Amidst a Snowstorm of Love- Episode 13-15 Recap
Yin Guo’s heart ached seeing Lin Yiyang soaked from the rain, yet she couldn’t help but feel overjoyed that he still came despite the weather. Lin Yiyang knelt on the ground, his eyes full of warmth as he opened his arms wide, inviting her into a hug. Yin Guo smiled and wrapped her arms around him, but her worry slipped out, "If you keep running here so often, will you still be able to graduate?"
Lin Yiyang chuckled, "And if I don’t graduate, will you still want me?"
Looking into his eyes, Yin Guo softly replied, "I’d want you even if you never graduated."
Lin Yiyang’s heart swelled with pride as he told her he’d be waiting for her in the auditorium. Later, as he sat with Xie Yaoyao and the others, Lin Yiyang couldn’t believe he was in the audience, supporting someone who meant so much to him. It had been ages since he last stepped foot in the stadium, and now, he was there for her.
Meng Xiaodong suggested a get-together, so Lin Yiyang handed his card to Wu Wei, telling Jiang Yang and Meng Xiaodong that while he might not be doing great, he could still afford to treat everyone. As he spotted Yin Guo, he casually told the group not to start too early since he wanted to spend time with her, then made his way over.
Lin Yiyang booked a room at the hotel where Yin Guo was staying, but he couldn’t wait until they got inside. In the hallway outside her door, he pressed her against the wall, kissing her with a burning intensity. In between breaths, he teased her about letting the last ball drop into the bottom pocket, suggesting it would’ve been more impressive in the middle one. Yin Guo hesitated before replying that she was just better at hitting thin shots. Without missing a beat, Lin Yiyang scooped her up and carried her to the sofa inside the room.
Yin Guo’s eyes clouded with sadness as she thought about her departure next Thursday. It was Saturday already, and time was slipping away too quickly. Lin Yiyang, feeling the weight of those few remaining days, gently asked her to hold him for just a minute longer. Unable to resist, Yin Guo threw herself into his embrace.
As they held each other, Yin Guo’s phone rang. It was Li Qingyan, ready to confess something important. Lin Yiyang took the phone from her, casually asking for the room number and time for the evening’s party before hanging up. Then, without a word, he pulled her close, their lips meeting in another passionate kiss.
At eight o'clock sharp, Lin Yiyang made his way to room 677. Li Qingyan opened the door, and with a casual invitation from Lin Yiyang to play a couple of games later that night, Li Qingyan eagerly agreed. After a few rounds of drinks, the room emptied out, leaving only Lin Yiyang, Jiang Yang, and Meng Xiaodong. Breaking the silence, Meng Xiaodong revealed that although he wasn’t aware of the history between Yin Guo and Li Qingyan, Yin Guo's family clearly favored Li Qingyan. To make matters worse, a member of Yin Guo’s family had been a referee in Lin Yiyang’s last match before he retired.
Meng Xiaodong leaned in, searching Lin Yiyang’s eyes, "Are you really not planning to fight again?"
Lin Yiyang took a deep sip of his drink, his gaze drifting to the side, "I stopped fighting a long time ago."
But Meng Xiaodong wasn’t ready to let it go. "You still have a chance," he pressed.
After a tense pause, Lin Yiyang finally spoke, "Is there an empty table?"
Meng Xiaodong nodded, "I’ve got half the billiard room rented out here."
Jiang Yang quickly added, "I'll clear a station for you."
Lin Yiyang grabbed his jacket and headed out, signaling for Li Qingyan to follow. Together, they entered the billiard room. Lin Yiyang won the break and, with a steely calm, told Li Qingyan, "You have no chance."
With flawless precision, Lin Yiyang pocketed every ball, leaving Li Qingyan without a single shot. As he set down his cue, Lin Yiyang turned to Li Qingyan, his voice cold and final, "Don’t waste your energy. You’re a player, not a machine. And whatever relationship you had with her before, or think you still have now, it ends here. From this moment on, Yin Guo is only mine."
As Lin Yiyang stepped out of the hotel, the cold wind hit him, bringing a rush of dizziness and a flood of memories. The image of his heated argument with the referee during his last game replayed in his mind, and before he could stop them, tears began to stream down his face. The weight of that moment, the sadness he had buried deep within, now felt unbearable.
