Hidden Truths and a Killer Unmasked

In Episode 9 of Face Me, chaos erupts as Min-hyung discovers her brother Jin-seok in a pool of blood, with Jeong-woo sitting nearby, looking shocked. Jin-seok is rushed to surgery, and Jeong-woo is taken into custody as the prime suspect. However, a recording of Jin-seok’s call clears Jeong-woo, revealing that someone else had knocked on Jin-seok’s door before Jeong-woo arrived.

The mystery deepens when DNA evidence links the attacker to Choi, Min-hyung’s team leader. Choi’s attempt to suffocate Jin-seok in the hospital exposes his involvement, leading to his arrest. Under interrogation, Choi admits to hiding evidence about Jeong-woo’s accident at his mother’s request, revealing deeper conspiracies surrounding the events of that fateful night.

As Jin-seok regains consciousness, he shares a crucial detail: Jeong-woo had been chasing someone the night of his fiancée’s murder, not fleeing. This revelation shifts the narrative, leaving Jeong-woo struggling to recall the face of the attacker.

Episode 10 takes a psychological turn as Min-hyung takes Jeong-woo and Jin-seok for hypnosis to recover their blocked memories. Jeong-woo recalls finding his fiancée in a pool of blood and chasing an attacker but struggles to identify them. Clues begin to surface when Jeong-woo receives his fiancée’s laptop from an old friend, containing incriminating photos of Woo-jin—his colleague and confidant.

The puzzle pieces fall into place when Hyo-ju recognizes Woo-jin as her attacker during her skin graft surgery. This shocking realization sets off a tense pursuit as Min-hyung learns Woo-jin’s car was spotted near Hyo-ju’s apartment the night of her attack. Meanwhile, Jeong-woo unlocks damning evidence on the laptop, confirming Woo-jin’s connection to both Hyo-ju’s case and his fiancée’s murder.

In a heart-pounding finale, Hyo-ju, armed with her sketch of the attacker, attempts to escape Woo-jin’s pursuit but finds herself cornered in a parking lot. Jeong-woo arrives, only to be hit with a memory of seeing Woo-jin flee his fiancée’s apartment the night of her death. The realization freezes him.

Inside the closet, Hyo-ju hears Woo-jin's footstepsnearing and his presence triggers memories of the attack. The episode ends with tensions reaching the highest peak.

DramaZen's Opinion

Opinion of Face Me (2024)

Episodes 9 and 10 of Face Me were absolutely mind-blowing! The tension and suspense were through the roof as secrets unraveled and the true darkness of Woo-jin’s character started coming to light. The reveal that Woo-jin might be connected to both Hyo-ju’s attack and Jeong-woo’s fiancée’s murder left me completely stunned.

Jin-seok’s near-death experience and his revelation that Jeong-woo was chasing someone, not fleeing, completely flipped the narrative. I love how the show keeps challenging what we think we know. The hypnosis scenes were especially gripping, giving us just enough information to keep us hooked while still leaving us desperate for answers.

Hyo-ju recognizing Woo-jin during her surgery was such a chilling moment—it gave me goosebumps. And the way the episodes ended, with Woo-jin pursuing Hyo-ju and Jeong-woo finally recalling seeing him the night of the murder, was the perfect mix of suspense and heartbreak.

I’m obsessed with how Face Me delivers such intricate storytelling, layered characters, and constant twists. These episodes were some of the best yet, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
