Crushology 101- Episodes 1-2
Class is officially in session, and the course this semester? Crushology 101, specializing in The Art of Delulu. If you thought this was gonna be a chill campus romance, think again — we’ve got a heroine with a PhD in infatuation, four (yes, FOUR) handsome contenders for her heart, and enough chaos to qualify as an elective in Emotional Math. Let’s dive into this delightfully messy premiere week.
Meet Ban Hee-jin, aka “Bunny” (Noh Jung-eui): lover of beauty, sculptor of statues, and chronic hot-guy enthusiast. Our girl didn’t just land in the sculpture department because of talent — she’s here to immortalize pretty faces in marble. Why admire handsome men from afar when you can carve them into stone, right?
Hee-jin’s dating history is... questionable. Her current boyfriend (cameo king Kim Hyun-mok) isn’t exactly a visual masterpiece, which shocks her friends. But he treats her well — or so it seems, until he accidentally broadcasts to the whole campus that he’s only dating her for bedroom access. Classy. Hee-jin dumps him in style with a punch heard 'round the quad. Goodbye, loser. Hello, new dating policy: only date hot guys, and only if she genuinely likes them.
But heartbreak hurts, and Hee-jin, embarrassed and over it, decides to take a break from school. That is, until the universe sends Cha Ji-won (Jo Joon-young) strolling into her life. Literally. He asks for directions, and Hee-jin takes one look at his face and tears up her leave-of-absence form. We love a girl with priorities.
Ji-won, freshly back from his own school hiatus, is sweet, polite, and handsome with chaebol credentials. He checks every box, but he’s not the only face catching her attention...
Enter Hwang Jae-yeol (Lee Chae-min), Visual Design major, walking green flag if you ignore the pettiness. He’s technically the first love interest we see on screen, but Hee-jin only really notices him after her run-in with Ji-won. Sparks fly — right before his tablet flies out of his hand and crashes thanks to Hee-jin’s dramatic (and unnecessary) K-drama-style attempt to “save” him from tripping. That little oopsie sets her back two grand, and kicks off a very awkward (and hilarious) frenemy arc.
Now let’s talk petty king Jae-yeol. He’s still nursing a bruised ego — and a broken tablet — when Hee-jin drunkenly slaps and pukes on him post-dinner. So what does he do? He drags her to class and makes her take notes for him. He says it’s because he can’t write without his tablet, but let’s be real — boy just wants her nearby. It’s giving “enemies-to-lovers” energy with a sprinkle of "get a grip, sir."
To pay off the tablet debt, Hee-jin picks up a job at an exhibition and runs into Jo Ah-rang (Kim Hyun-jin) — aka Handsome Guy #3. He’s an artistic dreamboat who instantly vibes with Hee-jin over their shared love of sculpture. Coffee is suggested, imaginary baby names are picked, and the web of crushes gets stickier.
Meanwhile, Hee-jin fakes an arm injury to dodge Jae-yeol’s lecture chores, but karma boomerangs when he catches her red-handed — or should we say perfectly fine-handed. The game of revenge continues… until campus hosts a strength competition with a shiny new tablet as the prize. Hee-jin taps into her inner She-Hulk, wins the thing, hands it to Jae-yeol, and gives him the ol’ “Thanks, but let’s never see each other again.” Cold. Savage. Deserved.
Cue the guilt. Jae-yeol realizes maybe he was a little out of pocket, but instead of just texting “sorry,” he goes full second-gen K-drama hero — angry declarations, forced wrist-grabs, and a sprinkle of emotional constipation. Bro, it’s 2025. Therapy exists.
But the romantic tension doesn’t let up. That mysterious sculptor Hee-jin admired at the gallery? Surprise — it's Ah-rang. He gives a guest lecture, Hee-jin swoons, Ji-won watches (and clocks everything), and Jae-yeol shows up just in time to witness Ah-rang brushing a cherry blossom out of her hair like he’s auditioning for a shampoo commercial. Jealousy level: over 9000. He shouts her name like a final K-drama boss, declares he’s not done with her, and BAM — episode two ends with Hee-jin trapped between three very different, very gorgeous guys.
DramaZen's Opinion
This show is my new cute and fluffy k-drama replacement! 🥰
Hee-jin, queen of questionable taste and sculpted delusions, just delivered the most iconic campus breakup of all time — mic drop and fist swing included. Then immediately turned heartbreak into hot-boy fuel like a pro.
We’ve got a love square forming with three flavors of chaos: sweet sunshine Ji-won, petty pretty-boy Jae-yeol (sir, therapy?), and art-nerd dreamboat Ah-rang. Hee-jin’s not just studying sculpture — she’s living her best K-drama life one handsome disaster at a time.
If "The Art of Delulu" was a real class, I’d be front row. Bring on episode 3!
