Episode 7 of Would You Marry Me really dives into the chaos and romance of Me-ri’s life. The episode opens with a heart-to-heart between Me-ri and Woo-joo. She starts listing all the reasons they probably shouldn’t be together, and for the first time, Woo-joo worries that his feelings for her might be overwhelming her. Things get a little tense when the conversation shifts to financial responsibility, and Woo-joo, a little offended, starts walking away, but of course, Me-ri follows.

Meanwhile, the ultimate headache, Woo-ju, continues his over-the-top antics at the hospital. He’s sulking about Me-ri leaving for work, and Woo-joo ends up having to babysit him, much to everyone else’s annoyance. Woo-ju even tries to provoke Woo-joo by bragging about seeing Me-ri, but Woo-joo shuts him down without breaking a sweat.

At Myunsoondang, the intrigue deepens. Pil-nyeon instructs her secretary to look into the financial documents Mr. Ko had hidden, while Han-gu brings in a fake American employee to cover up his fraud. The supposed American market project is completely fake, with Han-gu quietly siphoning money. Classic villain move!

Back in Me-ri’s world, she texts Woo-joo to thank him for all his help, promising not to bother him again. But the drama continues as Woo-ju’s family returns from abroad and causes more chaos at the hospital. Woo-ju throws a dramatic tantrum, claiming he can’t live without Me-ri and revealing he’s finally realized he loves her, obviously, a little too late. His mom and sister even call Me-ri, blaming her and demanding she care for him, but Me-ri stays calm and cuts ties once and for all.

The romantic tension heats up later when Woo-joo picks Me-ri up from work in his new car. He shares his old diaries with her, revealing his mysterious first crush, Miso, who turns out to be someone he owes gratitude to, not a past love. Their teasing quickly escalates into a near-kiss, and as a heavy rainstorm hits, Woo-joo takes the chance to stay over at Me-ri’s house, sending her a soothing song to calm her nerves through the night.

On the side, Jin-gyeong and Sang-hyun have their own little storyline, full of awkward honesty, drunken confessions, and sweet moments that give a nice balance to all the chaos. By morning, Woo-joo and Me-ri share breakfast together, enjoying a quiet moment before their world starts spinning again with fans, stars, and jealous antics.

The episode ends on a high note: Woo-joo finally confesses his feelings for Me-ri, assuring her that his help isn’t out of guilt, it’s because he genuinely loves her and seals it all with a passionate, heartfelt kiss. It’s the kind of scene that had fans swooning and cheering at the same time.

Episode 8 of Would You Marry Me really turns up both the romance and the tension! It kicks off with Me-ri’s mom wondering just how long her daughter will be out with Woo-joo, but Me-ri had actually returned home earlier and mentioned that Woo-joo is in town.

Meanwhile, Me-ri and Woo-joo are enjoying a magical walk under a starry night. Woo-joo opens up about his life after the accident, revealing that he once came by Me-ri’s house but left before seeing her. Me-ri slowly pieces everything together and reassures him that neither she nor her mom blames his family for her dad’s death. They share sweet, heartfelt moments, he promises to be her lighthouse and even tries carrying her on his back, which, of course, ends in a hilarious tumble. But the laughter, stargazing, and occasional kisses make it totally romantic.

Back in Seoul, Jin-gyeong is still processing her last heated conversation with Woo-joo, where he made it clear he likes Me-ri and warned her to stay out of his business. Sang-hyun tries to comfort her with a night run, and though it ends with tears, it’s a tender little subplot that adds depth to their story.

In the village, Young-sook welcomes Woo-joo warmly and prepares a room for him. Woo-joo texts Me-ri for help with a bug, and the two end up spending most of the night together. The next morning, Young-sook serves a hearty breakfast and doesn’t let Me-ri and Woo-joo shy away from their relationship, giving her blessing for Woo-joo to always take care of Me-ri. They also visit Me-ri’s dad’s grave, strengthening their emotional bond. Before leaving for Seoul, they take a walk on the beach, and Me-ri admits she’s ready to give up the house to protect Woo-joo from trouble, but he insists he’ll be by her side no matter what.

Meanwhile, Woo-ju’s antics continue as he spies on Me-ri and Woo-joo at a home decor store and later sneaks into Myunsoondang hoping to get Woo-joo fired. His little schemes quickly crumble when he learns Woo-joo is the company’s heir. In true dramatic fashion, Woo-ju heads to karaoke to drown his sorrows.

The episode also teases the scheming adults: Mi-yeon confronts her mom about Pil-nyeon favoring Woo-joo’s family, while Han-gu relaxes in America with his mistress, plotting future moves against Pil-nyeon.

Back in Korea, Woo-joo and Me-ri continue secretly dating, keeping things playful and sweet. Pil-nyeon invites the marketing team over for lunch, praising honesty in both life and work, which makes Me-ri and Woo-joo a little tense. On the way out, they run into Jin-gyeong, sparking a mix of awkwardness and jealousy from the office gossip. Meanwhile, Woo-ju discovers that Me-ri is the beneficiary of his insurance and sees an opportunity to interfere yet again.

The episode ends with a classic cliffhanger: Woo-ju shows up at Me-ri’s doorstep with proof that she and Woo-joo aren’t officially divorced, ready to stir the pot and make life complicated for the couple.

DramaZen's Opinion

Opinion of Would You Marry Me (2025)

Episodes 7 and 8 were such a rollercoaster! Woo-joo and Me-ri’s growing closeness is just adorable, and watching them navigate their fake marriage while actually caring for each other is so heartwarming. The starry night walk, playful tumbles, and secret dates had me totally swooning.

Of course, the tension is still alive with Woo-ju being his usual dramatic self, trying to mess things up at every turn. I love that Woo-joo is finally showing how much he cares for Me-ri, stepping up not just as her partner in the “marriage,” but genuinely supporting her.

These episodes balanced the romance, humor, and office/family drama perfectly. I’m hooked and can’t wait to see how Woo-ju’s antics clash with Woo-joo’s charm next!
