Tastefully Yours- Episodes 3-4
Secret Pasts, Spilled Secrets, and One Very Questionable Fire
If you thought the first two episodes of Tastefully Yours were dramatic, Episode 3 throws the whole kitchen into chaos. We’ve got voicemails, vendettas, mysterious fires, and the great soybean mission of the year. Let’s dig in.
Recipe Theft and Fists on Standby
The episode kicks off mid-drama, with Yeon-joo overhearing Beom-woo leave a drunk voicemail confessing his plan to steal her recipes and destroy both her and his brother. Smooth move. Cue Chun-seung stumbling in again, still drunk and ready for round two. Yeon-joo handles him with zero effort — this woman could moonlight as a bouncer.
Then, in a moment that’s awkward and weirdly tender, Yeon-joo tells Beom-woo she knows he’s just licking his wounds in the countryside after a breakup. He denies having a girlfriend, but she’s not buying it.
Rent Drama and Spicy Payback
The next morning, Beom-woo’s handler texts him: Get the seopsanjeok recipe — it’s go time. But Yeon-joo’s not handing it over that easily.
Before he can scheme further, her landlady storms in, showing the space to new tenants thanks to a rumor the restaurant’s going under. Yeon-joo suspects Chun-seung and marches straight to confront him. There’s nearly a brawl — again — but she pulls Beom-woo back.
As if that’s not enough, the restaurant gets slapped with fire code violations and a health fine for using half-Chinese chili powder. Ouch. In retaliation, Beom-woo and Myung-sook report Chun-seung’s illegal garage extension. Petty war is alive and well.
Road Trip, Soybeans, and Stormy Skies
Yeon-joo needs meju — fermented soybean blocks — and heads out of town to get them. Beom-woo tags along, and after a quiet (but suspiciously romantic) bus ride, they find the supplier, Mr. Chang-su, sidelined with a back injury. No conspiracy, no Chun-seung sabotage — just a hurt old man. So Yeon-joo decides to make the meju herself, dragging Beom-woo into it.
Cue rainstorm. Cue bus stop. Cue close-up moment. Just as things start to sizzle, Beom-woo gets a call: Yeon-joo’s restaurant is on fire.
Accusations, Truths, and Tears
Back at the scene, Chun-seung’s the obvious suspect. He drunkenly admits to breaking the window but swears he didn’t start the fire. When Beom-woo threatens to haul him to the cops, Chun-seung panics and offers hush money. Yeon-joo gives him three days to fix the kitchen instead.
Meanwhile, over in Seoul, Young-hye presents her version of the truffle neobiani to Chairman Han. His review? “Tastes like trash.” Sun-woo tries to recover, but Young-hye overhears everything. Then he makes a call: “Find out what Beom-woo’s up to.”
Culinary Secrets and Jajang Comfort
While cleaning up, Myung-sook finds something unexpected — a Culinary Institute of America degree under the name Sophie Mo. Alongside it? A photo of Yeon-joo with other CIA chefs. That’s right: Yeon-joo has a past she’s hiding.
The kitchen repairs go terribly, Chun-seung breaks down, and Beom-woo finally steps in to help. To lift the mood, Yeon-joo makes Jeonju-style jajang. Even Beom-woo, king of critique, admits it’s incredible.
Then the grocer shows up with a golden opportunity: a food truck contest with a 5-million-won prize — enough to fix the fire damage. There’s just one problem: the deadline is in 15 minutes.
Chun-seung hops on his bike, Beom-woo hops on behind, and they race through town, barely making it in time to submit their entry. Mission: registered.
Exes, Lies, and a Flash of Truth
That night, Chun-seung remembers something: he didn’t set the fire. A flashback confirms someone else was behind it. Dun dun dun.
Then comes the episode’s final bomb: Jang Young-hye shows up. She sees Beom-woo and Yeon-joo together and realizes he’s stealing recipes again. Beom-woo panics and pretends she’s his crazy ex. He yells at her to leave.
Young-hye turns to Yeon-joo and warns her, “Do you even know who he really is?”
Yeon-joo doesn’t flinch. “I’ll find out for myself.”
Gimbap, Games, and a Kiss We Didn’t See Coming
Episode 4 of Tastefully Yours turns the simmering tension into a full boil. Romance starts bubbling, grudges get messier, and a food truck war turns into a showdown that leaves our hearts racing — and our mouths watering.
