The Trunk- Episode 6
Episode 6 of The Trunk weaves past and present into an escalating web of tension, secrets, and danger. The episode begins with a flashback two years ago, where a seemingly innocuous encounter between Jeong-won and In-ji at a suitcase store hints at the chemistry that will later complicate their lives. As Jeong-won’s fascination with In-ji blossoms, Seo-yeon subtly takes notice, peeking into the mysterious trunk In-ji purchases.
In the present, Seo-yeon declares she’s ready to take Jeong-won back, calling Mr. Han’s death punishment enough for past wrongs. But Jeong-won isn’t on board—his struggle with his pill addiction comes to the forefront as he resists the blue pills and grapples with his growing feelings for In-ji. Their bond deepens when he seeks solace in her bed, imagining a future together, though nightmares of harming her leave him shaken.
In-ji, meanwhile, is dealing with her own turmoil. She learns from In-yeong that Do-ha has vanished from Budapest, adding another layer to her already complicated emotions. The discovery of a man tending to her goldfish via CCTV raises chilling questions: is it Tae-song or Do-ha? Si-jeong connects the dots to Seo-yeon’s cryptic comments about their home, heightening In-ji’s suspicions.
Tae-song, ever the wild card, interrupts Jeong-won to share unsettling details about In-ji’s past. He reveals how he witnessed her breakdown during Do-ha’s scandal but admired her resilience despite being abandoned and silenced by NDAs. His unhinged affection for In-ji grows increasingly dangerous, especially as he hints at wanting to die with her if he can’t have her.
Seo-yeon’s control begins to unravel as Ji-o refuses her advances and Jeong-won addresses her toxic influence. In-ji confronts her directly, accusing her of manipulating Jeong-won with pills and spying on him through the chandelier camera. The revelation stuns Seo-yeon, though she quickly deflects, leading to a scuffle that leaves both women emotionally raw.
Jeong-won’s resolve strengthens as he confesses to Hyeon-cheol that he wants to be with In-ji, despite the restrictions of their contract. The two share a tender moment over burgers, and he joins her in kayaking—a passion tied to her traumatic past with Hye-yeong’s suicide. As they grow closer, Jeong-won begins to understand the depths of In-ji’s pain, adding layers to their budding relationship.
The stakes rise when Tae-song discovers the spycam and threatens to blackmail Seo-yeon. She brushes him off, but the ominous presence of a blade hints at deadly consequences. In a flashforward, Officer Kim investigates Tae-song’s stabbing and his connection to Jeong-won, whose troubled past with blue pills resurfaces, raising questions about his involvement in darker deeds.
The episode crescendos as In-ji returns home to find her engagement photo strangely reframed and blood trailing through the hallway. The door to her apartment stands ajar, and as she steps inside, the ominous silence sets the stage for a chilling cliffhanger.
DramaZen's Opinion
This episode just threw a whole new wrench into the chaos with Do-ha making his dramatic entrance—and honestly? His timing could not have been better. The way he stabbed Tae-song had us all gasping, but let’s be real, he’s probably not the one who ultimately kills Tae-song. Our money’s still on either In-ji or Seo-yeon, especially with Ji-o lurking at the crime scene and Jeong-won already cleared by the cops. This mystery is keeping us on our toes, and we’re here for it.
This Netflix K-drama knows exactly how to play with our emotions. Watching In-ji figure out the spycam before Seo-yeon could return? Nail-biting perfection. And the showdown between them? Pure satisfaction. In-ji dragging Seo-yeon verbally and physically had us all cheering. Go get her, girl!
As for Seo-yeon, just when we think she’s hit rock bottom, she digs even deeper. From literally bullying someone to death to possibly getting Jeong-won hooked on those infamous blue pills—she’s the definition of toxic. Even clueless Hyeon-cheol knows she’s a bad influence, and that says everything. Honestly, at this point, we’re just waiting for her whole house of manipulative cards to collapse. Episode 7 can’t come soon enough!
