Love Blossoms, Jealousy Brews, and Tensions Rise

Last week’s episode gave us the heartwarming moment we’ve all been waiting for—Kurosawa finally confessed his feelings to Aoi, saying the unforgettable words, “No matter how you look at it, I love you.” Their kiss marked a turning point in their relationship, taking them from boss and subordinate to a couple in love. But Episode 5 doesn’t let them enjoy smooth sailing for long—there’s a sudden twist on the horizon that promises to shake things up.

At work, Kurosawa tries to maintain his usual calm demeanor, but his growing affection for Aoi is impossible to hide. Taking a bold step forward in their new relationship, he invites her to his home for dinner. What starts as a happy, intimate evening soon escalates when Kurosawa leads Aoi to his bedroom. In a surprising moment, he strips off his shirt, but just when things seem to be heating up, something—or someone—interrupts, leaving us on the edge of our seats.

Elsewhere, Sakamoto Ryo is struggling with his own romantic turmoil. Convinced that his crush, senior colleague Ayaka, already has a boyfriend, his heartache is palpable. Yet he refuses to let go of his feelings and invites her on a playful date to a batting center. In a standout scene, Sakamoto charms both Ayaka and viewers with his impressive batting skills before sweetly teaching her how to swing, wrapping his arms around her in a moment that could melt even the coldest hearts. Is there hope for this “puppy boy” to win Ayaka’s love?

Meanwhile, misunderstandings abound as Oshima Kei, who believes Ozu Kyo has feelings for someone else, seeks solace in the sauna with Sakamoto. Both men bond over their frustrations and uncertainties, leaving us to wonder how these tangled relationships will resolve. However, Ozu finally admits that she likes Oshima. He is so shocked and doesn't know how to answer, so he runs off telling her he will think about it.

Episode 5 is a rollercoaster of romance, misunderstandings, and emotional highs and lows. As Kurosawa and Aoi navigate their fledgling relationship and others wrestle with unspoken feelings, the drama continues to build in ways that leave us craving more. Will Kurosawa and Aoi’s love survive the sudden twist? And will Sakamoto find his own romantic breakthrough? Stay tuned for what promises to be an explosive next episode!

Opinion of Watashitachi ga Koisuru Riyu (2024)

Episode 5 had me screaming at my screen—in the best way possible! The drama, the romance, the unexpected twists—it’s everything I love about this series and more.

Let’s start with Kurosawa and Aoi, because WOW. Their relationship has come so far, and I’m living for the way Kurosawa is slowly opening up. His confession last week was so heartfelt, and now we see him trying to balance his professional image with his overwhelming feelings for Aoi. The dinner at his place was such a sweet, intimate step forward, and when they went to the bedroom? My heart was racing! But of course, this show loves to tease us, and that cliffhanger left me desperate to know what happens next. What interrupted them?! And how will it affect their fragile new relationship?

On the lighter side, Sakamoto Ryo continues to be the most lovable “puppy boy” ever. His date with Ayaka at the batting center was pure gold. The way he showed off his batting skills (and looked amazing doing it) was impressive, but the real magic was when he taught Ayaka how to swing. That hug-from-behind moment was straight out of a romantic fantasy, and I could feel my heart melting right along with hers. But does she really like him, or is Sakamoto setting himself up for heartbreak? The tension is killing me!

And then there’s Ozu Kyo and Oshima Kei, whose misunderstanding continues to provide the perfect dose of comedic relief. Oshima heading to the sauna to clear his head alongside a lovesick Sakamoto was such a fun twist. The two of them bonding over their frustrations gave the episode a light, relatable energy that balanced out the heavier romantic drama.

This episode had it all: tender moments, laugh-out-loud misunderstandings, and that tantalizing twist with Kurosawa and Aoi. It’s the kind of drama that keeps you glued to the screen, rooting for every character, and obsessively theorizing about what happens next. Episode 6 can’t come soon enough—I’m fully invested, and I need answers! 😍
