Undercover High School- Episodes 3-4
Ghost Stories, Hidden Keys, and a High-Stakes Showdown
Episode 3 of Undercover High School keeps the momentum going with more mystery, power struggles, and unexpected twists. From eerie ghost stories to intense bullying conflicts, Hae-seong is knee-deep in danger, both in his mission and in school life. Let’s break it all down!
Picking up from the last episode’s cliffhanger, Hae-seong and Dong-min uncover what appears to be a corpse hidden beneath the ballet studio floorboards. But wait—plot twist! The ‘body’ is actually plastic. Inside a pair of ballet shoes, Hae-seong finds a mysterious key. Before he can investigate further, Principal Park catches them. Thinking fast, Hae-seong plays it cool, claiming they were just curious students following a ghost story.
Later, Hae-seong debriefs his NIS team. The key bears the seal of Seo Byeong-mun, proving that the school’s ghost stories may actually be riddles leading to the long-lost gold bars. With four ghost stories in total, Hae-seong realizes he needs to solve them all. Meanwhile, Chairwoman Seo Myeong-ju comes to the same conclusion, setting up a race for the hidden treasure.
At school, Hae-seong asks Dong-min to share the next ghost story. Just as things get interesting, Soo-a gets a distressing call from Dong-min’s grandmother—her ID has been taken by the school. But the name registered? Jeong Hae-seong. Suspicious!
Dong-min spills the second ghost story: a grandfather clock donated by Seo Byeong-mun. Legend has it that if you’re alone in the school and the clock chimes, “crimson eyes will come for you.” Spooky, right? But before Hae-seong can dig deeper, Soo-a confronts him about the stolen ID and demands he meet her at the counseling office after school.
Meanwhile, Director Kim receives a shocking report—the golden statue Hae-seong retrieved in Episode 1 is a forgery! Realizing this could jeopardize the entire mission, he shreds the evidence, keeping the secret under wraps.
Hae-seong, always one step ahead, dodges the counseling session with a quick excuse about leaving his stove on. Instead, he corners the school’s security guard, accusing him of being the figure seen in the ballet studio. Under pressure, the guard confesses: while feeding a stray cat, he stumbled upon a hidden entrance to the old building. Inside, he found the skeleton and accidentally dropped his phone. When Dong-min saw him, he panicked and fled, only returning later with a hammer to cover up the floorboards. Mystery solved—sort of.
In a hilarious turn of events, Hae-seong’s team has set up a sandwich shop near the school as their undercover HQ. Nothing says espionage like… sandwiches?
Meanwhile, Soo-a catches Tae-soo tormenting Dong-min again. Dong-min bravely demands his grandmother’s ID back. Tae-soo returns it—but cruelly stomps on Dong-min’s hand when he reaches for it. Soo-a steps in, demanding Tae-soo report to her office. But Tae-soo, ever the arrogant bully, throws her status as a temp teacher in her face, daring her to do something about it. Even Dong-min downplays the incident, resigned to his fate.
Later, Hae-seong sees an elderly woman struggling in the middle of the road as Ye-na’s car honks impatiently at her. He steps in to help—and realizes the woman is none other than Dong-min’s grandmother. She’s overjoyed to learn that Hae-seong is Dong-min’s friend and even gives him a little money to spend with her grandson. Dong-min then confesses to Hae-seong about the stolen ID but is too scared to tell Soo-a the truth. Before parting ways, Hae-seong gives Dong-min his number, offering him a lifeline.
Soo-a confides in her colleague Ri-an about Tae-soo’s actions, but even Ri-an warns her against taking action. Tae-soo’s father is a powerful assemblyman, and going against him could cost her job.
Later, Hae-seong and Soo-a have an unexpected grocery store run-in, leading to a playful argument over a drink. Soo-a finally acknowledges she was wrong about Hae-seong and apologizes. Hae-seong, ever the smooth operator, hands her a banknote from Dong-min’s grandmother, telling her to be a good friend to the boy. As she watches him pick the peas out of his food, a memory resurfaces—someone from her childhood used to do the same thing. Hmm… could there be a deeper connection?
