Zheng Shuyi arrived at the concert venue, dressed to the nines and eagerly awaiting Shi Yan. But to her surprise, it was Qin Shiyue who appeared before her, claiming an invitation to the show. The realization struck Zheng Shuyi that she had mistaken Qin Shiyue for Shi Yan. Annoyed at her blunder but determined not to let it ruin her night, she reluctantly accepted Qin Shiyue’s company for Song Lelan’s performance. Little did she know, Shi Yan was also in the audience, adding an unexpected twist to the evening.

During the concert, as the vibrant melodies played, Zheng Shuyi and Qin Shiyue engaged in a candid discussion about her tumultuous past with a deceitful ex. Zheng Shuyi revealed how her former lover was more interested in her wealthy connections than in her, and how she discovered that his younger uncle wasn't so bad after all. Enthralled by the drama and intrigue, Qin Shiyue enthusiastically backed Zheng Shuyi’s bold plan to pursue the rich uncle, eager to see where this new opportunity might lead.

After the breathtaking performance, Qin Shiyue spotted Yu You in the crowd and seized the chance to ask her mother, Song Lelan, for some exclusive, limited-edition records as a gift for Yu You. As Yu You and Zheng Shuyi crossed paths, they eagerly scheduled an interview for the following week. Meanwhile, Shi Yan, who happened to witness their encounter, misinterpreted the meeting as a casual concert outing between the two.

Fueled by jealousy, Shi Yan initially decided to ignore Zheng Shuyi as she hobbled into a taxi alone. But when he spotted her struggling with a sprained foot, his resolve crumbled, and he found himself driving her to the hospital. Once there, Zheng Shuyi playfully blamed Shi Yan for her predicament, insisting that his negligence had left her unable to walk. In a bold move, Shi Yan swept Zheng Shuyi into his arms, determined to carry her to the examination room.

Feigning greater pain to tug at Shi Yan's heartstrings, Zheng Shuyi exaggerated her discomfort. However, when Shi Yan overheard her and the doctor criticizing his apparent indifference, he decided to make a dramatic gesture. He instructed the nurse to wheel Zheng Shuyi out of the hospital, hoping to make her feel even more cared for. Unbeknownst to Shi Yan, Zheng Shuyi was secretly relieved that her minor injury would remain a secret, sparing her from revealing that she was fine and missing out on the chance to be treated like a princess by Shi Yan.

On the drive back, Guan Ji asked Shi Yan to reach out to his ex-girlfriend for a filming opportunity. Shi Yan, in a fit of frustration, vented about his ex’s lackluster acting skills, making an awkward contrast with the talent in the car. Zheng Shuyi’s face flushed with embarrassment at his blunt remarks.

After dropping Zheng Shuyi off, Shi Yan headed to dinner with his sister, Song Lelan, and her daughter. There, he learned from Qin Shiyue that Zheng Shuyi had invited her to the concert that evening. Realizing his misunderstanding about Zheng Shuyi and Yu You, Shi Yan felt a pang of regret. Qin Shiyue, sensing a shift in her uncle’s demeanor, suspected he might be smitten. Determined to uncover the mystery, she set out to discover the identity of the woman who had captured Shi Yan's heart.

Zheng Shuyi, with a hint of mischief, inquired about the hospital expenses, subtly fishing for Shi Yan’s response. Seizing the moment, Shi Yan added Zheng Shuyi on WeChat. With a playful twinkle in her eye, Zheng Shuyi suggested that Shi Yan treat her to dinner the following night. As Shi Yan considered the upcoming banquet, a spark of intrigue ignited. He decided to extend an invitation to Zheng Shuyi, not just for dinner, but as his date to the lavish event.

The next day, while shopping for a stunning outfit for the dinner, Zheng Shuyi had an unexpected encounter with her ex, Yue Xingzhou, and his new girlfriend, Qin Lezhi. She quickly updated Qin Shiyue, who rushed to her side for support.

In a twist of fate, both Zheng Shuyi and Qin Lezhi found themselves trying on the same dress. Zheng Shuyi, with her radiant complexion and graceful figure, effortlessly outshone Qin Lezhi, who seethed with envy. As Qin Lezhi continued to try on clothes, it became clear that Zheng Shuyi wore everything with far more elegance.

