Episode 7 of Brewing Love: Brewing Secrets, Spilled Emotions, and a Cliffhanger Kiss πŸΊπŸ’”

This week’s episode starts with a jaw-dropping revelation: Min-ju discovers Yong-ju is the mysterious person who saved his life six years ago! But instead of the warm and fuzzy reunion you’d expect, there’s a cloud of unease. Min-ju notices that the fierce, self-assured woman who rescued him is a far cry from the reserved Yong-ju he knows now. Flashback time! A younger Yong-ju, standing by his hospital bed, tells him to protect himself and be kind to his own heart. But the vibe now? Complicated.

Dinner with Min-ju’s family offers a brief intermission of small talk, but tension lingers. Min-ju wants answers, but Yong-ju vanishes before he can ask.

Meanwhile, back at Yong-ju’s home, her grandmother has a secret of her own—she’s in pain but refuses to let it show. A haunting flashback reveals Yong-ju’s return from saving Min-ju years ago to find her grandmother collapsed. That guilt still lingers.

A Birthday, a Confrontation, and... Cookies? πŸŽ‚πŸͺ

Elsewhere, Ah-reum gathers her parents for her birthday, only to serve them a verbal slice of truth: stop throwing money at her and start showing love. Cue emotional tension. Just then, the ever-charming Chan-hwi enters the same restaurant with his siblings for a birthday celebration of their own. When Ah-reum’s parents ditch her for work, she imagines Chan-hwi swooping in with a cake. It’s just a daydream... or is it?

Chan-hwi later surprises her at a convenience store with a cookie “cake,” proving he’s secretly thoughtful. Is this the start of something sweet? We hope so!

Brewing Drama and Untold Pain 🍻

Back at the brewery, Min-ju can’t stop thinking about Yong-ju’s strange behavior. The villagers, however, are so over hearing him gush about how she saved him. (Min-ju, maybe tone it down?) Yong-ju, on the other hand, is tormented by memories of missing her grandmother’s call on that fateful day.

As the Jisang team works on a new beer concept, the camaraderie is interrupted by another flash of chemistry. Ah-reum surprises Chan-hwi with a bold move—a spontaneous bike ride hug! Meanwhile, Min-ju confronts Yong-ju, who promises to open up to him... someday.

But the drama doesn’t stop there. Ra-oh receives a gut-wrenching call: his father has collapsed. At the hospital, Yong-ju comforts him with wisdom drawn from her own painful experience, while Min-ju steps up to cover the bills. His gesture makes Ra-oh uncomfortable, but Min-ju insists on the importance of accepting help.

Confessions and Consequences πŸ’”

Later, Min-ju drops Yong-ju home, where her grandmother eagerly invites him to dinner. It’s a cozy scene until Min-ju drops his own bombshell: he likes Yong-ju. After she falls asleep, her mother sheds light on the tragic backstory—saving Min-ju came at a huge cost. Yong-ju ignored her grandmother’s call, leading to her collapse, and gave up her dreams to shoulder financial burdens. Meanwhile, Min-ju took her words to heart and rebuilt his life.

Now, Min-ju is hit with a devastating realization: he is the reason Yong-ju stopped living her life. He leaves her a note of apology, and in the morning, Yong-ju decides to stop regretting her past. With her grandmother’s blessing, she’s ready to move forward.

A Mountain, a Confession, and a Cliffhanger Kiss πŸŒ„πŸ’

Cue the final act: the brewery faces an emergency as Min-ju goes missing. Yong-ju races up a mountain, her heart pounding, only to find him brooding by a dilapidated hut. She’s furious, but Min-ju explains he needed space to figure out how to be with her despite their messy pasts.

In a moment of vulnerability, Yong-ju admits she’s been hurting. Min-ju vows never to leave her and seals his promise with a kiss. After a beat, Yong-ju kisses him back, and bam! We’re left with a swoon-worthy cliffhanger.

Episode 8 of Brewing Love: Heartstrings, High School Drama, and Heartbreak πŸ’”πŸŒŠ

This episode kicks off with the lingering warmth of a mountain-top kiss, but Yong-ju pulls back, unsure of her feelings. Min-ju, ever the patient romantic, tells her to take her time—cue the swoons. Meanwhile, the villagers are just relieved the rescue mission was a false alarm and that these two have made it down safely. But Min-ju’s protective fussing doesn’t sit well with Yong-ju, who bluntly tells him he’s now the one putting up walls. Ouch.

Hangovers, Matchmaking, and Beachside Romance πŸŒ…πŸ’˜

The next morning, Min-ju wakes up to find Chan-hwi passed out next to him. What happened? Apparently, a tipsy heart-to-heart. Chan-hwi worried about Ah-reum’s matchmaking date, while Min-ju lamented Yong-ju’s emotional limbo.

Speaking of Ah-reum, her matchmaking date turns sour when the guy grabs her hand after she rejects him. Luckily, Chan-hwi (who was low-key spying) jumps in to save the day. Sparks fly as they escape to a beach, and in a bold move, Ah-reum asks if they should date. Chan-hwi’s overjoyed reaction is basically the most adorable thing ever.

