The Divorce Insurance- Episodes 9-10
“Betrayals, Breakthroughs, and a Christmas Surprise”
If Episode 9 of The Divorce Insurance had a theme, it would be truth bombs and emotional whiplash. Between Na-rae’s fall from grace, Han-deul’s heartbreaking family moment, and the team rallying to save their stolen product, this episode packed in corporate backstabbing, real vulnerability, and one extremely thoughtful Christmas tree.
Let’s get into it.
We open with Na-rae dropping the bomb: the task force is over. Everyone’s stunned, but when she locks eyes with Jeon-man, she hesitates — and we cut to a flashback. Turns out, her shady VP warned her that Best General Insurance (BGI) is launching a copycat divorce policy. If they get caught in the overlap, it’s game over.
Na-rae reveals the truth to the team: their product is temporarily on hold. Han-deul looks crushed — especially since BGI’s president Jeong-shin is her old classmate and clearly knew about their work. Jeon-man brings up the idea of a mole. Han-deul agrees and suspects the flyer complaint wasn’t random — it was sabotage.
Meanwhile, Jeong-shin orders her people to clean up loose ends. Yikes.
Back at Plus General Insurance, things get worse: the audit team claims data was leaked from Han-deul’s computer. She’s suspended on the spot.
Na-rae is off on her own mission. Jeon-man follows her and overhears her confrontation with the VP — who, plot twist, reminds her she helped plan to steal the product and pitch it in China under her own name. He mocks her “righteous” act and tells her to keep stealing. The kicker? She looks genuinely torn.
Jeon-man later tells her to do the right thing. She admits she can’t show her true feelings, but Jeon-man sees through her — and urges her to listen to her heart.
As if Han-deul’s week isn’t hard enough, her parents call her to a family event — but only if she brings her ex-husband. When she refuses, they shame her for “failing” at marriage. Ki-jun is outside waiting, and she breaks down crying in front of him. He doesn’t say much — just stays by her side. And it’s exactly what she needs.
Na-rae finally reaches her breaking point. She spills coffee on her boss (deserved) and walks out. At a convenience store, she breaks down, remembering all the good times with the team. Jeon-man finds her and quietly sits beside her — no judgment, no questions. Just presence.
She returns to the office and confesses everything. Yes, she once planned to launch the product in China. Yes, she suggested stealing data. But she didn’t betray them to BGI. Han-deul thanks her for coming clean. Forgiveness. Growth. Actual teamwork.
Time to clear Han-deul’s name and take down the mole. Using a photo from the vow renewal ceremony, they prove she was in Gorangae when the breach happened.
Dae-bok sends Ki-jun and Jeon-man to track down Oh Jeong-do — who, of course, folds instantly. He hands over a voice recording of the VP instructing him to send stolen data to Jeong-shin. Na-rae uses that very evidence to confront her old classmate, and Jeong-shin cancels the deal.
The VP, predictably furious, threatens Na-rae, but she’s done playing. She has the audit team drag him out.
Iconic.
Na-rae prepares to leave. She confesses to Jeon-man that she’s heartbroken to leave the team. He holds her hand in the elevator. It’s tender, wordless, and low-key romantic.
The next day, the team is back in action. Product saved. Task force reinstated. Ki-jun, in full boyfriend mode, sets up Christmas decorations at his place for Han-deul — knowing her family always made holidays feel cold. It’s soft, thoughtful, and exactly the joy she needed. She apologizes for her mom’s behavior. He says it doesn’t matter.
They eat dinner. It’s perfect.
At a team pizza party, everyone’s glowing — except Jeon-man, who’s missing Na-rae. Suddenly, Kim Seon-man from the FSS shows up.
He wants a divorce.
Cue record scratch.
Turns out, his wife Han Yeo-reum is a famous influencer who posts non-stop about their perfect marriage — but Seon-man confesses to Han-deul that it’s all a lie. Their relationship is loveless, and Yeo-reum is falling apart under the pressure.
Afterward, Ah-yeong says Yeo-reum still loves him and wants to help fix things.
Han-deul? She isn’t so sure.
“Some people are better off apart.”