Determined to outshine Zheng Shuyi, Qin Lezhi demanded that Yue Xingzhou buy every item she fancied. But Zheng Shuyi’s fortunes took a turn for the better when Qin Shiyue arrived at the store, decisively purchasing the dresses Zheng Shuyi had tried on. The move not only bolstered Zheng Shuyi's confidence but also sent Qin Lezhi into a furious spiral.

Qin Lezhi seethed with frustration after Yue Xingzhou failed to buy her the clothes she wanted. He tried to soothe her by promising a grand shopping spree in the future, once her uncle arranged his job at Mingyu. But the tension didn't end there.

When Zheng Shuyi arrived home, she was pleasantly surprised to find Shi Yan waiting to pick her up. His heartfelt compliment, praising her stunning appearance, left her beaming with joy. As they arrived at the banquet venue, Zheng Shuyi was taken aback to discover that she had been invited to an esteemed elder's family gathering.

Navigating the elegant affair alongside Shi Yan, Zheng Shuyi couldn’t help but notice the curious glances and whispers from the other guests. Rumors quickly began to swirl, hinting that she might be Shi Yan’s new love interest. The evening was electric with speculation, adding an unexpected thrill to their night out.

Seeing Zheng Shuyi earlier had unsettled Yue Xingzhou, causing him to reconsider his plans. Driven by newfound doubts, he reached out to Zheng Shuyi, igniting a storm of distress for her. The reappearance of her scumbag ex stirred up old frustrations, leaving Zheng Shuyi grappling with the unsettling reminder of his manipulative ways.

At the banquet, Zheng Shuyi overheard whispers about Shi Yan's emotional turmoil following his breakup with his ex, Beilin. Rumors even suggested that her interest in Shi Yan was motivated solely by his family background, leaving Zheng Shuyi deeply unsettled. When Shi Yan dropped her off, he noticed her distress and pressed her for the reason. Zheng Shuyi admitted she had heard the gossip but insisted she didn’t believe it. She revealed her genuine desire to get to know Shi Yan, which only fueled his excitement. As the tension between them crackled, Shi Yan leaned in for a kiss, but their moment was abruptly interrupted by a passing security guard. Flustered and embarrassed, Zheng Shuyi hurriedly fled the scene.

Zheng Shuyi recounted the day's events to Bi Ruoshan, who listened with a knowing smile. Bi Ruoshan, ever the strategist, suggested that if Zheng Shuyi wanted to spark Shi Yan’s interest, she should make him see that other men were also captivated by her. This, she believed, would compel Shi Yan to step up his game. Meanwhile, Guan Ji, witnessing Bi Ruoshan’s scheming, questioned whether such manipulations risked genuine connections. With a confident smirk, Bi Ruoshan replied that her only fear was not ensnaring someone who could truly escape her charms.

In a high-stakes meeting, Shi Yan assessed the potential of investing in Zhanlan. The evaluation team, though acknowledging the investment's risks, projected promising returns for Yunchuang. Shareholders were abuzz with optimism about Zhanlan’s future in the solid-state battery sector. Despite his reservations, Shi Yan, swayed by the collective enthusiasm, authorized the continuation of research and evaluation efforts.

Later, in a private discussion with Guan Ji and Yu You, Shi Yan expressed his concern that Zhanlan might prioritize scaling up production over advancing R&D. Determined to uncover the truth, he decided to conduct his own investigation into the company's true intentions.

Zheng Shuyi’s weekend plans were abruptly thrown into disarray when her mother insisted on a blind date. Despite her firm criteria for the match, Zheng Shuyi was stunned to discover that the person her mother had in mind perfectly fit her requirements. To her surprise, the match on WeChat turned out to be none other than Yu You. Intrigued by the unexpected twist, Zheng Shuyi agreed to meet Yu You, deciding to approach the encounter as a friendly outing rather than a serious date.

Tang Yi dropped a bombshell on Zheng Shuyi and Xu Yuling by handing them the coveted financial front page for next month. Despite underlying tensions between them, they reluctantly agreed to the editor’s decree. Later, Tang Yi approached Zheng Shuyi privately with a tempting offer: set her sights on the deputy editor position. However, Zheng Shuyi’s ambitions lay elsewhere—she was fixated on revamping the e-journal, a project that demanded significant financial and manpower resources. Tang Yi suggested she push this vision to the end of the year, advising her to focus first on completing the financial front page and the New Year’s issue. With these critical tasks under her belt, Tang Yi promised to support Zheng Shuyi’s bid to make a compelling case to the editor-in-chief.

