Only For Love- Episode 22-24 Recap
Yi Yang didn't hold back, making it clear that he admired Zheng Shuyi not only for her writing but also for who she was. He suggested that through the interview, she could gain a deeper understanding of her own brilliance and all she had to offer. Zheng Shuyi, however, was straightforward, stating that they weren’t a good match and hinting that her heart was already set on someone else. Yi Yang, undeterred, argued that most people make impulsive choices in love, which might not always be the best ones. He proposed that by doing the exclusive interview, Zheng Shuyi could weigh her options more carefully, comparing herself and her current relationship to see if a better choice existed.
Zheng Shuyi confidently asserted that her boyfriend was exceptional, and she wasn’t afraid of any comparison with Yi Yang. But for her, love wasn’t about comparisons; if she liked someone, that was enough. Recognizing the significance of Yi Yang's interview, Zheng Shuyi acknowledged its value and hinted that she might just consider his offer for an exclusive interview, leaving the door slightly ajar for what could come next.
Tang Yi discovered that Zheng Shuyi had hesitated to accept Yi Yang's manuscript and was curious about the reason. When she found out that Yi Yang was using the manuscript as a way to pursue her, Zheng Shuyi firmly stated that she wouldn't let love interfere with her career, but she was equally adamant that she wouldn't sacrifice love for her work. To her, both were of equal importance. Tang Yi respected her stance and advised her to carefully consider the interview. When Zheng Shuyi mentioned her plans to attend the chip conference in Fucheng over the weekend and that she'd be leaving on Friday, Tang Yi quickly connected the dots, realizing that Shi Yan was also attending the conference with her. Sensing the possibility of a relationship between them, Tang Yi hinted at it, and this time, Zheng Shuyi didn’t deny it.
Tang Yi, inspired by Zheng Shuyi's courage in navigating her relationship, reached out to Guan Xiangcheng, wondering if keeping secrets in a relationship was causing any tension. Guan Xiangcheng, reflecting on his own experiences, reassured Tang Yi that while secrecy can pose challenges, what's truly important is the strength and understanding within the relationship itself.
Zheng Shuyi boldly informed Yi Yang from Shiyan Dark Horse Technology that she was open to his request for a manuscript and even suggested featuring the interview in an electronic magazine. However, when Yi Yang confessed his feelings for her, Zheng Shuyi firmly turned him down, proudly praising her boyfriend's exceptional talent. When Shi Yan learned about Zheng Shuyi's dilemma, he wholeheartedly supported her decision, confident that the interview with Yi Yang would only deepen her affection for him. Shi Yan expressed his desire for Zheng Shuyi to shine even brighter, and for his own success to grow alongside hers, creating a bond so strong that no one else could come between them.
Qin Shiyue excitedly shared with Zheng Shuyi that after their exhibition outing, she and Yu You caught a movie together. She admitted with a hint of shyness that she was starting to like Yu You and even tried to visit his place, but he politely declined. When Zheng Shuyi mentioned that Yu You might attend the Fucheng Chip Conference that weekend, Qin Shiyue quickly asked Guan Ji to take her along. In doing so, Guan Ji had to turn down Bi Ruoshan's request to accompany him, leaving her a bit disappointed.
Meanwhile, Zheng Shuyi visited Dark Horse Technology to interview Yi Yang. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, deepening the connection between them as they delved into the interview's content.
Shi Yan arranged for Master Fan to pick up Zheng Shuyi for a meeting in Fucheng. As Zheng Shuyi packed her bags and prepared to leave, she ran into Yue Xingzhou downstairs. With a smug tone, Yue Xingzhou questioned if she was involved with a married man, advising her to turn back before it was too late. Zheng Shuyi's anger flared—she shot back, revealing that her boyfriend was already there to pick her up. When Yue Xingzhou recognized the car as belonging to the prestigious Shi family, he immediately suspected Zheng Shuyi was doing this to spite him. With a sharp wit, Zheng Shuyi dismissed his delusions, mocking him for thinking he was that important.
Shi Yan and Yi Yang crossed paths at the wine shop, where the atmosphere quickly heated up as someone mentioned Yi Yang's role in poaching Bruce. Yi Yang wasted no time in correcting the assumption, making it clear that the situation wasn’t as simple as it seemed. Shi Yan chimed in, emphasizing that Dark Horse and Le'an were engaged in healthy competition, and Bruce's departure was a result of his own ambitions—something he respected. Yi Yang agreed, adding that there was no bad blood between them and even hinted at the possibility of future collaboration between Dark Horse and Le'an.
