After coming to terms with his feelings for Morita Aoi, Kurosawa Tomoya finds himself in an emotional whirlwind. Watching his junior, Itami Mizuki, grow closer to Aoi has sparked a jealousy he can no longer ignore. The tension reaches a peak when Aoi and Itami leave on a business trip together. Kurosawa’s complicated emotions are written all over his face as he sees them off, unable to mask the storm brewing inside.

Meanwhile, Rei Sakamoto is falling deeper under the spell of his senior, Ayaka Ichikawa, while working closely together on their project. His admiration for her shifts into something more tender and undeniably romantic. But does Ayaka feel the same?

In a lighter subplot, Kyo Ozu’s relentless pursuit of the charming Hotaru Oshima pays off as the two finally go on their first date. Watching Kyo’s enthusiasm and Hotaru’s subtle reactions adds a playful contrast to the episode’s heavier themes. Their budding connection is sure to delight fans of the series.

DramaZen's Opinion

Opinion of Watashitachi ga Koisuru Riyu (2024)

Episode 3 was an emotional rollercoaster, and I am here for every second of it! The drama is hitting all the right notes with its blend of romantic tension, jealousy, and unexpected twists.

First off, Kurosawa Tomoya—can we just take a moment to appreciate how much this man is struggling with his feelings? His jealousy over Itami Mizuki getting close to Morita Aoi was so painfully obvious, and honestly, it made my heart ache for him. Watching him watch Aoi and Itami leave for their business trip, knowing he couldn’t do anything about it, was brutal. You can see how deeply he cares, but his fear of complicating their professional relationship is holding him back. It’s that slow-burn heartbreak that makes this show so addictive.

Aoi, as always, is charmingly oblivious to Kurosawa’s inner turmoil. But what really got me was Kurosawa’s reaction to the urgent call from Itami. The way he immediately jumped into action shows just how much Aoi means to him, even if he hasn’t admitted it to her—or himself—yet. That cliffhanger has me dying to know what happens next. What’s the emergency? And how will this change things between them?

Meanwhile, the other storylines were just as engaging. Rei Sakamoto is such a sweetheart, and his growing feelings for Ayaka Ichikawa are so pure. The tie-straightening moment was subtle but powerful—it’s those little gestures that mean everything when you’re crushing on someone. I’m rooting for him, but I also feel like Ayaka might be harder to read than we think. Is she just being kind, or is there something more there?

And then there’s Kyo Ozu, who FINALLY went on a date with Hotaru Oshima! Their dynamic is so fun and lighthearted, which is a nice counterbalance to the heavier emotions of the main storyline. I’m loving how Kyo throws herself into her feelings with zero hesitation—it’s refreshing and relatable.

This episode gave us everything: deep emotional conflicts, sweet moments, and a tantalizing cliffhanger. The show keeps building the tension perfectly, leaving me even more invested in Kurosawa and Aoi’s journey. Will Kurosawa finally take a step forward? And what’s the deal with Itami’s urgent call? Episode 3 has solidified this drama as my current obsession. Bring on Episode 4—I need answers! 😍