Zheng Shuyi was set for her weekend blind date, but she was taken aback when she discovered that her date was none other than Yu You. Yu You, equally surprised, was eager to extend their evening, but Zheng Shuyi, caught up with other plans, declined his offer. Meanwhile, Shi Yan, who had been preoccupied with work, was asked by Zheng Shuyi to retrieve some clothes she had left in his car. Although he initially refused, overwhelmed by his busy schedule, Shi Yan’s concern grew. Determined to make things right, he rushed home to personally prepare a dinner for Zheng Shuyi, eager to make amends and ensure she felt appreciated.

Qin Shiyue called Shi Yan, urging him to come home for dinner, but he brushed it off, claiming he had urgent matters to attend to. When Shi Yan's father inquired if his son was seeing an actress, Shi Yan clarified that his date wasn’t an actress—just someone with a flair for drama.

Just as Shi Yan finished preparing an elaborate dinner, Zheng Shuyi arrived at his doorstep. Surprised by the lavish spread, she eagerly accepted his offer to dine together, unaware that Shi Yan himself had meticulously crafted the meal. Zheng Shuyi savored every bite, oblivious to the personal touch behind it. As soon as dinner concluded, Zheng Shuyi hurriedly grabbed her clothes and rushed off, leaving Shi Yan alone with his unspoken sentiments.

Tang had arranged for Zheng Shuyi to travel to Wucheng for an international forum, and she was buzzing with anticipation. Before her trip, Zheng Shuyi returned the expensive clothes Qin Shiyue had bought in a bid to outshine her. Meanwhile, Qin Shiyue, curious about Zheng Shuyi's new assignment and determined to learn more about Yu You, covertly enrolled in Yu You's finance class at the University of Finance and Economics.

After the lecture, Qin Shiyue boldly approached Yu You, requesting to add him on WeChat. She introduced herself as an intern reporter for a financial agency, feigning interest in his class. Despite noticing her distracted demeanor during the lecture, Yu You remained unaware of her true intentions and welcomed the opportunity to discuss finance further.

Zheng Shuyi was fuming after the Yan family abruptly whisked Shi Yan away last time, leaving her feeling overlooked. Seeking advice, she turned to Bi Ruoshan, who concocted a daring plan. Bi Ruoshan suggested that Zheng Shuyi flood her WeChat Moments with tantalizing snapshots from her business trip, subtly flaunting the exciting experiences to catch Shi Yan's attention and hint at her current adventures.

Shi Yan’s phone buzzed with a refund notification, and he learned from Qin Shiyue that Zheng Shuyi had returned the clothes he had bought for her. More surprisingly, he discovered that Zheng Shuyi was on a business trip to Wucheng. Meanwhile, Bi Ruoshan was also in Wucheng for work. Guan Ji, eager to arrange a meeting with Bi Ruoshan, found his request abruptly dismissed when she coldly rejected his call, leaving him both perplexed and frustrated.

Guan Xiangcheng, captivated by Zheng Shuyi’s glowing interview with Shi Yan, marveled at how her writing had shifted Shi Yan’s perspective on the media. Impressed, he arranged for Shi Yan to invite Zheng Shuyi to his home for a private conversation. As the first snow of the season blanketed Wucheng, Bi Ruoshan seized the moment, snapping stunning photos of Zheng Shuyi amidst the snowflakes. She eagerly posted the images on Moments, convinced that the enchanting snowfall would lure Shi Yan to Wucheng.

Shi Yan, intrigued by Zheng Shuyi’s social media posts, reached out with exciting news: Guan Xiangcheng wanted to meet her. Thrilled by the chance to secure an interview with the influential figure, Zheng Shuyi immediately decided to rush back to Jiangcheng. Bi Ruoshan, realizing that this interview was precisely what Shi Yan had hoped for, saw an opportunity to persuade Zheng Shuyi to temper her enthusiasm. Despite Bi Ruoshan’s attempts to advise caution, Zheng Shuyi was resolute, booking a flight for the next day with unbridled excitement to seize the interview opportunity.

On her way to Guan Xiangcheng's home, Zheng Shuyi was unexpectedly rear-ended, leaving her stranded with a car battery problem from Zhanlan Technology. When Shi Yan heard about the accident, he rushed to her aid, ensuring she got to her interview safely. Meanwhile, Xu Yuling, keen to secure the spotlight, arranged interviews with vice presidents from three major banks and aimed to hold onto this month's front page for herself. As events unfolded, Tang Yi discovered that Zheng Shuyi was on her way to interview Guan Xiangcheng. Curious, she called to question why Guan Xiangcheng had agreed to the finance interview. Guan Xiangcheng revealed that he was impressed by Zheng Shuyi's incisive writing and had personally arranged for this meeting, intrigued by her skills.

