Spring of Youth- (Final) Episodes 9-10
Secret Pasts, Sweet Confessions, and a Stage Set to Burn
Episode 9 of Spring of Youth is pure adrenaline wrapped in heartbreak, and by the end, we were screaming at our screens. Where do we even start?
We pick up right where we left off...Bom tells Sa Gye she knows he received her mother’s eyes. She’s at peace with it. It starts snowing, and it’s as if her mother is right there with her. It’s soft and emotional, but Sa Gye is torn. Should he tell her the rest? Should he confess what really happened to her mom?
While he wrestles with the truth, Sang-heon orders Kang to dig into Sa Gye’s past and track everything from six years ago. Something’s brewing.
The next morning, Sa Gye and the crew decorate their studio for Tae-yang’s visit. But Tae-yang walks in cold. He declares he was never part of their band and is only there to support Hanju Band. Ouch. Bom doesn’t take that lightly. Before he can leave, she confronts him. He confesses his feelings again, hoping she’ll choose him or at least Jo & Jo, but Bom stands her ground. She’s building her own label and she’s already signed Sa Gye.
Flashbacks remind us just how long Tae-yang has been there for Bom, how he supported her after her mother’s death. But the past isn’t enough to change the present.
Back in reality, Sa Gye’s broke. With no gigs on the horizon, he takes up a food delivery job, on foot. He hides it from the others, but Bom figures it out. She helps him in disguise, riding around as a mystery biker. Yes, we cheered.
Things spiral when Seung-su shows up and steals back the money he gave Sa Gye. But don’t worry, Sa Gye had it all recorded. The betrayal hits hard, especially since Seung-su was the one Sa Gye once protected from guilt after the eye injury. Their confrontation is raw and full of old wounds finally surfacing.
Elsewhere, Jin-gu randomly hops into a stranger’s luxury car. Gyu-ri panics, thinking he’s being kidnapped by a loan shark. She and Ja-young charge in to save him, only to discover it’s… not that serious. The Jin-gu chaos is peak side-character comedy gold.
Back on the emotional rollercoaster, Sa Gye prepares to sell his guitar to pay his tuition. But plot twist—the buyer wires him 100 million won and tells him to keep playing. Turns out, it was Jin-gu. From a car. Like a secret rich benefactor. He then asks to be taken to his father. There’s definitely more to Jin-gu’s story.
Later, Sa Gye meets Seung-su again and asks him to find out whether Sang-heon received medical treatment the night of the accident. Seung-su agrees and Sa Gye’s quiet investigation gets serious.
At the Jo household, Tae-yang asks his dad to sign Bom. When he says he likes her, Min-cheol literally breaks a glass. The tension is real, but Min-cheol says nothing.
Then Sa Gye finally confronts Sang-heon. With new info from an ER doctor, he proves both Sang-heon and Min-cheol were treated for minor injuries after the crash. Sa Gye walks out and tells them he’ll see them again, at the police station.
Seung-su gives him a folder of evidence, and on the way out, Sa Gye runs into Tae-yang. The silence says everything. Tae-yang goes upstairs, overhears an argument between the men, and learns everything. Including their plan to eliminate Sa Gye.
Shaken, Tae-yang is barely holding it together. Ji-na finds him totally out of it ahead of his appearance on The Crown’s special episode. Meanwhile, Sa Gye gets a call from Reporter Han: Two Sa Gye has been invited to perform on that very same special episode.
Bom and the team are hesitant, obviously, it reeks of a setup, but Gyu-ri convinces them to go. Everyone agrees. It’s go time.
On stage, things go sideways fast. Tae-yang’s visibly off during the interview. Then the host announces the surprise guest: Two Sa Gye.
They come out and play the very first song they ever played together.
But Tae-yang sees it. He notices something sparking near the equipment, dangerously close to Sa Gye. That’s when it clicks that this was never a performance. It was a trap.
Without a second thought, he bolts across the stage and tackles Sa Gye just as flames burst out. Both boys go down. Lights out.
That’s how Episode 9 ends...smoke, silence, and two friends-turned-enemies-turned-what-now lying unconscious on the stage.
Truth Bombs, Time Skips, and One Long-Awaited Embrace
Spring of Youth Episode 10 doesn’t just bring closure, it delivers an emotional payoff years in the making, complete with arrests, confessions, and a time skip that left us full of feelings. Let’s get into it.
We jump straight into the chaos onstage. Tae-yang throws himself between Sa Gye and a sabotaged mic, saving his life and passing out in the process. As he’s rushed to the hospital, Sa Gye realizes Tae-yang knew everything about the accident, about his father. The guilt hits hard.
