My Troublesome Honey- Episode 5-6
Of course, what could have been a sweet almost-kiss quickly turns into a drunken disaster when Rou-Zhu vomits—yet Yun-Ya steps up like a true gentleman. He tenderly cleans her up, tucks her into bed, and even leaves a handwritten note and a lollipop on her nightstand before quietly bidding her goodnight.
Meanwhile, we get a humorous flashback as Yi-Yun wakes up next to Ms. Hou after drunkenly climbing into her bed the night before. In the present, he sneaks out, gathering his clothes as quietly as possible.
The next morning, Rou-Zhu awakens to Yun-Ya's note advising her to take hangover medicine. But as the memory of her attempt to kiss him flashes back, she panics—what exactly happened last night? In typical Rou-Zhu fashion, she convinces herself it was all part of the mission to help Yun-Ya overcome his writer's block.
Back at the law firm, an awkward tension lingers between Yun-Ya and Rou-Zhu, though the rest of the group is blissfully unaware. Even as the boss outlines their next assignment, the group, still hungover, can barely focus, prompting the boss to postpone the meeting.
Later, Yun-Ya meets an old friend who questions his time at the law firm, hinting at rumors about him and his assistant. Before he can leave, she suddenly blurts out a confession: “I like you.” Yun-Ya, with cool composure, gently rejects her, stating, “We’re not right for each other,” before walking away.
Meanwhile, Rou-Zhu confides in her friend Yining about the drunken kiss that didn’t quite happen. Yining teases her for chickening out and gives her advice on how to figure out if she really has feelings for Yun-Ya. At the same time, Collin urges Yun-Ya to admit his feelings for Rou-Zhu, but Yun-Ya doubts she feels the same, which irritates him to no end.
The next day, Rou-Zhu decides to follow Yining’s advice and tests whether Yun-Ya makes her heart race. First, she tries staring at him, leaving him puzzled and asking what she’s up to. When that doesn’t work, she hugs him tightly, but still feels nothing—until Yun-Ya pulls her closer, resting her head against his chest. Her heart pounds, and with the startling realization that she might actually like him, she panics and runs off, leaving Yun-Ya secretly thrilled.
Later, Rou-Zhu shares her discovery with Yining, who isn’t so optimistic. She warns Rou-Zhu that Yun-Ya is surrounded by women with more prestigious backgrounds, especially Tang YiYi, the actress who recently confessed to him at the café. This leaves Rou-Zhu feeling disheartened, thinking she’s out of his league.
Despite Yining’s warnings, Yun-Ya is at home, frantically searching for the perfect outfit—he’s planning to ask Rou-Zhu out on a date. As Rou-Zhu locks up the pet shop, she’s startled to find Yun-Ya waiting for her on her bike. He confidently declares that he’ll let her confess to him, only to be met with frustration. “Why should I be the one to confess?” she retorts, rejecting him on the spot due to his arrogant assumption. Yun-Ya is left stunned, but instead of backing down, he channels his emotions into his novel, determined to win her over.
As Rou-Zhu broods at home, Yining calls with bad news: a photo of Yun-Ya with Tang YiYi is circulating online, and the sight of them together only fuels her anger. She vows to ignore Yun-Ya from now on, setting the stage for even more tension between them at work.
In the law firm’s next meeting, the boss assigns them a new case focused on relationships. To Rou-Zhu’s dismay, she and Yun-Ya are paired together once again. Despite her reluctance, the boss insists she has a talent for matters of the heart and gives her no choice. Later, when they run into each other at a store, their unresolved feelings explode into a heated argument, sparking some undeniably cute—and electric—moments between them!
In Episode 6, tensions between our leads continue to simmer as Yun-Ya unexpectedly shows up at the vet’s office, using Alexander, his perfectly healthy dog, as an excuse. Rou-Zhu, though still upset with him, can’t help but worry. After confirming the dog is fine, she confronts him, quickly realizing that this was just a ploy for her attention. Annoyed, she shoves him out the door, declaring she has no time for his tricks.