As Zheng Shuyi arrived at the Fucheng Hotel and couldn't find Shi Yan, she started sending him playful messages, complaining that she hadn't eaten yet. Seeing her messages, Shi Yan quickly wrapped up his wine party, eager to return to the hotel and be with her. But on the way, he discovered that Zheng Shuyi had gone to the night market alone for a late-night snack. Rushing to the scene, he arrived just in time to find her being harassed by some thugs. Without hesitation, Shi Yan swiftly dealt with the troublemakers and whisked Zheng Shuyi away to safety.
Shi Yan was fuming that Zheng Shuyi had ventured out alone, while Zheng Shuyi was equally upset that Shi Yan had left her stranded at the hotel. Their heated exchange escalated until Shi Yan, exasperated, blamed her beauty for attracting unwanted attention. But as Zheng Shuyi playfully pouted, Shi Yan couldn’t resist any longer—he pulled her into a passionate kiss right there in the elevator. Even though Zheng Shuyi was flushed with embarrassment, she coyly suggested that Shi Yan kiss her again.
Shi Yan, intent on ensuring Zheng Shuyi got some rest, brushed aside her playful request for a kiss and firmly guided her into the room. As he was about to leave, he unexpectedly ran into Qin Shiyue in the hotel lobby. She casually mentioned she was in Fucheng for the chip conference, and Shi Yan, surprised to hear she was accompanied by Guan Ji, encouraged her to make the most of her studies.
Shi Yan had planned to introduce Zheng Shuyi to his niece, Qin Lezhi, but Zheng Shuyi, clearly uninterested, cited work as her excuse for declining. Shi Yan’s disappointment was palpable, but he respected her decision, even as he couldn’t shake his curiosity about her sudden aversion to meeting family.
After wrapping up his work, Shi Yan joined Guan Ji and Yu You for a small gathering. As they chatted, Guan Ji noticed Shi Yan engrossed in replying to messages and couldn’t help but ask if he was seeing someone. Shi Yan revealed he was indeed taken but remained tight-lipped about his girlfriend's identity, stating he’d reveal more when she was ready. Intrigued, Guan Ji pressed for details on their romance, to which Shi Yan quipped that while his girlfriend might have flirted with the wrong person before, he’d definitely found the right one.
The conversation turned to Yu You's love life, and he confessed with a rueful smile that the person he truly wanted was uninterested, while the one who was interested wasn’t right for him. Yu You reflected on how genuine emotional connections should be mutual, not something to be forced or solved like a problem.
Zheng Shuyi was on edge about encountering Shi Yan's niece, Qin Lezhi, fearing that Shi Yan might realize her true motive was retaliation. Determined to avoid an awkward confrontation, she cleverly devised a plan. As they arrived at the chip conference, Zheng Shuyi urged Shi Yan to enter first, under the guise of meeting a friend. Once he was inside, she discreetly slipped away, only to rejoin him later in the lecture hall, hoping to keep her motives hidden and avoid any unexpected run-ins.
At the chip conference, Zheng Shuyi didn’t spot Qin Lezhi, but did cross paths with Qin Shiyue. Their brief conversation was cut short as Qin Shiyue, visibly flustered, quickly made her way over to Yu You. Upon greeting him, Yu You’s eyes flashed with jealousy as he learned that Qin Shiyue had arrived in Fucheng with Guan Ji. The tension between the trio was palpable, adding an unexpected layer of intrigue to the event.
When Zheng Shuyi entered the lecture hall, her presence instantly caught the eyes of Shi Yan, Yu You, and Yi Yang. Each of them vied for her attention, urging her to sit with them. Overwhelmed and blushing, Zheng Shuyi chose to settle next to Shi Yan, citing his personal invitation as her reason. Determined to be close to her, Yi Yang rearranged his seating, positioning himself right beside Zheng Shuyi. Meanwhile, Shi Yan, unwilling to share, boldly grasped Zheng Shuyi’s hand in a public display of possessiveness, making their connection unmistakably clear.
While Yu You was grabbing coffee, he unexpectedly bumped into Qin Shiyue. Seizing the chance to deepen their connection, Qin Shiyue requested Yu You to call her "Xiaoyue" from now on. Though Yu You hesitated at first, he soon took the initiative to buy an extra coffee for Qin Shiyue. Her face lit up with joy, touched by the small yet meaningful gesture.
At the chip conference, Guan Ji spotted Bi Ruoshan and her team conducting interviews. Eager to spend time with her, he offered to escort her to the guest area, but Bi Ruoshan declined, citing professionalism. During the event, Zheng Shuyi began to feel unwell and decided to head back to the hotel. Shi Yan quickly arranged for her to be taken back to rest. When Shi Yan learned during the banquet's intermission that Zheng Shuyi had returned to the hotel seeking painkillers, he rushed back to check on her. Finding Zheng Shuyi tossing and turning, unable to sleep, he gently comforted her, his presence a soothing balm. As Shi Yan coaxed her, Zheng Shuyi gradually relaxed and drifted off, grateful for his unwavering care.