While the group reels, Sa Gye heads straight to Detective Min, convinced the mic swap was no accident. The detective begins his investigation, and sure enough, he discovers the power went out during setup, just enough time to tamper with the equipment.
Seung-su gets in on the action too, stopping Secretary Kang from fleeing and calling the police. Sa Gye talks to Reporter Han, who’s been secretly writing a damning exposé on Min-cheol, detailing how he let an old woman die to save a politician’s reputation.
At the hospital, Tae-yang’s vitals are stable, but he’s still unconscious. Sang-heon and Min-cheol panic. Then, suddenly, Tae-yang disappears. Turns out, he’s gone to visit his mother’s grave. Min-cheol follows and finds him at the cliff’s edge. Tae-yang demands that his father confess or he’ll disappear from his life for good.
Back at home, Ja-young casually drops a bombshell of her own, Secretary Kang made her delete footage of the setup at the show. But guess what? She caught him on video anyway walking into the security room. Just like that, the police arrest Kang and head to Jo & Jo to take Sang-heon down with him.
At the station, things take a sharp turn. Ji-na and Kang try to flip the narrative, accusing Sa Gye and Bom of holding a grudge. But then, Min-cheol walks in and confesses everything about Bom’s mother’s death, the accident, and the cover-up. It’s all out. Bom is devastated. Her pain turns into anger, and she lashes out at Sa Gye for keeping the truth from her. She shuts herself away.
Days pass. One morning, Bom’s room is empty. She’s left a note: she’s going to find what makes her happy. Soon after, Sa Gye vanishes too.
Then comes the time skip, two years later.
Bom returns to Korea, successful and well-known, having sold songs to major artists. Tae-yang, now working with a nonprofit, returns as well. Bom gets a warm welcome from Ja-young, Gyu-ri, and Jin-gu. But no one has heard from Sa Gye since his military discharge, at least that’s what they say.
Turns out, Sa Gye’s been helping his mom run a struggling hair salon. He’s clearly still carrying the weight of everything. But when he buys a bagel from the shop he once visited with Bom, a fan snaps a pic and posts it. It reaches Bom, triggering memories and something more.
That night, Bom thanks Tae-yang for everything and tells him to let go of his guilt. It’s a quiet, kind goodbye. Meanwhile, Sa Gye meets Tae-yang and hands him a flash drive filled with footage from their early band days. Tae-yang tears up watching it.
Elsewhere, Seung-su is now running his own agency and has brought The Crown back. But with their lead singer out sick, he asks Sa Gye to step in, for one night only. Sa Gye sings from behind a curtain, a ghost of his idol self.
And then, the final act.
Jin-gu, still using his anonymous “Game Money” account, texts Sa Gye to get his guitar to Hanju University, knowing Bom will be there. Meanwhile, Jin-gu and Gyu-ri have their own clumsy almost-romantic moment. It’s chaos, as usual.
Bom officially drops out of university to focus on music. Then...fate, of course, she runs into Sa Gye at the spot where they first met. He returns her music box necklace. She asks why he never called. She knew he was the one sending her food in the U.S.
She brings out the fox toy from his concert. The one he said came with a date. She holds him accountable, finally, and he breaks. He hugs her. He promises never to leave again.
And just like that, Two Sa Gye is back. The episode ends with the band reunited, performing her song—together, at last.
DramaZen's Opinion
The final episodes of Spring of Youth were everything I'd hoped for and more. Emotional chaos? Check. Long-awaited justice? Absolutely. A full-circle rooftop reunion with a fox plushie? You know it.
Episode 9 hit me with truth bombs left and right. Sa Gye confronting Sang-heon and Min-cheol? Satisfying. Tae-yang diving into danger to save Sa Gye? Hero move of the season. And when Min-cheol finally confessed? I was holding my breath.
But nothing prepared me for Episode 10. Bom learning the truth about her mother. Her heartbreak. Her decision to disappear. And then, that two-year time skip. Bom thriving. Tae-yang healing. Sa Gye... quietly missing her, running from everything, still carrying the weight.
And then they met again.
At the place it all began.
Necklace returned. Feelings confessed. Fox plushie redemption. That final hug? I melted. And watching Two Sa Gye reunite and perform Bom’s song was the perfect ending.
These last episodes gave all of us closure, catharsis, and one last reminder of why we fell in love with this show. Spring of Youth was never just about music... it was about healing, growing, and coming home. What a journey! 🥰
