DNA Lover- Episode 6
Crosstalk
Episode 6 ramps up the intrigue right from the start, with So-jin's unexpected encounter with Gang-hun at the Han River, while Yeon-u has a mysterious meeting with Mi-eun at the tower. Gang-hun, caught off guard by So-jin’s anger, is baffled—he was simply out for a late-night run and didn’t expect to see her. But before he can defend himself, he heroically saves an old woman from being hit by a scooter, earning So-jin’s attention as she tends to his minor injuries.
Meanwhile, Mi-eun finds Yeon-u’s attempt at telepathic communication with So-jin both endearing and strange. As Yeon-u stops by a restaurant near So-jin’s place, trying to cover his tracks, A-ri spots him snapping a photo. He tries sending it to So-jin, but the message fails due to network issues. Frustrated, Yeon-u later joins his mom and aunt for dinner, where family drama unfolds—his mom still clings to the hope that her unfaithful husband will return.
The next day, Jung-tam kicks off his telepathy experiment with Sung-mi, convinced it's working as she keeps appearing before him. He even confides in Gang-hun about Yeon-u’s pursuit of So-jin, which fuels Gang-hun’s growing concern. To complicate matters, Gang-hun keeps running into Mi-eun, stirring suspicions of his own.
As So-jin wrestles with why Yeon-u never made it to the Han River, she suspects a telepathic mix-up and wonders who he actually met at the tower. Her curiosity piqued, she calls Yeon-u, but their conversation is cut short when she gets an urgent call from her boss. Yeon-u, already frustrated, feels even more distant from her.
Later, A-ri buys two potato skewers, contemplating a visit to Father Andrea. But when she sees him on the rooftop, urging someone unseen to repent, fear takes over, and she hurries home, confessing her growing attraction to the priest to So-jin.
Mi-eun, meanwhile, faces judgment from an old acquaintance about her polyamorous lifestyle. Yeon-u, coincidentally nearby, steps in to help. As they share drinks, their past comes to light—Mi-eun had ghosted Yeon-u for six months. Despite the tension, Yeon-u reassures her that he appreciated their distant, non-committal relationship and encourages her to stay true to herself.
Later, Yeon-u invites So-jin to a celestial show on Sunday. Being a fan of stargazing, she eagerly agrees, and the two begin planning for a romantic camping trip. But things take a twist when So-jin calls Gang-hun for a favor, casually mentioning the trip with Yeon-u. Surprised and clearly rattled, Gang-hun decides to crash their date.
At the campsite, tensions rise as Gang-hun constantly meddles in Yeon-u and So-jin’s private moments, with both men acting childishly, much to So-jin’s annoyance. Meanwhile, Mi-eun tries to follow Gang-hun but ends up lost, further complicating the evening. Eventually, Gang-hun is called back to work, leaving with a pointed warning to Yeon-u: he won’t let him hurt So-jin.
Once Gang-hun leaves, the mood softens as Yeon-u and So-jin enjoy the celestial show. As they get cozy under the stars, Yeon-u finally asks why she’s so serious about telepathy. So-jin reveals her desire to instinctively sense her lover’s pain so she can be there for him. Their tender moment is abruptly interrupted by Mi-eun, who introduces herself as Yeon-u’s ex, sparking jealousy in So-jin. To make matters worse, Mi-eun casually mentions that Yeon-u ghosted everyone just to attend this event alone with So-jin.
Elsewhere, Gang-hun’s team puts out a fire at an apartment. A curious detail emerges—a flower pot bearing the same logo as the one mysteriously sent to Yeon-u. This adds a new layer of mystery, especially when linked to the woman his father is dating. What is she up to?
After the camping date, Yeon-u secretly watches Mi-eun’s shows, hoping to learn how to win So-jin’s heart. Meanwhile, So-jin, unsettled by Mi-eun’s sudden reappearance, stalks her social media, even stumbling upon a picture of Mi-eun’s mom.
Unbeknownst to So-jin, Yeon-u is scheming. He enlists Jung-tam to follow her, trying to orchestrate “coincidental” meetings. But the plan derails when Jung-tam’s wallet gets stolen on the subway. Sung-mi swoops in to help, and they end up at the aquarium, where Jung-tam crosses paths with Mi-eun once again.
So-jin, disappointed by her failed telepathic connection with Yeon-u, is stunned when he unexpectedly appears as she leaves an exhibition. Believing this to be a sign, she agrees to go on their first official date, setting the stage for what could be a turning point in their relationship.
DramaZen's Opinion
The mystery deepens as we still don’t know who Father Andrea was speaking to on that rooftop. Could it be the man secretly following Yeon-u and setting fires around town? And what about Yeon-u’s dad—did he have an affair with Father Andrea’s mother? The new mistress seems to be lurking in the shadows, and the fires might be just the beginning of her twisted agenda.
On the romantic front, DNA Lover is starting to feel a bit stale, with its leads stuck in one-dimensional roles and little emotional growth. However, their upcoming first date could finally spark something more meaningful—will we see the chemistry finally ignite?
Meanwhile, for someone as sharp as a researcher, So-jin is surprisingly oblivious to the constant appearances of Mi-eun and Gang-hun. Does she really need a telepathic connection to her lover for things to work? Yeon-u, on the other hand, is going all out, launching covert “missions” like a CIA operative just to create accidental run-ins with her. It’s over the top, but the man is clearly head over heels, willing to bend time and space to win her heart!