“Couples Therapy, Closure, and a Long-Awaited Kiss”
Episode 10 of The Divorce Insurance is all about facing the past, embracing the mess, and finally, finally getting to that kiss we’ve all been waiting for. From influencer facades to family confrontations and a surprisingly emotional shrimp allergy, this episode brings heart, heat, and healing — and somehow makes room for a sologamy wedding gift and arcade flirting too.
We dive straight into the marriage of Han Yeo-reum and Kim Seon-man. On the surface, it’s a fairytale: love at first sight, perfect Instagram marriage. But behind the filters? It’s cracking.
-
Flashbacks show Yeo-reum curating her life for followers.
-
Kim, exhausted by the performance, tells her he wants out — not because he doesn’t care, but because he’s been erased in the process.
Yeo-reum refuses divorce, still hoping to fix things. Meanwhile, Kim tells Han-deul he just wants to live for himself. Han-deul recalls Ki-jun’s ex-wife’s words: you don’t get to judge someone’s pain. She respects his choice.
The case sparks debate among the team — should they intervene? Should they just let the couple go? Dae-bok, in full team-dad mode, reminds them how many couples they’ve helped. Inspired, they agree to suggest couples therapy, not force it.
Unknowingly, both Han-deul and Ki-jun give Kim and Yeo-reum the same advice: try therapy. Talk. Understand each other before walking away.
Han-deul’s parents, still the worst, bombard her with messages blaming her for “embarrassing the family.” A brutal flashback shows her mom telling her to get over herself and stay married to her cheating ex, Su-in. Yikes.
-
Na-rae & Jeon-man: He invites her over. Slippers. Extra chair. Soft lighting. It’s low-key romantic. He convinces her to rejoin the team for the launch, not out of guilt, but because she earned it. She’s touched — and maybe falling.
-
Dae-bok: Alone, tired, ignored by his wife and son. He finally calls his kid (for the first time ever) just to say he wants to attend graduation. His son brushes him off. It’s quietly devastating.
Yeo-reum and Kim agree to therapy and even go on a no-phone outing. It starts cute. Then she feeds him shrimp — he pukes. Oops.
They try a couple’s dance class (led by the unstoppable Woong-sik). It ends in disaster. Kim explodes over her loudness, her performative affection. She snaps back that he never sees her.
In the middle of it all, Ki-jun reminds Kim that love means expectations. That caring this much means there’s something still there. He also reassures Kim: he’s doing his best, even if it doesn’t feel like enough.
Meanwhile, Woong-sik gifts Ah-yeong a sologamy wedding kit — not to win her over, but because he genuinely wants her to be happy. She’s touched.
At long last, Han-deul confronts her ex and her awful family. She invites Su-in to a family event and drops truth bombs:
-
He had multiple affairs.
-
She divorced him because she deserved better.
-
She’s not forgiving his debt.
She pulls out the divorce insurance policy, looks straight at her mother, and walks out. When Su-in tries to hit her, she throws the infamous bidet screw in his face.
Mic. Dropped.
Back with Ki-jun, Han-deul is glowing — free, proud, and finally herself. She says she wouldn’t change a thing.
And Ki-jun?
He kisses her.
Cue screaming.

Redemption Arcs and That Kiss (!!)
Episodes 9 and 10 of The Divorce Insurance gave us everything: Na-rae’s redemption, Han-deul’s emotional mic drop, and a long-awaited kiss that made all the slow-burn tension so worth it.
Na-rae finally broke free from her corrupt VP, confessed everything, and earned her place back on the team — with Jeon-man quietly cheering her on. Han-deul stood up to her toxic family and her sleazy ex in one of the most satisfying scenes yet (that screw toss? ICONIC). And Ki-jun? Supporting her the whole way, with a kiss that felt earned, sweet, and perfectly timed.
Bonus points for the emotional Seon-man/Yeo-reum storyline, Woong-sik being a lovable king, and Dae-bok trying to reconnect with his son. The show’s heart just keeps getting bigger.
The Divorce Insurance is peaking — and I’m so ready for what’s next.
Only two episodes left!!!!!!