When his plan falls flat, Yun-Ya gets a call from Tang Yiyi about her supposedly sick dog. Seizing the chance to see Rou-Zhu again, he agrees to help, unaware that this will only worsen his image in her eyes. Tang Yiyi arrives at the clinic, and with subtle insinuations, makes it seem like she and Yun-Ya are closer than they really are, especially when she sends him off to fetch medicine. Left alone, Rou-Zhu’s curiosity is piqued, and their conversation takes a surprising turn when Tang Yiyi casually reveals that she had once confessed her feelings to Yun-Ya but was rejected. Rou-Zhu, who always saw Tang Yiyi as flawless, is stunned yet oddly relieved. Her confusion about Yun-Ya’s feelings starts to ease.
With a renewed sense of clarity, Rou-Zhu is in high spirits, even cheerfully tidying Yun-Ya’s desk—until a viral photo resurfaces, reigniting rumors of a secret relationship between Yun-Ya and Tang Yiyi. Frustrated, Rou-Zhu steps outside to brood, only to run into Ms. Hou, who sheds light on the situation. Tang Yiyi’s agency often fabricates stories to keep her in the limelight, Ms. Hou explains, but Rou-Zhu’s mood remains dampened.
Meanwhile, Collin rushes into the law firm, alarmed by the scandal, and warns Yun-Ya. Finally understanding why Rou-Zhu has been so distant, Yun-Ya hurries to make things right. At the same time, Ms. Hou whisks Rou-Zhu away to the gym to blow off some steam through boxing. Despite Rou-Zhu’s denial, Ms. Hou can’t help but notice her growing feelings for her brother.
In the middle of their workout, Rou-Zhu receives a panicked call from Yining, who claims to be scared and needs help. Rushing home, Rou-Zhu finds Yining trembling, explaining that her obsessive ex-boyfriend is stalking her. A knock at the door sends both women into a panic, but when Rou-Zhu opens it, expecting Yun-Ya, it’s actually Yining’s deranged ex. He threatens them, refusing to accept their breakup and even blackmails her with compromising photos.
Things escalate quickly as the ex-boyfriend becomes violent, but Yun-Ya, arriving just in time, steps in to defend them. A tense fight breaks out, and although Yun-Ya overpowers him, he gets injured in the process. After calling the police, Rou-Zhu tends to his wounds, scolding him for getting hurt. Yun-Ya, in his typical teasing manner, brushes it off, saying he only did it because she was reckless enough to open the door. She retorts, “I thought it was you,” before blowing on his wound, making him blush. Her teasing only deepens, but it’s clear both of them are feeling something more.
Finally, the moment Yun-Ya has been waiting for arrives—he confesses his feelings for her and nervously asks for her answer. But just as he leans in for a kiss, his stomach growls, ruining the moment. Flustered, Rou-Zhu escapes to the kitchen, cooling her heated face by hiding in front of the fridge. Despite his confession, she’s still in denial—how could someone like him actually have feelings for her?
As the night winds down, the two share some cute, light-hearted moments, including a spontaneous ramen meal. While Rou-Zhu is in the bathroom, Yun-Ya takes the opportunity to clean her room, only to stumble upon her calendar covered with doodles of him. When he teases her about it, she’s mortified but still refuses to admit her feelings.
Before parting ways, Rou-Zhu tells Yun-Ya to take care of his wound properly. In return, he surprises her with a jar of fruit he personally canned for her, a gesture that brings an undeniable smile to her face. Though she still stays silent about her true feelings, the warmth between them is undeniable as she walks away, beaming.
Back home, Yun-Ya, proud of his progress, can’t help but smile at his reflection. Later, he sends a message to Rou-Zhu, clarifying that the rumors about Tang Yiyi were completely false and even posting a public denial online. As Rou-Zhu reads his text while holding the book he signed for her, a sense of happiness and relief washes over her, her feelings for him no longer as uncertain as before.
DramaZen's Opinion
To be honest, I’m a bit baffled by Rou-Zhu’s behavior at this point. On one hand, she was so determined to figure out if Yun-Ya had feelings for her, but now that he’s confessed—multiple times—she’s suddenly pulling back. Is she playing hard-to-get now? I’m not sure why. Even if she thinks their differences in background make it impossible for him to truly like her, he’s literally confessed three times! How much more proof does she need to realize, "Yes, he’s into you!"?
On a different note, I’m really enjoying the cast. They all have great chemistry, and the storyline keeps you hooked just enough to want more. I’m especially intrigued by Ms. Hou—there’s something about her that makes me excited to see her find her own romance. I really hope they dive into her love story soon!