Just as things seem to settle, the police arrest Dong-min’s grandmother, accusing her of being linked to an illegal gambling website. Desperate, Dong-min calls Hae-seong for help. Hae-seong and Soo-a rush to the scene, and Hae-seong quickly realizes this is all Tae-soo’s doing. He tells Soo-a that this is the moment she needs to step up.
The next day, an anonymous post surfaces on the school’s discussion board, exposing Tae-soo’s bullying and framing of Dong-min’s grandmother. The school erupts into chaos, and the vice principal calls for a meeting between Tae-soo and Dong-min’s parents—with Chairwoman Seo Myeong-ju in attendance. The shocking twist? Soo-a was the one who posted it!
Later that night, Hae-seong tries using the mysterious key on the grandfather clock but is caught red-handed by Myeong-ju herself. She cryptically hints at knowing more than she lets on and offers her “help” if he ever needs it. Dangerous game, Hae-seong.
Meanwhile, Dong-min visits his grandmother in jail, promising to clear her name. But when he returns home, he finds a chilling sight—Tae-soo, sitting outside his house, waiting for him.
The next day, the school holds an anti-bullying committee session, with Hae-seong in deep trouble. Before the vice principal can officially expel him, Hae-seong makes an epic entrance—riding his bike straight into the school with the owner of the gambling website in tow! Now that’s how you turn the tables.
The episode ends with a heartbreaking flashback: a young Hae-seong—known as Si-hyun back then—being bullied for being an orphan. Despite pressure from other parents, he refuses to apologize for simply existing. Seok-ho, his guardian, sees what he’s going through and ultimately decides to let him study at home instead, shielding him from the cruelty of the world.
Expulsions, Ghost Stories, and an Unexpected Kiss
Episode 4 of Undercover High School kicks things into high gear with major takedowns, secret riddles, and romantic tension brewing in the air. From knocking out criminals to unearthing the next piece of the school’s mystery, Hae-seong has his hands full. Let’s dive into the chaos!
The episode opens with Hae-seong tracking down Gu Sang-tae, the owner of the gambling ring. In true action-hero fashion, he takes down Sang-tae’s goons before knocking the man out cold. Just as things get intense, Young-hoon, Seok-ho, and Mi-jung arrive to back him up. But instead of praising him, Seok-ho scolds Hae-seong for keeping the bullying situation to himself, reminding him that they are a team and he doesn’t have to handle everything alone.
Hae-seong drags Sang-tae to the school’s anti-bullying committee, where he confesses everything—Tae-soo was a VIP gambler who paid his debts with stolen ID cards. With solid evidence, including a flash drive containing CCTV footage of Tae-soo’s dealings, the case against him is sealed. This time, even Dong-min finds the courage to speak up.
Myeong-ju later informs Tae-soo’s father that his son will be expelled due to his criminal activities. The assemblyman tries to intimidate her, but Myeong-ju is unshaken. Instead, she orders Principal Park to handle him—literally—resulting in a brutal beatdown. With Tae-soo out of the picture, Myeong-ju instructs Park to intensify their search for the hidden gold bars.
Soo-a later confirms the news to Hae-seong—Tae-soo is officially expelled. Grateful for her anonymous online post that exposed Tae-soo’s crimes, Hae-seong thanks her. When he plucks a stray petal from her hair, Soo-a’s heart unexpectedly flutters, catching her off guard.
Dong-min narrates the second ghost story to Hae-seong. It tells of a student who always ranked second to her best friend. Envious of her friend’s top grades, she pushed her off the roof to her death. Later, when she was alone at school, the grandfather clock chimed, and she was haunted by crimson-red eyes. Chilling, right?
