Reborn to Ruin My Ex and Rule His World- By: Tina Marie
Chapter 34 - A Crown Forged in Vengeance
Dawn – The Day of Coronation
The palace bells rang long before the sun cleared the hills.
Shen Lianhua stood in front of the mirror, robed in crimson and gold, her shoulders draped with the phoenix mantle of the Crown Princess.
Not for long.
After today, she would be Empress-Consort—not just by marriage, but by her own merit. Crowned before the court not for her lineage, but for her power, her voice, and her vengeance.
Behind her, Xiao Fen whispered, “They’ll all kneel for you now.”
Lianhua didn’t answer right away.
“He’s already beneath me,” she said quietly. “But somehow… it doesn’t feel like I thought it would.”
“Because revenge ends. But ruling doesn’t.”
Coronation Platform – Imperial Hall
The steps leading to the dragon dais had never felt steeper.
On one side: Li Shenzhao, dressed in royal black, his hand waiting for hers.
On the other: rows of ministers, generals, and nobles—each of whom had once doubted her.
Now they rose when she walked.
The ceremony was long. Declarations. Oaths. Seals placed by trembling hands.
But the final words were hers.
She stepped to the front of the platform and spoke into the wind:
“Today, I rise not as a girl chosen by men.
Not as a pawn used and discarded.
But as a woman who bled, endured, and built.”
“My crown was not gifted—it was earned. In silence, in pain, in steel.”
“Let this reign mark not the end of a woman’s fury… but the beginning of her rule.”
The Empress Dowager closed her fan. And bowed.
The others followed.
Later – Private Imperial Pavilion
The hall was quiet. The guests gone. Only Shenzhao remained, pouring two cups of wine.
He handed her one.
“It’s over,” he said. “You did it.”
“No,” she said, sitting beside him. “We did it.”
He tilted his head. “And now?”
She smiled, soft and tired.
“Now… I want to build something. Not from rage. But from choice.”
“I want to be remembered not just as the woman who destroyed a general…”
She looked at him.
“…but as the Empress who rewrote the game.”
He raised his cup. “To the only ruler I’ll ever follow.”
They drank beneath the lanterns, flame dancing in their eyes.
Wei Xuanzhi’s Cell, Far South
Cold. Dirt. Rotting silence.
Wei Xuanzhi carved something into the stone wall with his fingernail. Over and over again.
Just one name.
Lianhua.
He remembered now.
He remembered everything.
And no one was coming to save him.