Brewing Jealousy, Beer, and Bold Ideas 🍻✨

Yong-ju tries to distract herself from Min-ju, but he’s always on her mind. At the brewery, the team is shocked to learn about Chan-hwi and Ah-reum’s new relationship, while Min-ju keeps a careful distance from Yong-ju, leaving her confused. They dive into taste-testing new beer samples, but workplace drama bubbles up as Jisang Brewing’s planning and marketing directors lock horns. Amid the tension, Yong-ju pitches a genius idea: a line of beers with different flavors and alcohol levels to match every mood. Respect the era, indeed.

But just as things are looking up, in walks Lim Ju-hee, Min-ju’s ex-girlfriend. Yup, she’s a marketing manager now, but all Yong-ju can see is Min-ju’s high school sweetheart. Flashbacks of Ju-hee as a poised ballet dancer fuel Yong-ju’s jealousy, and she storms off, muttering under her breath about what it would’ve been like to date Min-ju back then. (Spoiler: Her daydream is pure rom-com gold.)

A Date, a Dress, and a Tragic Goodbye πŸŒΉπŸ’”

Determined to lighten the mood, Min-ju asks Yong-ju out for a "colleague date." With Ah-reum’s fashion help, Yong-ju stuns in a gorgeous dress, and Min-ju is starstruck. He buys her flowers, promising to help her discover the little joys in life. Their date is filled with laughter and a spark of hope... until Yong-ju returns home to devastating news: her grandmother has passed away.

Still wearing her dress, Yong-ju rushes to the hospital and crumbles beside the bed. Amid the grief, she finds a voice note from her grandmother, who had sensed her time was near. In the recording, her grandmother tells Yong-ju not to hold back her feelings anymore and expresses pride in being her caretaker. It’s a heart-wrenching farewell.

Tears, Closure, and a Hug That Breaks Down Walls πŸŒ§οΈπŸ€—

Yong-ju soldiers through the funeral with a brave smile, but her composure cracks when her estranged father arrives. A flashback reveals that he and her mother left her with her grandmother when he was only 21, unable to handle the responsibility. In the present, Yong-ju calmly tells him she built a good life without him, but the emotional weight is undeniable.

Outside, Yong-ju steels herself not to cry, but Min-ju finds her and wraps her in a tight hug. He’s already crying, and his vulnerability unlocks hers. For the first time, Yong-ju allows herself to grieve, leaning into Min-ju as they share a deeply cathartic moment.

The episode ends on a bittersweet note, blending the weight of loss with the promise of healing. Can love truly bloom amid heartbreak? We’ll have to wait and see. 🌸

DramaZen's Opinion

Opinion of Brewing Love (2024)

OMG, you guys! Episodes 7 and 8 of Brewing Love had me absolutely SHOOK!

I don’t even know where to start because my emotions are all over the place. From swoony kisses and secret backstories to heartbreaking goodbyes, this show knows how to stir my soul—and ruin my mascara.

Let’s talk about that mountain kiss! I was screaming, crying, throwing pillows. It was SO beautiful, but Yong-ju pulling away was a total mood killer. I get it though—she’s still processing her feelings, and Min-ju being all “Take your time, I’ll wait” was honestly the most patient, heart-melting thing ever. Can I clone him, please?

Meanwhile, Chan-hwi and Ah-reum were just as adorable with their cookie “cake” moment and that impulsive bike hug (SO cute!). But then Ah-reum’s bold beach proposal—“Should we date?”—just took their chemistry to another level. Chan-hwi’s ecstatic reaction? Priceless. We stan a man who isn’t afraid to show he’s smitten.

If I thought Episode 7 was intense, Episode 8 took it to another planet. Yong-ju and Min-ju’s “colleague date” was everything I wanted and more. Yong-ju’s dress? Gorgeous. Min-ju’s reaction? Adorable. The flowers? Swoon. But leave it to this show to give me whiplash because just when things were getting fluffy, Yong-ju’s grandmother passed away, and I was SOBBING. Like, actual tears streaming down my face.

That voice note from her grandmother? RIP my heart. The way she told Yong-ju not to hold back her feelings anymore was so touching and felt like a message for all of us watching. And when Min-ju hugged her and started crying first? My emotions went from “aww” to “AHHHH” in 0.2 seconds. Watching Yong-ju finally break down and cry in his arms felt so raw and real—I don’t think I’ll recover anytime soon.

Min-ju’s ex, Ju-hee, showing up was peak drama, and I don’t blame Yong-ju for being jealous. (Seriously, who wouldn’t spiral a little?) But Min-ju sending Ju-hee off with a casual “Leave” was chef’s kiss. He’s clearly all in for Yong-ju, and I’m here for it.

On the flip side, Chan-hwi and Ah-reum are stealing my heart too! Their slow-burn turned beachside romance is so sweet and lighthearted—it’s the perfect counterbalance to all the heavy emotions with Yong-ju and Min-ju. I love how they’re both just figuring it out together.

These two episodes gave me everything—romance, heartbreak, jealousy, and those deep, emotional gut-punches that remind me why I’m obsessed with Brewing Love. I laughed, I cried (a lot), and I fell even harder for these characters. Min-ju and Yong-ju’s connection is so layered and messy, and I can’t wait to see how their relationship grows after everything they’ve been through.

But let’s be real: I’ll need an entire box of tissues for the next episode because this show is NOT afraid to break me. πŸ’•πŸΊ #TeamMinJu #BrewingLoveFeels