Lies, Lighters, and Living Next Door
The episode picks up right where we left off: Beom-woo is juggling two explosive women — Yeon-joo, who just overheard half the truth, and Young-hye, who’s ready to spill the rest. To keep his cover intact, he pulls Young-hye away and pretends she’s a crazy ex.
In private, he finally admits something real: Yeon-joo is a chef — and better than Young-hye.
Later that night, he can't stop thinking about her. The next morning, surprise! She’s staying in the room right next to his. Her restaurant’s still a mess, so she’s crashing at the inn. Awkward tension, table for two.
Truck Troubles and Gimbap Drama
It’s food festival time. While Yeon-joo decides to make classic carrot gimbap with zero flair, Beom-woo is stressed. This is a competition, not a picnic. At the site, Myung-sook and Chun-seung show off their barely-holding-it-together food truck, and everyone gears up.
Then comes the punch to the gut: Hansang is suddenly sponsoring the event. Beom-woo runs straight into Sun-woo, who casually doubles the prize money to ten million won — and announces La Lecel is competing too.
Yes, that La Lecel. The one run by his backstabbing brother. And guess who’s cooking? Young-hye. Manager Lee Yu-jin is there too, backing her like Beom-woo never existed. Ouch.
Sales Flop to Hug-That-Lasts-Too-Long
Jungjae’s carrot gimbap stand is getting crickets. Beom-woo finally takes charge and rolls in with premium ingredients. Yeon-joo, reluctantly, agrees to spice things up. Ham, beef, creative combos — the crowd eats it up. Literally. They sell out. Cue a spontaneous, awkward-but-electric hug between Yeon-joo and Beom-woo. Something’s definitely cooking.
But it’s not over — there’s another day to go.
Burnt Kitchens and Moju Miracles
Yeon-joo finds a lighter at the scene of her old kitchen. It’s not Beom-woo’s, and now the arson mystery deepens. At the festival, Hansang is stacking the odds: a pop concert, a meet-and-greet, banners everywhere — all near La Lecel’s truck.
Beom-woo loses it at Young-hye, but Yeon-joo drags him back to reality. With no sales happening, Chun-seung offers his secret weapon: moju, a sweet, traditional herb drink. It’s a hit. Then a customer asks for Yeon-joo’s original gimbap — nothing fancy. And that’s when things take off.
Soon the line is long, the moju is flowing, and — in classic Chun-seung fashion — he boosts sales by telling the crowd Yeon-joo and Beom-woo are a married couple expecting a baby and down on their luck. The chaos works. People love a sob story.
The Win That Doesn’t Taste Right
Despite their surge in popularity, the Jungjae team comes in second. La Lecel wins. But something smells off, and it’s not the truffle oil. Chun-seung claims the results were rigged. Beom-woo starts putting two and two together. He corners Sun-woo, even accuses him of arson. Sun-woo plays innocent — smug as ever.
On the way out, Young-hye gloats. But she also takes a bite of Yeon-joo’s gimbap and has to admit — the taste is next level.
Carrots, Confessions, and That Kiss
Later, Beom-woo finds Yeon-joo winning a game of ddakji against local kids. When they chase her, she grabs his hand and runs. The two end up bickering — again — but this time it boils over.
Frustrated and flustered, Beom-woo blurts it out: he likes her. Before Yeon-joo can even process it, he pulls her close — and kisses her.
DramaZen's Opinion
Okay, Tastefully Yours just went from “this is fun” to “I’m fully obsessed.” Episodes 3 and 4 are packed with everything I love — slow-burn romance, chaotic food drama, and just enough petty revenge to keep things spicy.
First off, Yeon-joo continues to be an absolute queen. She’s resourceful, stubborn, and still somehow adorable while dragging soybeans across town. Beom-woo, on the other hand, is a mess — but a watchable mess. Watching him try (and fail) to stay emotionally detached while clearly falling for Yeon-joo? Priceless.
The food truck competition brought real tension. I was legit mad when La Lecel won — I felt the injustice. And don’t even get me started on Chun-seung lying to the crowd that Yeon-joo and Beom-woo are married and expecting. That guy is chaotic good, and I love it.
And the kiss? Totally unexpected and totally perfect. Beom-woo blurting out his feelings and just going for it? I gasped. Out loud. Alone in my living room.
Bottom line: the drama’s heating up, the food looks amazing, and the chemistry? Off. The. Charts. Let’s go, Episode 5!
