Check in Hanyang- Episodes 5-6
š Moonlight, Mischief & Major Revelations! š
If you thought the last episodes were dramatic, just WAIT till you see what went down this week!
Things kick off with our favorite cross-dressing heroine, Deok-soo, in a major pickle. Caught wearing a hanbokāof all thingsāby the ever-nosy Myung-ho, Steward Ji saves the day with a wild (but brilliant) bluff: Deok-soo is a āgiftā for a VIP guest. š³ Cue the chaos as the team scrambles to rescue her⦠only for Eun-ho to literally smash through the doorsin dramatic hero fashion.
Exceptāplot twist! The VIP isnāt some old creep but Lady Do-kyung, a high-society girl with a serious attitude problem. Sheās mad about her āruined garmentsā (which, like, werenāt even that ruined) and slaps Deok-soo in retaliation. But surprise, surprise, Lady Seol steps in like the QUEEN she is and shuts that nonsense down real quick. š„
Turns out, Do-kyung is dealing with some major family drama. Her uncle (aka the ruthless Minister of War) wants to marry her off for political gain, and sheās lashing out in the pettiest ways possibleālike making our poor trainees run around chasing her escaped pet parrot. š¦ (Honestly, the bird mightāve been staging its own prison break.)
But instead of fighting fire with fire, Deok-soo goes the soft route. She folds two tiny origami birds and tells Do-kyung, āLife is less lonely with a companion.ā And just like that, we see a hint of warmth in Do-kyungās eyes. Could it be? Is she⦠actually moved? š
As a reward for the whole parrot-palooza, Deok-soo wins the bet and sneaks Do-kyung out for a forbidden night stroll! Their squad gets creative: Soo-ra dresses as a decoy while Do-kyung dons apprentice robes, and off they go for a picnic. š”š And, of course, fate (and fireflies!) lead Deok-soo and Eun-ho to a romantic hand-touching moment under the moonlight. Swoon alert! š
Unfortunately, Myung-ho sees the whole thing and IMMEDIATELY tattles. But plot twistāDo-kyung steps up to defend them! (Character growth? We love to see it.) Just when things seem to settle, Myung-ho just wonāt quit and accuses Deok-soo of being a woman. The audacity! He even tears her clothes, exposing an old battle scarāone that instantly clicks in Lady Seolās mind. Could Deok-soo be Lord Hongās missing daughter?! š¤Æ
Meanwhile, the Second Lead Curse strikes again. š„² Jun-hwa, ever the thoughtful one, books a private bath for Deok-soo. But before he can tell her? Eun-ho beats him to the punch. Someone get this boy a win, PLEASE.
To add even more spice, Myung-ho and his minions try to spy on Deok-soo showeringāonly to be shocked by some seriously shredded abs. šŖ But hold upāitās actually Soo-ra, not Deok-soo. (He really took one for the team there. Best bro award goes to him! š)
After the wildest few days, our apprentices finally pass and get rewarded with a luxurious night at Yongcheonru! Deok-soo and Eun-ho even end up sharing a suite, which naturally leads to bickering, clay face masks, and foot bath shenanigans. š But things take a serious turn when Deok-soo has a nightmare about her fatherās murder. In a rare tender moment, Eun-ho gives her a peach blossom branch to ward off bad dreams. My heart? Gone. š
And just when things seem calm, BOOMāDeok-soo is arrested as a murder suspect at the appointment ceremony. Lady Seol, what are you up to?! š¤Æ
DramaZen's Opinion
āI Need a Moment to Breatheā
This drama just refuses to let us rest, and Iām 100% here for it! š Every week, the stakes get higher, the romances get sweeter, and the tension gets thicker than a royal banquet stew. š²
š„ Favorite Moment: The firefly scene was pure magic. The hand grab?? The eye contact?? Ugh, pure perfection. šāØ
š Most Frustrating Moment: Myung-ho. Thatās it. Just Myung-ho. (Why is he STILL HERE?!)
š Funniest Moment: Soo-raās big-brain disguise moment in the bathhouse. His commitment to the bit? Oscar-worthy. š
Next weekās preview looks INSANE. Who really framed Deok-soo? Whatās Lady Seolās ultimate plan? And is Eun-ho finally going to realize heās in love?! š³ Letās discuss in the comments! ā¬ļøš¬