His phone buzzed, snapping him back to the present. It was Wu Wei. Lin Yiyang asked him about a nearby cake shop that might still be open, he needed to get a cake, something to celebrate Yin Guo’s success, to find a bit of joy in the midst of his turmoil.
Meanwhile, Yin Guo stirred awake. It was 11:02. She immediately sent a message to Lin Yiyang, but there was no response. Worried, she tried Meng Xiaodong, only to be met with the same silence. The unease in her chest grew, as the night seemed to stretch on endlessly.
Yin Guo sent a quick message to Wu Wei, who told her to come to Room 677. When she entered, she found Lin Yiyang asleep on the sofa, looking peaceful yet vulnerable. Rushing over, she gently covered him with a blanket.
Half-asleep, Lin Yiyang murmured, “Make sure Yin Guo gets the cake... It won’t taste good if it sits too long. Don’t let her know I’m drunk.”
With a pang of affection, Yin Guo touched his face, her voice soft as she whispered, “Got it, I'll eat it right away.”
Lin Yiyang stirred, opening his eyes just enough to pull her into his arms. Burying his face in her shoulder, he asked in a weak, almost pleading voice, “Do I have a place in your heart now?”
Wu Wei revealed to Yin Guo that Lin Yiyang had dashed out of the hotel in the middle of the night to buy her a cake, only to find the shop closed. Undeterred, he’d curled up in a small corner by the door, leaning against the wall like a lost soul, and fallen asleep. When he finally woke up, his first words were a groggy plea to Wu Wei to find a cake for Yin Guo.
Yin Guo looked at Lin Yiyang, a mix of fondness and amusement swelling in her chest. Wu Wei added with a grin that none of the lavish things on the table could compare to that small glass of sweet wine Lin Yiyang had shared with her before. He’d even played a match just to treat her to dinner.
Curious, Yin Guo turned to Jiang Yang and asked why Lin Yiyang had stopped playing. Jiang Yang’s expression grew somber as he explained how Lin Yiyang had hit rock bottom, accused of match-fixing, and clashed with a referee, which led to a six-month suspension. Furious and disillusioned, Lin Yiyang had quit the game entirely and never allowed himself to look back.
Yin Guo sat in silence for a moment, processing everything. Finally, she took a sip of water and told Jiang Yang and the others, "I have a game tomorrow, so please take care of Lin Yiyang for me. I’ll come to pick him up when I’m done."
The next day, with her eyes sparkling with determination, Yin Guo breezed through the competition, making her way to the finals against Liu Xiran. Meanwhile, Lin Yiyang, recovering from a night of heavy drinking, woke up disoriented but sentimental, reminiscing about past sorrows and fleeting memories.
Yin Guo, ever playful, teased Lin Yiyang about their shared moments. As he leaned in, his intense gaze met hers, "What did we do?" he asked, his voice low and charged. Yin Guo, caught off guard, stammered a quick denial. Laughing softly, Lin Yiyang wrapped his arms around her from behind, whispering, "Tell me, I want to know."
By noon on Sunday, Yin Guo had come to terms with her loss to Liu Xiran but was reassured by Lin Yiyang’s gentle words, "You'll win next time." After a refreshing shower, Lin Yiyang surprised her with plans for a getaway. They flew to Helan Island, where Lin Yiyang had arranged a scenic drive along mountain roads. As they ascended, the snowy peaks contrasted with the warm sunlight, providing a stunning backdrop to their journey.
At the top of the mountain, Lin Yiyang produced an assortment of snacks and drinks, his eyes glinting with excitement. "I’ve got a special place in mind," he said. As they descended, the landscape transformed from a wintry wonderland to a summer paradise, perfectly mirroring the warmth he brought to Yin Guo’s heart.
After slipping into summer clothes at the gas station, they hit the road once more. When they arrived at the beach, Lin Yiyang revealed a box of snow he had carefully transported from the snowy mountain. His grand plan had been to drive a pickup truck filled with snow, letting Yin Guo build a snowman on the sand. But with snow in short supply and the risk of ruining the surprise, he improvised.
