But this isn’t enough to keep her down. After a harrowing encounter with would-be kidnappers, Keum-bo begins plotting her next move.

With the Han family shaken by Myeong-hwi’s death, Chairman Kang announces a surprising twist: his daughter, No-ra, will have a shot at inheriting Hanmin, if she survives a three-month probation as an employee. As the company adjusts to this shocking news, Keum-bo is convinced to go undercover, disguising herself as a secretary to hunt down the hidden slush fund ledger. After a clever makeover and a test run that nearly gets her caught, she takes the entrance exam for Hanmin. Her intelligence and quick thinking win her a job, setting the stage for her infiltration.

The episode closes with Keum-bo moving into the Seoul City Dorm for Single Female Workers, ready to begin her undercover mission alongside her new roommates, including No-ra and Bok-hee. It’s the perfect mix of suspense, clever strategy, and the beginning of a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game inside one of Korea’s most powerful companies.

Keum-bo Goes Full Undercover

Episode 2 of Undercover Miss Hong really leans into the fun and chaos of Keum-bo’s undercover life as she settles into the Seoul City Dorm for Single Female Workers. Disguised as Jang-mi, she immediately clashes with her fourth roommate, Bok-hee, who has the audacity to snoop through her diary. Keum-bo snatches it back in classic Pit Bull fashion, setting the tone for the clever, determined spy we love. Room assignments are sorted, pink decorations are in place, and Keum-bo begins the delicate art of befriending Bok-hee, her first step in getting closer to the elusive slush fund ledger.

Orientation at Hanmin Investment & Securities gives us a peek into office politics and the training the interns must endure, from uniforms to grooming rules. Keum-bo quickly navigates the chaos, sticking close to No-ra (disguised as Eun-joo), who wisely decides to align with Keum-bo’s brains over her own mother’s advice. And, of course, the office drama doesn’t take long to heat up: senior secretaries clash over Bok-hee’s alleged relationship with the late Myeong-hwi, and Keum-bo, ever resourceful, jumps in to defend her, even pretending to faint for comic effect.

Things get more intense when Keum-bo steps into the Risk Management department and comes face-to-face with Albert, the same guy from the movie rental store, and Jung-woo, her former boyfriend, now the new President of Hanmin. Flashbacks show their history, and Keum-bo’s nerves are perfectly understandable as she balances undercover work with complicated personal history. Meanwhile, she starts piecing together team dynamics, evaluating potential allies and threats, and trying to figure out who Yeephee really is.

Keum-bo’s quick thinking shines when she discovers Jung-il’s attempts to sabotage Jung-woo. Teaming up with Bok-hee, she creates a cheat sheet of potential Q&As for Jung-woo’s big meeting, and with some timely distractions and clever coordination, they manage to save the day. Not only does this prove Keum-bo’s ingenuity, but it also cements her subtle influence in the office, even if her true motives remain hidden.

The episode ends on a high-tension cliffhanger: Keum-bo overhears Jung-woo leaving his office while trying to locate the slush fund ledger, panics, and bolts, only to have Jung-woo chase after her. Between the office politics, undercover espionage, and the lingering tension of past relationships, Episode 2 keeps the stakes high and the plot moving at a breakneck pace.

I have to say, diving into Undercover Miss Hong has been such a thrill! From the very first episode, I was hooked on Hong Keum-bo’s fearless, no-nonsense energy. Watching her take down Mr. Cho so decisively... it honestly gave me chills. The way she flips the courtroom, proving just how clever and determined she is, immediately made me root for her. I loved seeing her promotion to Task Manager, though I could feel the tension with her male colleagues brewing. As the only woman in her division, I could really sense how lonely and challenging her journey might be, and it made me appreciate her grit even more.

Episode 1 was a rollercoaster of intrigue and emotion. Keum-bo discovering Hanmin Investment & Securities’ corruption while also navigating her secret alliance with Myeong-hwi was fascinating. I was on the edge of my seat when Myeong-hwi died, it genuinely shocked me, and I felt for Keum-bo, seeing her drive to expose the truth get temporarily stalled. Her determination, though, never wavered. Even when she’s demoted and faced with danger in the streets, I found myself silently cheering for her. And then watching her prepare to go undercover as a secretary at Hanmin… I was so excited for the next chapter of this cat-and-mouse game.

Episode 2 deepened my connection with Keum-bo even more. I found her interactions with her dorm roommates both funny and heartwarming. The way she navigates her new identity as Jang-mi, all while taking notes and making strategic alliances, had me smiling, her intelligence and resourcefulness are so satisfying to watch. I also felt for Bok-hee; even though she initially comes across as a bit nosy, her vulnerability and fear of losing her job made me sympathize with her. And the tension of Keum-bo bumping into Jung-woo, her ex and now the new President, was such a delicious twist. I felt for her as she tried to balance her undercover mission with complicated feelings from the past.

Overall, these first two episodes made me feel invested in every part of Keum-bo’s journey. The mix of suspense, office drama, and clever strategy is perfectly balanced with moments of humor and warmth. I can’t wait to see how Keum-bo maneuvers through the complicated dynamics at Hanmin and who she can really trust. I’m already hooked, and I’m excited to see what happens next!
