Brewing Love- (Final) Episodes 11-12
The Bittersweet Finale of Brewing Love ๐ป
It’s time to pour one out for Brewing Love as we say goodbye to Yong-joo, Min-joo, and the rest of the gang. But before we toast to happily ever afters, this finale served up sabotage, emotional breakthroughs, and career-defining decisions. Here’s the lowdown on the finale that wrapped up our brew-tiful journey.
We start with Min-joo’s perfectionist streak clashing with Yong-joo’s practicality. He insists on dumping the first batch of Together beer due to a minor taste shift, while Yong-joo points out the massive $5 million price tag attached to the launch delay. It’s the ultimate face-off: integrity vs. credibility. Despite her sales instincts, Yong-joo reluctantly follows the marketing director’s orders to release the beer as is. But no one’s celebrating this “victory.” Instead, JooJoo enters their “Why is everything so complicated?” phase, avoiding each other like it’s an Olympic sport.
Cue the emotional reckoning: Yong-joo finally confronts Min-joo about hiding his feelings. His answer? He doesn’t want to hurt her with his pain. Saint Min-joo, as always, trying to carry the world on his shoulders. Thankfully, their angst doesn’t last long. Min-joo opens up, and they decide to adjust to each other’s quirks and needs. Relationship goals unlocked! ๐
But just when the team gets the second batch of Together beer right, sabotage strikes again. Enter the slimy planning director, who leaks a fake story about quality issues. Ah-reum to the rescue! She exposes his conspiracy with the competition, and the director is forced to resign—cue his self-pitying monologue that nobody wanted. The team regroups, and Together beer finally gets its triumphant relaunch. Cheers all around! ๐ป
The relaunch success brings new opportunities: the Busan branch is reopening, and Yong-joo has to decide whether to return. Her Busan team leader drops a truth bomb, admitting he hired her because of her desperation. Now, he encourages her to find a path driven by passion, not fear. Min-joo supports her unconditionally, promising to stay by her side no matter what she chooses.
In a moment of clarity, Yong-joo resigns, admitting she needs to find herself beyond work. While it’s a cliché move, it’s totally on-brand for our hardworking beer queen. And honestly? We’re proud of her.
Chan-hwi and Ah-reum steal the show with their sweet and unconventional proposal moment. Ah-reum buys her own ring and basically proposes to him. (We love a woman who knows what she wants!) Chan-hwi also opens up about his past, revealing that he changed his name after leaving the military to feel “reborn.” When he tells Ah-reum she’s now family and shares his old name with her, our hearts melted. ๐ฅฐ
The couple gets Ah-reum’s parents’ blessing, and she decides to stay at Jisang instead of resigning after marriage. Her new goal? Becoming the youngest and first female director at the company. Go, Ah-reum! Break that glass ceiling!
The finale wraps up everyone’s stories with a perfect bow:
- Beom heads back to Busan with a promotion, only to deal with a stubborn new hoobae who mirrors his younger self. Karma’s a beautiful thing. ๐
- Yong-joo opens a boutique beer shop, bringing small breweries into the spotlight.
- Min-joo expands his circle, stepping out of his comfort zone to connect with more people.
- Ah-reum and Chan-hwi are thriving as newly engaged partners, while Ah-reum plots her corporate takeover.
And as for JooJoo? Their love is stronger than ever, with Min-joo and Yong-joo building a life together filled with laughter, understanding, and, of course, amazing beer.
DramaZen's Opinion
After letting go of my Business Proposal-style expectations, Brewing Love turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable watch! The story didn’t try to overcomplicate itself, conflicts were resolved quickly, and the characters were so sweet and lovable that rooting for them felt effortless.
What I really loved was the growth of JooJoo’s romance—not just as a couple, but as individuals. Min-joo, our quiet and reserved brew master, stepped out of his shell and learned to express himself, while Yong-joo, the fiercely independent saleswoman, discovered the beauty of leaning on others and connecting with her emotions. Watching their personal healing journeys unfold was just as satisfying as their romantic moments. ๐
Brewing Love had its fair share of heartfelt moments that hit me right in the feels. One standout was when our JooJoo couple comforted each other during the loss of Yong-joo’s grandmother. That scene broke me—I was sobbing into a box of tissues, feeling every ounce of their pain and love.
That said, the ending left me a bit underwhelmed. It felt like they scrambled to piece together random “what happens next” moments to tie everything up neatly. While everyone got their happy ending (which I appreciated), I couldn’t help but wish for a more impactful wrap-up to this sweet journey.
As for JooJoo, while they didn’t quite reach the iconic heights of, say, the Love Next Door couple, they still make my top five of 2024. Their chemistry was adorable, and their growth as individuals and as a couple made them so easy to root for. Super cute, but with a little more direction, this finale could’ve truly shined. ๐
If Brewing Love set out to inspire its audience to live authentically and pursue what truly makes them happy, I’d say it hit the mark perfectly. This show may not have been flashy or dramatic, but it was heartwarming, thoughtful, and the kind of comforting story that leaves you feeling lighter by the end. ๐โจ #BrewingLoveFeels