The sight of the snow and Lin Yiyang’s thoughtful gesture made Yin Guo’s eyes glisten with emotion. With the snow turned into playful snowball fights, Lin Yiyang sculpted two whimsical sand snowmen. As they snuggled on the mat, he promised Yin Guo a stroll along the beach and a night under the stars. The magic of the moment, from the snowy surprise to the starlit evening, was a perfect blend of warmth and wonder.
As they wandered past a charming carousel, they couldn’t resist taking a spin, laughter echoing as they twirled in delight. Their next adventure led them to a quaint bridge where they attached a couple’s lock, sealing their bond with a symbolic gesture. After indulging in a spree of shopping and savoring delicious bites, they made their way back to the mountaintop, their hearts full and their spirits high.
After a refreshing nap, Yin Guo and Lin Yiyang set out under the velvet night sky for an enchanting stargazing session. As they lay side by side, Lin Yiyang softly dedicated the song from the bar where they first met to her, each note a testament to their journey together. With heartfelt sincerity, he thanked her for rekindling his passion for snooker and for placing her trust in a future he hadn’t yet shaped. His eyes, filled with gratitude, conveyed how deeply she had transformed his life. Promising to return to China for her, Lin Yiyang’s words resonated with emotion, leaving Yin Guo misty-eyed as she listened to his vows of devotion.
Returning to the city, Lin Yiyang escorts Yin Guo back to her hotel and helps her pack her bags, the weight of impending separation hanging heavily in the air. Yin Guo’s heart aches as she faces the prospect of leaving behind the cherished memories they've created together and heading back to China. In a bid to soothe her, Lin Yiyang prepares a steaming cup of coffee, hoping its warmth will offer some comfort. Yin Guo, feeling a pang of longing, expresses her desire to relive their most poignant moments. She wishes to return to the laundry room where Yiyang first bared his heart, craving a few more precious minutes in the place where their story began.
As Lin Yiyang drives Yin Guo to the airport, the gravity of their impending separation hangs heavily between them. Their final embrace is heart-wrenching, and as Yin Guo breaks down in tears, Lin Yiyang feels a profound ache, knowing this is their last moment together for now. He watches her go through security, her figure shrinking with each step until she's out of sight.
On his somber drive back to the hotel, Lin Yiyang is consumed by thoughts of Yin Guo. Every corner of the city seems to whisper memories of their time together, her presence lingering like an echo. Lost in his reflections, he collides with Jiang Yang (Chen Jingke), who is also heading out. They share a nostalgic reunion, catching up on old times. Jiang Yang hands over Mr. He’s contact information, revealing that Lin Yiyang’s former coach is gravely ill. He urges Lin Yiyang to reach out, despite Lin Yiyang’s usual tough exterior. Beneath his hardened facade, Lin Yiyang’s concern for those close to him is undeniable, and the news strikes a deep chord.
DramaZen's Opinion
Our two leads are diving headfirst into the magic of first-love romance, their connection growing deeper with every shared moment. Witnessing their sweet support for each other and their playful antics on the beach—snowball fights under the sun—is pure joy. Their chemistry is undeniably enchanting.
Meanwhile, the side characters shine brilliantly, providing the perfect support as the leads navigate their intertwined lives. The cast is absolutely stellar, making every scene come alive with excitement and heart. I love how they quietly support one another, but also make sure to let each other know that they are caring of each other. The way they spilled the beans on Lin Yiyang and all his secret sacrafices for Yin Guo was kind of them. They didn't want their friend's efforts to go to waste. Cute!!!
I also can't overlook Lin Yiyang's irresistible possessiveness over Yin Guo. The way he subtly—though unmistakably—challenged her childhood sweetheart to a game and then dominated the table was pure brilliance. With a cool, effortless swagger, he turned back and laid down the law: Yin Guo belongs to him and him alone. Now that's the kind of bold, commanding presence that defines a true male lead!
Let’s not overlook that gut-wrenching farewell in the final scene. The raw emotion was palpable—her aching desire to stay and his heart-rending struggle to let her go. It was a moment charged with such intense longing and reluctant separation that it left me breathless.