Zheng Shuyi jolted awake to the relentless ringing of her mother’s phone call, her mother’s voice pushing her yet again to go out to eat and catch a movie with Yu You. Despite Zheng Shuyi's firm insistence that she had her own preferences and was uninterested in Yu You, her mother remained unconvinced. From the other side of the room, Shi Yan overheard the conversation and teased Zheng Shuyi, asking if her family was pressuring her into another blind date. Flustered, Zheng Shuyi was forced to clarify that the discussion was actually about choosing a new pet dog, not a romantic rendezvous.
Bi Ruoshan arrived to check on Zheng Shuyi, who was still feeling under the weather, only to find Shi Yan dutifully preparing a comforting lunch for her. Impressed by his thoughtfulness, Bi Ruoshan couldn’t help but commend Shi Yan as the model of a devoted boyfriend. Zheng Shuyi, overwhelmed by Shi Yan's unexpected kindness, grappled with the urge to reveal the truth about her initial motives for approaching him. But Bi Ruoshan cautioned her against confession, questioning whether Zheng Shuyi was ready for the fallout if Shi Yan discovered the deception and chose to end their relationship.
Shi Yan made a special visit to Professor Li, seeking his support to elevate Le'an Technology's chip innovations to new heights in China. Professor Li, impressed by Chen Kang’s reputation, agreed to explore a collaboration with Le'an, promising a valuable exchange of knowledge and resources in his laboratory.
Meanwhile, Zheng Shuyi received an invitation from Senior Chen of her university to attend a wedding on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year. She eagerly accepted, but her excitement was tempered when she discovered that Yue Xingzhou would be attending with none other than Qin Lezhi.
After the chip conference, Zheng Shuyi arranged for Qin Shiyue to head back and draft a summary. Despite diligently taking notes, Qin Shiyue was still puzzled by many details. Sensing this, Yu You stepped in with a strategic approach: he advised Qin Shiyue to focus on grasping the overarching trends in the chip industry and to highlight key terms for further investigation. With a plan in place, Yu You extended an invitation for Qin Shiyue to leave together, offering both guidance and companionship.
Unable to sleep despite a full day's rest, Zheng Shuyi was taken out by Shi Yan for a movie to soothe her restlessness. As she enjoyed the film, she shared her movie tickets on WeChat. Qin Shiyue, mistaking the post for a father-daughter outing, envied Zheng Shuyi's time with her father. To her surprise, Shi Yan liked Zheng Shuyi's post. This unexpected gesture led Qin Shiyue to suspect that her uncle’s unusual late-night like might hint at unspoken feelings for Zheng Shuyi.
Concerned that Yu You might be out late with Zheng Shuyi, Qin Shiyue decided to check on him personally. She hovered anxiously outside his hotel room, struggling to find a reason to knock. Her furtive behavior caught the attention of the hotel front desk, who promptly alerted Yu You and Guan Ji to ensure their safety. Noticing Qin Shiyue’s uneasy presence, Guan Ji opened the door and inquired about her intentions. Despite the probing, Qin Shiyue kept her reasons to herself, her true motives remaining shrouded in mystery.
Late into the night, Guan Ji tracked down Bi Ruoshan, determined to confront their deepening relationship issues. Disturbed by her recent distance, he poured out his heart, revealing that his feelings for her were far from casual. Admitting his lack of experience in sustaining a long-term relationship and his wavering confidence, Guan Ji expressed how Bi Ruoshan's evasions had only solidified her importance in his life. He confessed that while he was grappling with his own doubts, he needed her to stop avoiding him so they could both reflect on their future. Bi Ruoshan agreed to face him openly but insisted she too required time to sort through her own uncertainties.
After their movie night, Shi Yan drove Zheng Shuyi back to the hotel, only to be spotted by Bi Ruoshan and Guan Ji. Bi Ruoshan nonchalantly claimed that her encounter with Guan Ji was purely coincidental. Zheng Shuyi, on the other hand, brushed off her meeting with Shi Yan as a mere chance encounter. Shi Yan's irritation flared at Zheng Shuyi's evasiveness, feeling her secrecy about their relationship was unjust. Meanwhile, to test if Yu You had indeed been with Zheng Shuyi, Qin Shiyue orchestrated a chance encounter at the same movie. However, Yu You, preoccupied with his tight schedule, suggested Qin Shiyue get some rest instead.
Qin Shiyue turned down Shi Yan’s invitation to attend the summit forum and instead decided to explore the company’s exhibition hall on her own. There, she unexpectedly crossed paths with Yi Yang, who was determined to share the highlights of the previous day's forum with Zheng Shuyi. However, to Yi Yang’s surprise, Shi Yan had already sent Zheng Shuyi the forum recording. Seizing the opportunity to spend more time with Zheng Shuyi, Yi Yang invited her to join him at the summit forum, hoping to captivate her attention and make his move.
