and Seonho’s relationship comes to the forefront. While Geurin hesitates to acknowledge her feelings, Seonho confidently admits he has felt a spark for her, showing how far their emotions have come. Later, Geurin struggles to navigate her feelings on campus, especially after her ex shows up unexpectedly, leaving her shaken and forcing her to confront what she truly wants.

Back to Uyeon and Gijeong, a visit to his workplace gives Uyeon a new perspective on him. She sees him shining in his element, striving to be his best self, and it unintentionally intensifies her insecurities. What was meant to reassure her only highlights her self-doubt, contrasting sharply with Gijeong’s intention to show her how much he cares and is willing to grow for her. It’s a bittersweet reminder of how love can make people vulnerable, but also push them toward personal growth.