Zheng Shuyi arrived for her much-anticipated interview with Guan Xiangcheng, and their conversation flowed so effortlessly that hours seemed to slip away unnoticed. Just as their engaging discussion reached a crescendo, Shi Yan intervened, suggesting they all continue the evening with a meal together.

During dinner, Zheng Shuyi seized the moment to delve into Shi Yan's childhood, inspired by a tidbit from Guan Xiangcheng about Shi Yan's early passion for horseback riding. Guan Xiangcheng, with his deep knowledge of Shi Yan, shared insights into Shi Yan's character—revealing how he meticulously concealed his emotions and personal sacrifices. He recounted how, after the Mingyu incident, Shi Yan had seamlessly transitioned his responsibilities to his brother-in-law before founding Yunchuang, demonstrating his unwavering dedication.

Guan Xiangcheng, keen to bridge the gap between Shi Yan’s reserved nature and Zheng Shuyi’s curiosity, advised her to engage with Shi Yan more frequently, suggesting that her warmth and conversation could help draw him out of his shell.

As their conversation flowed, Zheng Shuyi slyly mentioned Shi Yan’s intense gaze at the captivating reporter during the Yunchuang press conference. Shi Yan, with a playful smirk, claimed it was merely a tease aimed at her. Seizing the moment, Zheng Shuyi coyly requested Shi Yan’s help peeling shrimp, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

To her surprise, Shi Yan flatly refused, leaving Zheng Shuyi with no choice but to tackle the task herself. As she expertly peeled the shrimp and handed them over, Shi Yan's face lit up with a genuine smile. The unexpected exchange between them added a touch of warmth and playfulness to their evening, leaving both of them secretly pleased.

After their meal, Zheng Shuyi boldly proposed a special project for Yun Chuang, her eyes gleaming with determination. Shi Yan, sensing her deliberate challenge, agreed to her request for an exclusive interview, but not without setting his own terms. As Zheng Shuyi's eyes lit up with excitement at the opportunity, she eagerly agreed to all of Shi Yan’s conditions. Their playful negotiation only deepened the intrigue, setting the stage for a high-stakes collaboration that promised to be anything but ordinary.

The old shareholders of Yunchuang were fervently backing the investment in Zhanlan Technology, swayed by its promising prospects. Yet, the looming shadow of recent new energy vehicle accidents cast a long, risky shadow over solid-state batteries. Shi Yan, ever the strategist, saw through the hype. He knew that investing in the solid-state battery industry demanded not only hefty financial outlays but also meticulous research and comprehensive reporting. Despite Zhanlan's impressive market share, their technology was outdated—lagging behind last year's innovations. Shi Yan's unease grew as he considered the high accident rates; the safety and viability of investing in Zhanlan were far from assured.

Opinion of Only For Love (2023)

The ex's messages are just a joke—can't wait for him to realize he's been duped by a fake! 😂😂 Shi Yue's comeback against that gold-digging wench was epic though! 👏🏼

However, as entertaining as the misunderstandings were initially, they're starting to wear thin. Can the writers move on to a more enjoyable plot line at this point?

The female lead's character keeps plunging deeper into frustration with each episode. What once seemed like mere desperation now reveals itself as a blend of thoughtlessness and cruelty. She dangles mixed signals in front of her senior, leading him on a date without clarifying her disinterest.

After a family dinner where her motives are publicly scrutinized, you'd think she'd pause to reconsider her actions. Yet, she continues to flirt relentlessly, only to shift the conversation to work and what he can do for her whenever they meet. When he finally shuts down the discussion, she devours her food with alarming speed and leaves abruptly, showing no genuine interest in him whatsoever.

I’m torn about their chemistry—it’s there, but it’s fizzling out fast. Honestly, her best friend has better sparks with her guy, even though she's been so distant with Guan. I’m sticking with this show just to see it through, even though the tech jargon is completely over my head.

The flirting is getting really repetitive, though. At least Uncle Guan managed to get Shi Yan to open up a bit, so maybe there’s hope for some progress. But I’m really getting frustrated with the FL constantly bringing up the special interview. It’s starting to seem like she’s only using her charm to snag that exclusive, and it’s becoming pretty irritating.