Dong-min reveals that there are four ghost stories in total—but no one knows the fourth one. Over a meal at Hae-seong’s team’s sandwich shop (where he hilariously pretends to be a part-time worker), the duo strategizes their next move.
Meanwhile, Ye-na and Yoo-jung go shopping, with Yoo-jung awkwardly carrying all of Ye-na’s bags. During their outing, Yoo-jung picks up on something—Ye-na has her eye on Hae-seong.
At the same time, Soo-a finds herself constantly distracted by thoughts of her fluttering heart. She recalls a childhood memory of a boy who may or may not have been Hae-seong. Her reverie is cut short when Vice Principal Baek, still nursing a grudge, assigns her as the new advisory teacher for the student council.
Hae-seong tries (and fails) to open the grandfather clock again. As Yoo-jung hangs a student council recruitment poster, he helps her, only to realize something startling—there’s a twin grandfather clock in the student council’s meeting room! This could be the next clue.
Ye-na, always watching, sees the interaction between Yoo-jung and Hae-seong and grows suspicious.
When Hae-seong tries to enter the student council room, Ye-na intercepts him, suggesting that he should become a student council member. She even offers him an expensive gift, but Hae-seong firmly rejects it, telling her to invest in workbooks instead of luxuries.
To qualify for the student council, Soo-a informs Hae-seong of the requirements—he must rank 10th or higher in the next exam, collect 100 signatures, and get permission from the student council president (Ye-na).
Meanwhile, Dong-min shocks everyone by suddenly befriending Tae-soo’s former lackeys. Turns out, they actuallyapologized to him and even let him hit them with a bat as payback. Now, they’re on Team Hae-seong, trying (and failing) to help him gather signatures.
The biggest challenge? Hae-seong’s low grades—and midterms are only a week away.
To help Hae-seong, his team members set up a free food stall and even host a dance performance to draw attention to his campaign. The strategy works—signatures roll in! But within the student council, tensions rise. Ye-na seems eager for Hae-seong to join, while another member accuses him of being a traitor for getting Tae-soo expelled. Surprisingly, Yoo-jung doesn’t want Hae-seong to join either, leaving Ye-na puzzled.
Later, Yoo-jung warns Hae-seong to stay away from the student council. She even threatens to expose his real identity if he doesn’t listen. When Hae-seong tries to talk to her again, she refuses to respond.
Myeong-ju instructs Principal Park to monitor Hae-seong and the grandfather clocks closely. Ye-na walks in, and after Park leaves, Myeong-ju coldly advises her to focus on her studies. She hands Ye-na ADHD medication, emphasizing that only first place is worth remembering.
The next morning, Hae-seong gets a surprise call—he’s been summoned for one-day military training! Since his undercover status isn’t known, he can’t refuse. He calls Soo-a, faking a cold as an excuse to take time off.
That night, Soo-a decides to check on him and announces she’s coming over with medicine. Panic ensues—Hae-seong’s fake house isn’t ready! Seok-ho and his team scramble, borrowing furniture and household items from neighboring apartments to make it look lived-in.
When Soo-a arrives, the team hides in the closet while she fusses over Hae-seong. A hilarious disaster unfolds—Hae-seong spills porridge on her, forcing her to use the bathroom. Just as she’s about to leave, she trips, bringing Hae-seong down with her… and they accidentally kiss!
Meanwhile, in the closet, Young-hoon struggles to suppress a sneeze. In a desperate (and totally unexpected) move, Mi-jung kisses him to keep him quiet. The plan backfires—Young-hoon gets so flustered that he stumbles out of the closet, exposing the entire team to Soo-a’s wide-eyed shock.
The episode closes with Soo-a flipping through an old photo album. She stares at a childhood picture of herself with a familiar boy—young Si-hyun, who was none other than Hae-seong. A memory resurfaces: back then, her name was Bong-ja, and she used to scold Si-hyun for refusing to eat his peas.
