Buried Hearts- (Final) Episodes 15-16
Power Shifts, Public Scandals, and a Disappearing Villain
What do you get when revenge, legacy, and billion-won secrets collide on a rooftop? A full-throttle, high-stakes Buried Hearts episode that sets the chessboard for the final battle. Episode 15 is pure K-drama gold: dramatic press conferences, secret recordings, a brutal family catfight, and one villain’s vanishing act that left us all GASPING. Let’s dive in!
The Rooftop Reveal (Continued)
We pick up right where we left off — Jang-seon ordering Dong-ju to be thrown off the roof — only for that legendary drone footage of his confession to hijack the news cycle. The world now knows Jang-seon murdered Dong-ju’s sister.
Does Jang-seon care? Barely. Cold as ever, he shrugs it off and blames Il-do’s death on Dong-ju for encouraging him to defy him. (Delusional much?)
Fallout, Family Tensions & CEO Ambitions
The scandal is viral, and the Cha family is shook. News breaks that Dong-ju hacked into the 2 trillion won slush fund, and Chairman Cha isn’t happy.
Meanwhile, Dong-ju rushes to check on Won-bae, who’s in rough shape but still loyal. (Protect this man at all costs!)
Over at Jang-seon’s lair, The Elder is waiting. He warns Jang-seon not to touch Dong-ju until the money is recovered. So what does Jang-seon offer instead?
π Full access to Daesan Group. (Big move. Bigger red flag.)
Guk-hui & Sug-yeong Stir the Pot
Elsewhere, Cha Guk-hui teams up with Assemblywoman Seok Sug-yeong to launch a financial investigation into Daesan Energy’s slush fund. The target? Dong-ju.
Ji Yeong-su gleefully passes this intel to Jang-seon. Together, they plot to pin it all on Dong-ju using Chairman Cha’s secret vault records. (But will Seon-u fall for it?) Spoiler: Nope — he already knows the truth.
A Sister Remembered & A Bold Demand
Dong-ju visits his sister’s grave, where a flashback reminds us how Yeong-ju encouraged him to keep living, even when he gave up. He promises her he’ll end it all soon. π’
Then he pulls off a shocker:
π He tells Chairman Cha to make him CEO of Daesan Energy.
(And you know what? He’s earned it.)
Hair-Pulling, Hypocrisy & Hidden Motives
Back at the Cha house, things get messy. Ji Yeong-su demands Deok-hui support her as chairman of the family’s foundation. Deok-hui’s response?
π¬ “Absolutely not.”
Then… she pulls Yeong-su’s hair.
Yep. We got a catfight — and Seon-u watches silently through a glass door like he's in a Shakespearean tragedy.
Power Plays & Strategic Flashbacks
Dong-ju warns the chairman that Jang-seon has always wanted Daesan — and reminds him how Jang-seon once blocked oil imports and nearly tanked the company.
Flashback time! Dong-ju met with The Elder and proved he controlled the National Patriotic Fund — in exchange, he asked for the Elder’s help to unlock those oil imports.
Present day? Dong-ju asks the chairman to consider all this. He later runs into Eun-nam, who urges him to walk away from it all. But Dong-ju’s not done. And Eun-nam? She reveals she knows who his father was.
Press Conferences & Public War
Jang-seon keeps scheming. Ji Yeong-su gives him records from Chairman Cha’s vault. Their plan? Convince the public and Seon-u that Dong-ju will prioritize his half-brother, Tae-yun.
Meanwhile, Dong-ju is three steps ahead.
He hosts a press conference:
π€ Claims someone’s blocking the National Fund investigation
π€ Drops new evidence linking Jang-seon to Sister Agnes’ death
So what does Jang-seon do?
π Tells the world Chairman Cha has dementia and that Dong-ju is manipulating him.
(The drama NEVER lets up.)
Stock Crashes, Strategic Plays & a Surprise Arrest
Daesan’s stock tanks. Flashback reveals: Yeong-su gave Jang-seon proof of Chairman Cha’s condition. Now Jang-seon plans to buy up shares.
But Dong-ju’s ready. He proposes a tender offer to protect the company. Chairman Cha agrees, and Dong-ju gathers the funds with help from Madame Pi and Tae-geum (whose dad, turns out, was a financial legend).
Later, Chairman Cha suffers another memory lapse, even forgetting who Choi Gi-hyeon is. Things are unraveling fast.
Then suddenly — BOOM — Jang-seon is arrested for Il-do’s murder.
But The Elder steps in, has the warrant denied, and sends Jang-seon home. Or… so he thinks.
The Disappearance
As Jang-seon sips wine, he gets into a car — driven by none other than Dong-ju.
The car stops. Dong-ju injects him with something.
Cut to black.
π’ BREAKING NEWS:
Yeom Jang-seon has been missing for a month.
π And that’s how Buried Hearts Episode 15 ends.
Chains, Choices & One Last Kiss at the Shore
After weeks of revenge, revelations, and soul-shaking drama, Buried Hearts closes the curtain on its final chapter with an episode that delivers everything — poetic justice, emotional healing, and a send-off that’ll stay with us for a long, long time. From nightmares and secret vaults to heartfelt goodbyes and shocking betrayals, Episode 16 is the mic-drop finale this story deserved. Let’s dive into every brilliant, bittersweet moment.
Ghosts, Guns & One Very Loud Conscience
We open with Dong-ju jolting awake from a nightmare where Jang-seon kills him. His reflex? Grab the gun under his bed. But then — a vision of Il-do appears, urging him to let go. The message?
π¬ “You’ve already won. Be happy with Eun-nam.”
(Cue emotional damage.)
A Month Later… and Secrets Behind Walls
It’s been one month since Jang-seon vanished, and Dong-ju is being followed by Gu-ho, who still suspects something's up.
Meanwhile, Dong-ju is nearly crowned CEO of Daesan Energy after going head-to-head with Guk-hui. His first big move? Proposing a merger with Daesan Chemical to form Daesan E&C. Boss moves only.
Eun-nam, Vaults & The Burgers That Bite Back
Eun-nam, now on Daesan’s board (QUEEN π), congratulates Dong-ju... and then casually asks if he killed Jang-seon. Dong-ju doesn’t answer, but her response?
π¬ “Good job.”
(Y’all. I gasped.)
Later, in the secret vault, Dong-ju deposits a mysterious burger package. Behind the wall, a hand reaches out and grabs it. Yes, friends — Jang-seon has been ALIVE this entire time, chained in a tiny room behind the vault, eating burgers and stewing in karma. π±π
One Year Later… and Some Seriously Shaky Reunions
Fast-forward a year. Dong-ju is still getting burgers delivered. Gu-ho still watches. Guk-hui is thriving as Daesan Volt’s CEO. And Bo-yeon finally lets go, telling Dong-ju about his past and gifting him a photo of herself with little Dong-ju. It’s tender and tear-inducing. π₯Ί
But it gets darker…
Jang-seon, now broken and gray, begs Dong-ju to kill him, only to learn Dong-ju already has everything — including his fortune.
Oh, and that window he opens in the vault?
π It’s unlocked now.
π He escapes…
π Only to find his mansion is now a kindergarten. π
Memories, Guilt & Goodbye
Meanwhile, Chairman Cha’s dementia worsens, and Dong-ju begins to question everything. The revenge is complete… but he’s lost in the gray between right and wrong.
So, he does the unthinkable:
π Gives Eun-nam the vault code.
π Names her as Daesan’s future.
π Says goodbye.
At the shore, Eun-nam calls out one last time. Dong-ju turns around for one final kiss, then walks toward the sea, violin in hand, ready to find peace. π
Oh, But the Pain Isn’t Over Yet…
At the Cha house, Tae-yun and Seon-u bond — or so it seems. They chat over coffee, with Tae-yun texting Dong-ju that maybe Seon-u is the right heir after all.
Seconds later?
π₯ Seon-u pushes Tae-yun off a wall.
(GASP. Again.)
Final Montage of Feels