At the summit forum, the excitement reached a fever pitch as Yi Yang took the stage for a high-stakes speech. To everyone’s surprise, Shi Yan was also called up for an interview, creating an electrifying moment of intense scrutiny. The host posed a provocative question about the rivalry between Le'an and Dark Horse. Both Yi Yang and Shi Yan responded with polished composure, framing the competition as a gentleman’s duel where the ultimate winner, whether Le'an or Dark Horse, would offer little advantage to consumers. Shi Yan added a tantalizing twist, asserting that even if Dark Horse emerged victorious, Le'an would still be pleased with the outcome. Yet, his confident declaration that Yunchuang remained steadfast in its belief in Le'an left the audience buzzing with anticipation.
As the summit forum wrapped up, Shi Yan was about to whisk Zheng Shuyi away for a lunch date when Yi Yang suddenly appeared, intercepting them with a dramatic flair. Without missing a beat, Shi Yan boldly declared his relationship with Zheng Shuyi, revealing them as a couple. Yi Yang, never one to be overshadowed, shot back with a confident admission of his pursuit of Zheng Shuyi. Tension crackled in the air as Yi Yang challenged Shi Yan to a gentleman’s duel over Zheng Shuyi. But Shi Yan remained unflappable, asserting that Zheng Shuyi was no pawn in their rivalry—she had every right to choose whom she wanted, free from their competition. The stage was set for an intense showdown, with Zheng Shuyi caught in the middle of this high-stakes drama.
After the forum concluded, Qin Shiyue eagerly awaited Yu You at the venue's exit. With a bright smile, she extended an invitation for lunch, and to her delight, Yu You accepted with genuine enthusiasm. Seizing the opportunity, Qin Shiyue saw this as a chance to forge a deeper connection, determined to bridge the gap between them. Even if Yu You harbored no romantic expectations, Qin Shiyue’s resolve remained unshaken—she was set on pursuing him, unwilling to back down from her quest for a closer bond.
Shi Yan boldly declared that the fierce rivalry between Le'an and Dark Horse might lead to loss, and Yunchuang could falter in its investments. Yet, he remained undaunted, confident that even in defeat, he would rise again. Zheng Shuyi, unwavering in her support, vowed to stand by Shi Yan through every twist of fate, be it triumph or setback. Together, they pledged to confront whatever challenges lay ahead, their bond solidifying in the face of uncertainty.
The old shareholders of Yunchuang dismissed Shi Yan’s and Yu You’s investments as mere trifles, but Shi Yan and his allies saw a far grander vision. They believed that the aggregation's cutting-edge R&D in core technologies could spark a slow but powerful growth, potentially surpassing even Zhanlan. This bold gamble, they insisted, might well turn Yunchuang Investment into a colossal success story, seizing the chance for a game-changing victory.
As the Chinese New Year approached, Shi Yan took charge, arranging for Chen Sheng to prepare lavish New Year’s goods, including a special package for Zheng Shuyi’s family. Eager to share the festive spirit, Shi Yan invited Zheng Shuyi to join him for a New Year's dinner. However, Zheng Shuyi was apprehensive, fearing both Shi Yan's generosity and the possibility of her deception being revealed. She confided in Bi Ruoshan, who warned her that Shi Yan’s reaction could be detrimental. If Shi Yan discovered her deceit while their relationship was still fragile, it could spell disaster for their future together.
DramaZen's Opinion
The new character is infuriating! Yi Yang is so disrespectful—he barges into others' relationships with zero regard. His arrogance is off the charts; he acts like he's the gift of humanity, but honestly, he's not even close to being attractive. Seriously, he’s not cut out to be the antagonist. Yu You would be a far better fit! Despite the annoyance of this character, the progress with our main couple is exciting.
And don't even get me started on "Pastor Ex" popping up, preaching about 'turning back from the wrong path'—like, give me a break! 😂😂
Taking relationship advice from friends without knowing what you truly want can lead to disaster. If Shu Yi keeps this up, she might end up sabotaging her own relationship. It’s as if every word she says now is shrouded in deception. I’ve been puzzled by Shi Yan's sudden distance, and now the pieces are falling into place. It’s high time she uncovers the truth about the real niece and faces the reality of her situation.
Episode 24 has me on edge, wondering if it’s time for a confession. If she’s this worried, maybe it’s better to come clean now. If it works out, fantastic; if not, it’s better to end things sooner rather than let them drag on and cause even more pain. She’s doubting everything again, but she’s wrong—he values her too much to give up, despite what her so-called friend says. He’s confused about why he fell for her, but he’s not going to change; he adores her even with all her quirks and tantrums. It’s her own lack of confidence and constant worry that’s clouding her judgment.
