Study Group- Episode 2
The Blowback
Hey Study Group fans! Episode 2 picks up right where we left off, delivering more tension, action, and unexpected revelations. Let’s break it down!
Han-gyeong rushes to the classroom after hearing a commotion, only to find a burning bag, an unconscious Hyeon-wu, and Ga-min standing over him. She quickly puts out the flames just as the inspector and principal arrive, and naturally, they pin the blame on Ga-min. Before his disciplinary hearing, Se-hyeon sneaks in to thank him, but the real trouble for Hyeon-wu begins when Pi Han-ui drags him to the rooftop for a not-so-friendly chat.
In the principal’s office, Ga-min is on the verge of expulsion until Han-gyeong steps in. She calls out the injustice of punishing a victim for defending himself, embarrassing the principal in front of the inspector. The inspector, recognizing Han-gyeong as last year’s top recruit in the teacher exam, is intrigued by her potential. He gives her a chance to make a difference, and she proposes forming a study group to help the students academically. The inspector supports the idea, but the principal is determined to make sure she fails, giving her only two weeks to make it work.
Meanwhile, Ga-min continues training in secret and grows closer to Se-hyeon as they search for study group members. Unfortunately, Ga-min’s reputation as a fierce fighter works against him—students fear joining the group might put them in Pi Han-ui’s crosshairs. Even Geon-yeob, who Ga-min personally invites, declines, warning him that his efforts could bring more trouble.
As time passes with little success, Han-gyeong becomes concerned about Hyeon-wu’s absence from school. She tries tracking him down but has no luck. To lift spirits, she takes Ga-min and Se-hyeon out, treating them to books, supplies, and food while getting to know them better. But after the evening ends, Ga-min realizes he accidentally left his new book in Han-gyeong’s bag.
Back at her apartment, Han-gyeong walks into a nightmare—Hyeon-wu and his gang have broken in. Hyeon-wu, clearly acting on someone’s orders, warns her against meddling at Yusung Technical High School. Before she can escape or call for help, Ga-min tries to contact her, but Hyeon-wu knocks the phone away. Just when things look grim, Geon-yeob bursts in to help her escape. The two hide in the parking lot, but the gang finds them, leading to another brutal showdown.
Han-gyeong tries reasoning with Hyeon-wu, but he responds with violence. Geon-yeob fights back but is overwhelmed—until Ga-min arrives and takes down the gang with his impressive combat skills. As the bullies flee, Hyeon-wu tries a desperate move, attempting to stab Ga-min, but Geon-yeob stops him just in time. Hyeon-wu then taunts Geon-yeob about his mother’s death, sending him into a rage. Geon-yeob demands answers, hinting that Pi Han-ui is connected to his mother’s mysterious demise. Before leaving, Geon-yeob warns Han-gyeong and Ga-min to tread carefully—no one defies Pi Han-ui without consequences.
The next day, Han-gyeong returns Ga-min’s book and considers calling the police. Before she can, one of Hyeon-wu’s gang members shows up at her door, apologizing and confessing that he is acting under duress.
At school, Ga-min and Se-hyeon continue feeling discouraged as no one signs up for their study group—until they receive a surprise application from a girl, confirming that Yusung Technical High School is, in fact, co-ed.
