Chaos, Conspiracies, and a Shocking Betrayal!

Hey, Study Group fans! Episode 7 came in swinging with jaw-dropping twists, high-stakes drama, and an emotional rollercoaster that left us all on the edge of our seats. If you thought things were intense before, buckle up because this episode just took things to a whole new level!

The episode kicks off with a tense school assembly as the Vice Principal drops a bombshell—Yusung Technical High is under inspection, and guess who’s getting blamed? Yep, Han-gyeong. According to him, her presence is a problem, and he doesn’t hesitate to throw her under the bus. But does she back down? Absolutely not! Han-gyeong stands her ground, making it crystal clear that she’s not going anywhere. As she speaks, we get a touching flashback of her having dinner with her mentor, Jung-wa, followed by the heartbreaking moment at her funeral. Her resolve to clean up Yusung Technical High is stronger than ever.

But just as the tension is at its peak, Ga-min storms in and PUNCHES Pi Han-ui right in the face! Cue gasps from literally everyone. Pi Han-ui retaliates, and the legend of Ga-min only continues to grow.

Meanwhile, on the rooftop, Sun-chul and the other guards are butting heads, but things take a darker turn when Pi Han-ui begins plotting against Sun-chul. He wants to test whether Han-gyeong will come to his rescue, and let’s just say, his mastermind villain era is in full swing.

We finally get a deeper look into Sun-chul’s life, and it’s heartbreaking. He’s only in the gang to pay for his grandfather’s hospital bills, but he’s barely keeping up. When he visits his grandfather at the hospital, fate throws him into Ga-min’s path. They chat, and Ga-min—being the absolute cinnamon roll that he is—tries to convince Sun-chul to join the study group. But before their conversation can go anywhere, Sun-chul gets an ominous warning. The gang is coming for him.

Ga-min watches helplessly as two gang members take Sun-chul away, but not before Sun-chul leaves his phone behind. When Ga-min picks up a call from Sun-chul’s grandfather, the scene takes a wholesome turn—Grandfather asks Ga-min to help Sun-chul, even making him help study for his English test (bless this man).

But the peace doesn’t last long. The next day, news breaks that a murder has taken place, and Sun-chul is the prime suspect. Ga-min is shook. He tells the detective everything he knows—except for the fact that Sun-chul was warned he’d have a long night ahead.

Now, the study group starts questioning everything. Could Sun-chul actually be guilty? Or is there something even darker at play?

Se-hyeon takes the spotlight next with a powerful presentation on the rise of minors committing serious crimes—coincidentally, ever since Pi Han-ui appeared on the scene. He theorizes that the gang is using minors to do their dirty work, promising them a bright future in exchange for taking the fall. The implications are chilling.

That night, Dae-chul—one of the gang members—approaches Ga-min in desperation. Before he can fully explain, another gang member attacks him! Ga-min steps in, and after a scuffle, Dae-chul drops a bombshell—he saw Seong-wung cleaning the murder weapon.

The study group knows Sun-chul is being set up. Time for some undercover action!

Armed with new intel, Ga-min, Ji-woo, and Lee-joon sneak into the gang’s headquarters (because obviously, what could go wrong?). Meanwhile, Se-hyeon and Hee-won stay behind to keep watch. But things immediately spiral out of control when the group gets separated.

💥 Ji-woo sneaks into an office, searching for the murder weapon. 💥 Ga-min ends up trapped on the rooftop, frantically trying to get back inside. 💥 Lee-joon stays behind to brawl with a gang member, proving once again why he’s an absolute beast.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Pi Han-ui and his top gang officials hold a recruitment ceremony (yep, because gangs have HR now). He officially welcomes Sun-chul into the family, gifting him a bag full of cash. Sun-chul doesn’t seem thrilled, but before he can react, Detective Na arrives—and in a shocking move, Sun-chul confesses to the murder. In front of everyone.

What. Just. Happened?!

Meanwhile, Ji-woo finally finds the knife, but before she can escape, she gets caught by Seon-ho, one of the gang members. And as if things couldn’t get worse, Ga-min is still locked on the rooftop, fighting to break free. Talk about a cliffhanger!

Twists, Tests, and a Tearful Goodbye

Hey Study Group fans! Episode 8 packed a punch (literally) with high-stakes action, emotional moments, and a major shake-up at Yusung Technical High School. Let’s dive in!

