After Lin Yu Jing's parents divorce, she and her father relocate to a new city, where she finds herself seated next to Shen Juan, notorious for his "ill-tempered" reputation. Their paths cross and diverge repeatedly—first in high school, then again in university.

Initially anxious about adjusting to her father's new marriage, Lin Yu Jing is pleasantly surprised by the warmth of her stepmother and stepbrother, Fu Ming Xiu, and quickly bonds with her new classmates. Her arrival brings unforeseen changes to Shen Juan, who has been held back a year and struggles with his own issues.

Just as Lin Yu Jing’s life starts to stabilize, her mother, Lin Zhi, forcibly takes her back to their hometown. A year later, as fate would have it, Lin Yu Jing and Shen Juan reunite at university. Shen Juan is grappling with the fallout from his family's hardships and still carries the weight of past trauma. With Lin Yu Jing’s support and the encouragement of their friends, Shen Juan begins to emerge from his dark period. Meanwhile, Lin Yu Jing also discovers her own path forward, finding both personal growth and unexpected connections.
