Would You Marry Me- Episodes 9-10
Episode 9 drops us right into the chaos with a flashback that finally reveals how Woo-ju figured out Me-ri never filed their divorce. And in true Woo-ju fashion, he immediately assumed this meant she still loved him. After overhearing talk about the house lottery and spotting Me-ri and Woo-joo’s photos online, he stormed over to her place, convinced he had caught her red-handed.

In the present, Me-ri tries her best to push him out the door, but Woo-ju bulldozes his way inside. He confronts her, claims she lied to him, and even tries to win her back on the spot. When Me-ri doesn’t budge, he switches tactics fast and threatens to drag Woo-joo and Myunsoondang down with him unless she breaks up with Woo-joo. Backed into a corner, Me-ri agrees and painfully pushes Woo-joo away with a fake excuse, while Woo-joo, ever patient, simply worries for her.
Meanwhile, Woo-joo keeps busy looking into J Consulting after noticing something suspicious in Pil-nyeon’s documents. When his friend John sends back information revealing the company is tied to Jessica and a fake address, Woo-joo realizes something much bigger is brewing behind the scenes.
As for Me-ri, she spends her days dodging Woo-joo’s calls and swallowing heartbreak. Woo-joo, believing she might have been hurt by his grandmother, keeps trying to reach her with gentle, thoughtful care. When he finally plans a sweet picnic date under a work pretense, Me-ri uses the moment to officially break things off. Woo-joo’s response is as soft as ever, he apologizes if he pushed her too fast, unaware she’s lying to protect him.

Elsewhere, Myunsoondang buzzes with its own internal trouble as Jin-gyeong works through her complicated feelings, Sang-hyun battles work stress, and the higher-ups try to patch over growing pressure.
Eventually, Woo-joo becomes worried when the Myunsoondang security team reports Woo-ju’s visit. By the time he gets to Me-ri’s place, Woo-ju is already there, cornering her into another argument. When Woo-ju gets aggressive, Woo-joo steps in just in time. He shuts Woo-ju down with a recording of his threats, finally ending his blackmailing streak. Shaken, Me-ri finally collapses into Woo-joo’s arms, and he begs her not to push him away again. His vow to protect her feels like the emotional payoff we’ve been waiting for.
With the anniversary party approaching, Woo-joo invites Me-ri, and she agrees. Their night almost goes smoothly, Pil-nyeon even greets Me-ri warmly, but trouble is never far behind in this drama. Sang-hyun overhears just enough to realize Me-ri hasn’t been honest, and he immediately contacts Sung-woo about reclaiming the house unit. Woo-joo rushes to warn Me-ri to leave the party, but on her way out, she runs straight into Pil-nyeon.

The episode ends with Me-ri quietly slipping away from the event as Woo-joo is confronted by Sang-hyun, who demands to know the truth about his relationship with Me-ri.
Episode 10 of Would You Marry Me opens right where the chaos left off, everyone still gathered at Myunsoondang’s anniversary party. Mi-yeon is busy trying to play matchmaker, but Jin-gyeong has her attention fixed on Woo-joo, especially after she sees him rush outside to walk Me-ri out.
When she catches Woo-joo getting flustered by Sang-hyun’s questions, Jin-gyeong wastes no time pulling Sang-hyun aside. She admits that she overheard him listening in on Me-ri and Pil-nyeon’s conversation and comes clean: Me-ri and Woo-joo aren’t actually married. But she also reveals something else she overheard at Beaute Palace, Sung-woo knows exactly what Sang-hyun has been hiding. Jin-gyeong offers a deal to keep both secrets, as long as Sang-hyun leaves Me-ri and Woo-joo alone.

Meanwhile, Sung-woo is frustrated when Sang-hyun reports back with no solution for the mayor. His mood shifts again when he notices a flower bouquet sent “on behalf of Kaltz Hotel.” Pil-nyeon quickly has this checked into.
Outside, Woo-joo comforts Me-ri, assuring her that Jin-gyeong handled everything. They sneak in a quiet moment together until So-ri shows up, teasing her sister but ultimately giving her approval of Woo-joo.
Things then take a dark turn. Han-gu goes to Pil-nyeon’s home intending to stop her after overhearing her talk about David. He confesses to creating J Consulting as a fake front and switching her medication. Pil-nyeon collapses soon after, and although she’s rushed to the hospital, she ends up in a coma.

With Pil-nyeon unable to defend herself, Han-gu immediately sets his next plan in motion. He spreads false rumors painting her as corrupt while pretending to be the one trying to save the company. Woo-joo initially falls for it, until Pil-nyeon’s secretary secretly warns him.
Devastated at the hospital, Woo-joo gets a surprise visit from Me-ri. She’s exactly what he needs, supportive, steady, and reminding him he has to fight for both his grandmother’s legacy and the employees depending on him. Jin-gyeong sees the two together and quietly slips away, later drowning her heartbreak at a bar where she happens to run into Sang-hyun. Their conversation reveals just how complicated both of their loyalties have become.
Back at Myunsoondang, tension rises as rumors of an investor takeover spread. Jessica and Henry return to Korea, fully prepared to carry out the scheme Han-gu arranged. He even shows her signed divorce papers to keep her confident, though Mi-yeon’s signature is still missing.

Before the big negotiation, Woo-joo and Me-ri piece together that Jessica, who he believed was “Sylvia”, is actually So-ri’s old boss from America, and the man beside her in the photo is none other than Han-gu. The truth finally clicks: Han-gu has been behind everything.
During the negotiation meeting, Woo-joo purposely adds an employment protection clause to provoke Han-gu, and the reaction is exactly what he expected. Still, hard evidence is tricky to find. Woo-joo, Me-ri, and Eung-soo team up and decide on one risky move: pretending Pil-nyeon has woken up.
It works. Han-gu sends Jessica to the hospital to finish what he started, but she gets caught trying to harm Pil-nyeon. The scandal clears Pil-nyeon’s name, though Jessica refuses to expose Han-gu. He promises to take care of Henry and get her a good lawyer if she stays quiet.

But Woo-joo plays her a recording of Han-gu betraying her. Realizing the truth, Jessica agrees to cooperate, only asking that Henry be protected.
Unfortunately, Han-gu gets to her place first and finds his old phone and a hidden USB. Inside are text messages and recorded calls revealing everything, including the plot against Woo-joo’s parents years ago.
Just as he thinks he’s in the clear, Han-gu turns around and finds Woo-joo standing there, demanding the truth about what happened to his family.
DramaZen's Opinion

Episode 10 of Would You Marry Me was a rollercoaster from start to finish. The drama finally pushed past the slow-burn tension and delivered some of its most intense moments yet. Me-ri and Woo-joo’s relationship really shined this episode, especially in the way they quietly support each other even while everything around them is falling apart. Their scenes at the hospital were some of the sweetest we’ve gotten so far.
On the other hand, Han-gu reached a whole new level of villainy. His scenes were genuinely chilling, and the twist about Woo-joo’s parents added a whole new layer to the story. Jessica’s downfall was heartbreaking yet strangely satisfying, especially once she realized she was just another pawn in Han-gu’s plans.
Jin-gyeong and Sang-hyun also surprised me. Their bar scene was such a calm moment in the middle of all the chaos, and watching Sang-hyun soften, even just a little, felt like a reward.
Overall, this episode did an amazing job pushing the plot forward while still giving us emotional beats between the characters. The ending left me tense and completely hooked, and now I can’t wait to see what Episode 11 does with that final confrontation.