The episode opens with Dae-chul and Min-chul anxiously watching over Sun-chul’s grandfather at the hospital. But instead of sitting around twiddling their thumbs, they decide to take action—rushing to the gang’s headquarters to see what’s happening.

And trust me, things at headquarters are not looking good. Lee-joon is still brawling with a gang member while Ji-woo finds herself cornered by Seon-ho and Jae-seung. One brutal hit to the head later, Ji-woo faints, and Seon-ho wastes no time tossing her and the murder weapon into his car. Meanwhile, Pi Han-ui, completely unaware of the infiltration happening right under his nose, casually walks out of the building like it’s just another day in the office.

Back at home, Han-gyeong calls Ga-min, thinking he’s studying (hilarious assumption, tbh). She wants to talk about the revision papers she gave him, but before he can even pretend to care, Ga-min sees something terrifying—Seon-ho loading Ji-woo into a car. He immediately cuts the call and rushes to the locked door, desperately trying to break free.

At the same time, Min-hwan shoots down Hee-won’s drone, cutting off all communication between the team. Things are looking bad.

Meanwhile, Detective Na parks outside and tries one last time to get through to Sun-chul. He knows Sun-chul is innocent, but as long as he keeps protecting Pi Han-ui, there’s nothing he can do. Sun-chul is desperate—he needs money for his grandfather’s medical bills, and Pi Han-ui has promised him good lawyers.

But something clicks in Sun-chul’s mind. Does he really want to sell his soul for money? At the last moment, he decides to be the good man his grandfather raised him to be.

Just as Seon-ho is about to leave, Sun-chul snaps—attacking him with everything he’s got. Ji-woo wakes up and tries to help, but Seon-ho is too strong. Dae-chul and Min-chul arrive just in time, but even they struggle against Seon-ho.

Just when all hope seems lost, Ga-min FINALLY breaks free and rushes in, pummeling Seon-ho like the hero we know he is. With all the evidence in place, Detective Na arrests Seong-wung, exposing the real culprit. And in a moment we’ve all been waiting for, Ga-min convinces Sun-chul to join the study group!

With Sun-chul finally back at school, the study group shifts gears—it’s time for midterms! The students buckle down and hit the books, but as soon as the exams are over, Ga-min spirals into a pit of self-doubt, wondering if he got any of the answers right (classic Ga-min). The rest of the group, on the other hand, is just relieved to be done.

Meanwhile, Sun-chul officially enrolls in a reformation program at the police station, marking a huge turning point for his character. And just as the group is ready to relax, they get an urgent call—Sun-chul’s grandfather’s health is rapidly declining.

As they rush to the hospital, they realize Sun-chul isn’t there yet. He’s been ambushed by his old gang members, who are out for blood. While they wait, Ga-min steps up in the most touching way possible—keeping Grandfather company by helping him finish his last English test. It’s a beautiful full-circle moment that buys just enough time for Sun-chul to arrive. Just in time to say goodbye. 😭💔

A few days later, the students get their report cards, and—plot twisteveryone, including Ga-min, has improved by 10 points! That means Han-gyeong finally gets to cash in on the Dean of Academic Affairs’ promise—to hold a disciplinary hearing for Pi Han-ui. With no way to back out, the Dean signs the papers. The next day, the entire school is shook by the announcement.

The study group wastes no time confronting Pi Han-ui. They want to know what his next move is, but, being the villain he is, he’s already ten steps ahead. Instead of fighting back directly, he manipulates the students into turning on each other. The episode ends in absolute chaos—students are fighting everywhere, and Pi Han-ui? He just stands back and watches the world burn.

Opinion of Study Group (2024)

Intensity, Chaos, and Big Wins!

Episodes 7 and 8 of Study Group turned up the heat with high-stakes fights, emotional moments, and major power plays. We got Ga-min’s legendary punch to Pi Han-ui (instant classic!), Sun-chul’s heart-wrenching redemption arc, and a midterm miracle that finally put the study group on the map. But just when we thought they were catching a break—BOOM! Pi Han-ui masterfully turns the entire school against itself, proving he’s still the ultimate puppet master.

The action was top-tier, the emotional weight hit hard (RIP Sun-chul’s grandfather 😭), and the study group’s growth made every moment feel earned. But with the school in chaos and Pi Han-ui still ten steps ahead, the war is far from over.

Rating: 10/10 🔥🔥🔥 This show just keeps getting better! What’s next for Ga-min and the crew? We NEED Episode 9 ASAP!