Jang-seon ends up back in prison. Justice.

Dong-ju scatters Il-do’s ashes, bringing their story full circle.

Yeong-su and Seon-u pose with Chairman Cha.
-
Guk-hui runs Daesan Volt with grace.

Deok-hui, sick and grieving, fades away.
-
And Eun-nam paints a new image of the yacht — this time, with two figures.

She whispers:
π¬ “Even if not forever… come back for a little while.”
(And yes, we cried again.)
DramaZen's Opinion
A Wild Finale Worthy of the Drama Gods π₯
Okay WOW. Episodes 15 and 16 of Buried Hearts were the emotional, twisty, revenge-soaked feast we’ve been waiting for — and then some!
Let’s start with Dong-ju locking Jang-seon in a vault dungeon for over a YEAR?? ICONIC. Honestly, who needs court justice when you have secret rooms and burger deliveries? ππ
Chairman Cha’s dementia arc was surprisingly tender (the bakery scene π₯Ί), Tae-yun’s whole “Is this even my calling?” dilemma gave us life, and don’t get me started on Seon-u suddenly flipping the switch and shoving him off a cliff??We gasped. We yelled. We rewound.
And Dong-ju walking off into the sea after one final kiss with Eun-nam? Heart-wrenching. Beautiful. Cinematic. π»π
It's not exactly the ending that i would have chosen, but I kind of get it...π
10/10 for the drama, chaos, poetic revenge, and that bittersweet goodbye.
