Chapter 8 - Collide- Suga (Min Yoongi) and J-Hope (Jung Hoseok) from BTS

Last Updated on 2025-02-07 23:25:29

Min Yoongi prided himself on his routines. Everything in its place, floors spotless, dishes cleaned immediately after use. Living alone had been peaceful—until now.

“Wait—what do you mean we have to share this place?” Yoongi scowled at the landlord, arms crossed.

Jung Hoseok, standing beside him, looked just as shocked. “Yeah, this has to be a mistake. I signed for a one-bedroom.”

The landlord sighed. “There was a mix-up with the listings, and you both signed for the same unit. Unfortunately, we’re at full occupancy, so unless one of you finds another place, you’re stuck together until the lease is up.”

Yoongi turned to glare at Hoseok, who raised an eyebrow in return.

“Guess we’re roommates,” Hoseok said with a lopsided grin.

Yoongi groaned.

Day 1

Yoongi walked into the kitchen and nearly dropped his coffee.

Clothes were strewn across the living room. Empty snack wrappers sat on the counter. The sink was already full of dishes.

Hoseok!” he bellowed.

Hoseok peeked out from his room, bedhead still intact. “What?”

Yoongi gestured wildly. “What is this?”

“Uh… a home?”

“This is a mess.”

Hoseok shrugged. “Relax, grandpa. Not everyone has a stick up their—”

“Clean. It. Now.

Hoseok smirked, ruffling his own hair. “You’re cute when you’re mad.”

Yoongi’s face burned. “Shut up and clean!”

Week 3

“You left your dirty socks on the couch again,” Yoongi muttered, scrubbing the counters aggressively.

Hoseok, sprawled out on said couch, grinned. “Oops.”

Yoongi shot him a glare. “Are you allergic to cleaning or something?”

Hoseok sighed dramatically. “I just think there’s more to life than wiping down counters every five seconds.”

Yoongi rolled his eyes. “And I think there’s more to life than living like a raccoon in a trash heap.”

They bickered. They argued. Every day was a battle.

And yet, somehow, Yoongi found himself… adjusting.

Hoseok’s laughter filled the apartment, making the space feel warmer, livelier. He blasted music while cooking, dancing around the kitchen with a spatula microphone, and—against his better judgment—Yoongi caught himself smiling.

Hoseok was obnoxious.

But he was also kind.

One night, when Yoongi fell asleep at his desk after a long day of work, he woke up with a blanket draped over him.

Another time, when Hoseok caught him staring longingly at a piano in a music store window, he dragged him inside and made him play.

“You’re crazy,” Yoongi muttered after a few notes, shaking his head.

Hoseok grinned. “And you’re talented. Now keep playing.”

Somewhere along the way, something shifted.

Month 4

Yoongi found himself waiting up for Hoseok when he was late from dance practice. He started cooking extra portions, grumbling about how Hoseok would just steal his food otherwise.

Hoseok, in turn, started picking up his socks. He wasn’t perfect—there were still dishes in the sink—but he tried.

One night, after an exhausting day, Yoongi collapsed onto the couch beside him.

“Tired?” Hoseok teased.

Yoongi hummed. “Shut up.”

Hoseok grinned before hesitating. “Hey… do you regret this? Living together?”

Yoongi glanced at him, surprised by the sudden sincerity.

He should have said yes.

But he didn’t.

Instead, he mumbled, “Not as much as I thought I would.”

Hoseok’s smile softened, and before Yoongi could process what was happening, Hoseok reached out—tucking a stray strand of hair behind his ear.

Yoongi’s breath hitched.

The air shifted.

“You know,” Hoseok murmured, eyes flickering to Yoongi’s lips, “I think we’ve done pretty well together.”

Yoongi swallowed. “Yeah?”

Hoseok leaned in just slightly. “Yeah.”

And then, closing the distance, Hoseok kissed him.

Yoongi froze, but only for a second—because suddenly, the arguments, the teasing, the late nights waiting up for each other—it all made sense.

His fingers curled into Hoseok’s hoodie, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss in a way that said you drive me crazy, but I don’t want anyone else.

When they pulled apart, Hoseok laughed breathlessly. “Wow. The neat freak actually let loose.”

Yoongi rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t hide his smile. “Shut up and kiss me again.”

So Hoseok did.

And for once, Yoongi didn’t mind one bit.

Living together had been chaos from the start. But after that kiss, everything changed.

The bickering didn’t stop—Yoongi still grumbled when Hoseok left his shoes in the middle of the hallway, and Hoseok still teased Yoongi for alphabetizing the spice rack—but the space between them grew smaller.

The stolen glances lasted longer.

The casual touches lingered.

And at night, when neither of them wanted to admit they were too stubborn to sleep alone, they found themselves curled up on the couch together, Yoongi pretending to be asleep while Hoseok tucked the blanket over them both.

It was natural. Effortless, even.

Until the lease renewal letter arrived.

Month 11

Yoongi held the paper in his hands, staring at the words that had been taunting him all morning.

LEASE EXPIRING IN 30 DAYS.

Hoseok strolled in, yawning, his hair a mess from sleep. “What’s up?”

Yoongi hesitated before handing him the letter. He watched as Hoseok read it, expecting some sort of reaction. A joke, a dramatic sigh—something.

But Hoseok just stared at it, expression unreadable.

“…So, that’s it?” Hoseok finally asked, voice quieter than usual.

Yoongi frowned. “What do you mean?”

Hoseok swallowed, setting the letter on the counter. “We just… go back to separate apartments? Pretend none of this happened?”

Yoongi opened his mouth, then closed it. He hadn’t thought about it—not because it didn’t matter, but because the idea of not living with Hoseok anymore made his chest tighten in a way he didn’t like.

Hoseok ran a hand through his hair, letting out a humorless laugh. “You’re really just gonna let me leave, huh?”

The thought made Yoongi’s stomach drop.

No. He wouldn’t.

But saying it out loud felt terrifying.

Hoseok sighed, turning to walk back toward his room. “Forget it,” he muttered. “Maybe it was stupid to think—”

Yoongi grabbed his wrist.

Hoseok froze.

“…Stay.”

Hoseok turned back, eyes searching his. “What?”

Yoongi exhaled, tightening his grip. “Stay. Renew the lease. Live here. With me.” His heart pounded, but he forced himself to continue. “Not just as a roommate.”

Hoseok’s lips parted slightly, eyes wide.

Yoongi felt his face heat up, but he pressed on. “You make my life infuriating, but somehow, I don’t want to live without it. Without you.” He inhaled shakily. “So… stay.”

Silence stretched between them, the weight of the words settling in.

Then, suddenly—

Hoseok grinned.

“You’re really bad at this, you know?”

Yoongi rolled his eyes. “Don’t push it.”

But before he could complain any further, Hoseok cupped Yoongi’s face and kissed him—soft, warm, filled with every unspoken word Yoongi hadn’t been able to say.

And this time, Yoongi didn’t hesitate.

When they pulled apart, Hoseok smirked. “Guess we better start redecorating, huh?”

Yoongi groaned, but his lips twitched into a smile. “I swear, if you bring in more clutter, I’m revoking my offer.”

Hoseok laughed, wrapping his arms around him. “Too late. You’re stuck with me now.”

Yoongi huffed but didn’t let go.

Maybe—just maybe—he didn’t mind.
