Episode 33 Recap: Love, Regrets, and Tearful Goodbyes

What an emotional rollercoaster! The latest episode packed in all the feels, with friendships, relationships, and bittersweet goodbyes taking center stage.

Yu Dule wrapped up his long editing project just in time for a celebration, but instead of joining in, he ducked out to avoid facing Guan Xingxin. Talk about unresolved tension! Meanwhile, Gu Yi couldn’t help but tease Liang Daiwen about how he seemed to have won over all her mother’s friends and even her father’s attention. The back-and-forth banter between them? Adorable as always. 💕

The real heartbreaker came with Yu Dule’s birthday. Gu Yi planned a thoughtful party for her friend, complete with a heartfelt cake, but the room was buzzing with awkward energy when Guan Xingxin arrived. Yu Dule, too hurt to even acknowledge her, focused on his friends, leaving Guan Xingxin feeling guilty and out of place. Gu Yi, ever the mediator, encouraged the two to finally talk things through, and Guan Xingxin admitted she had been selfish in their relationship, projecting her struggles with her family onto Yu Dule. But when Yu Dule calmly said he had no hope left for their relationship, it was ouch—gut-punch territory. 😭

Guan Xingxin’s quiet decision to leave the relationship, supported by Liang Daiwen, was bittersweet. Sometimes love just doesn’t win.

Amid the heartbreak, Gu Yi found some solace with Liang Daiwen. After a drunken night (and a morning filled with awkward misunderstandings over changed clothes—classic Gu Yi!), the couple finally settled into their shared home again. Liang Daiwen transformed their space into something straight out of a Pinterest dream board, complete with a fridge stocked with food and heart-shaped photo collages. Domestic bliss, anyone? 🥰

Meanwhile, Mr. Huang made a heartfelt return to patch things up with Zhang Junjie. Their conversation was dripping with nostalgia and regret. Mr. Huang admitted to longing for their simpler past and wanting to erase the bitterness between them, but Zhang Junjie wasn’t so sure. It was raw, messy, and oh-so-real.

As Gu Yi revisited her mother’s house, she found herself reminiscing and feeling her mother’s quiet blessings. But the real tearjerker came when Gu Yi walked into Liang Daiwen’s home and saw the wall of photos and the word "囍" (happiness) displayed. Cue happy sobbing! Liang Daiwen promised never to take their love lightly, making it all the more moving.

But then came the gut-punch goodbye—Zhang Junjie announced his resignation. Gu Yi and the team were devastated, and watching Zhang Junjie tearfully say farewell to his colleagues was heartbreaking. His words, “There is no endless banquet in life,” hit hard. He left the stage quietly, but not without leaving a mark on everyone.

This episode had it all: tender moments, emotional revelations, and heartfelt farewells. With Gu Yi and Liang Daiwen’s relationship taking a step forward and bittersweet closures for others, it’s the kind of storytelling that leaves you crying and smiling. Can’t wait to see what’s next! 💔✨

Episode 34 Recap: Heartfelt Confessions, Emotional Growth, and a Romantic Finale

This episode was an emotional whirlwind, weaving through love, regret, and new beginnings. It served up heartfelt moments and tied up loose ends with a satisfying and oh-so-romantic conclusion.

We started with Zhang Junjie revisiting a bittersweet memory—his wedding ring box. The flashbacks were gut-wrenching as he remembered choosing to have an abortion due to health reasons and vowing to be a strong, independent woman afterward. Enter Mr. Huang, who stumbled upon the truth of their past. Wracked with guilt, he admitted his mistakes but told Zhang Junjie he would leave Beijing and not interfere in her life again. The tension, the longing—just chef’s kiss drama!

Meanwhile, Gu Yi was hilariously flustered over Liang Daiwen’s sudden proposal, describing it as more “hooligan” than romantic. Guan Xingxin, always the wise friend, encouraged Gu Yi to address relationship matters openly and even reflected on her own mistakes, acknowledging that hiding the truth about her parents created irreversible damage with Yu Dole.

Xu Guanrui also dropped a bombshell by announcing his departure, aiming to travel the world and embrace new perspectives. His heartfelt conversation with Gu Yi over fairy sticks on the roadside was bittersweet, but his acknowledgment of letting go of unrequited love was a moment of mature closure.

The romance department saw Guan Xingxin preparing an array of gifts for Yu Dole, claiming it was her “final” gesture. Yu Dole, overwhelmed by her thoughtfulness, realized how much he cared for her. Meanwhile, Gu Yi’s clumsy attempt to secretly research “how to run a family” was interrupted by Liang Daiwen’s curious arrival, leaving her scrambling to hide her efforts. Adorable chaos ensued, and their dynamic was as sweet as ever.

Then came the grand gestures! Yu Dole surprised Guan Xingxin with a cart full of flowers and expressed his deep commitment to their relationship, emphasizing the importance of seizing the moment. Cue the collective swooning.

Finally, the highlight of the episode: Gu Yi took the stage on Qi Pa Shuo and publicly confessed her love for Liang Daiwen. In a tender moment that melted hearts everywhere, Gu Yi proposed to Liang Daiwen on stage, flipping the script. And guess what? Liang Daiwen smiled—yes, smiled!—and said yes. The couple’s happiness was sealed with applause and blessings from everyone, including their friends and audience members. It was a perfect, feel-good ending.

This episode delivered on all fronts—emotional resolutions, romantic crescendos, and moments of personal growth. It left us cheering for Gu Yi, Liang Daiwen, and the entire gang. A perfect bow on an unforgettable journey! 💍❤️

The Grand Finale We All Deserved!

OMG, the last two episodes of this show were an emotional rollercoaster that left me crying, laughing, and clapping like a proud bestie. Honestly, I wasn’t ready for the level of closure, romance, and heartwarming moments they gave us—it was perfection!

First off, Zhang Junjie’s story absolutely shattered me. Her quiet strength and the truth behind her abortion broke my heart, and seeing her finally confront her feelings with Mr. Huang was raw and real. Mr. Huang’s guilt was palpable, but I loved that Zhang Junjie stayed true to her independence while still embracing the humanity of their shared past. That’s growth, queen!

Then there’s Gu Yi, who once again had me in stitches with her chaotic yet endearing nature. Her flustered reaction to Liang Daiwen’s “casual hooligan” proposal was pure comedy gold, but also so relatable. Who wouldn’t be thrown off by such an unexpected move? But the way she processed her emotions and came full circle with a public reverse proposalwas EVERYTHING. And Liang Daiwen smiling for her? Talk about a moment to replay on loop forever.

Let’s not forget Guan Xingxin and Yu Dole’s emotional arc. Guan’s self-reflection and gifts for Yu were so tender, but the real magic was watching Yu realize how much she means to him. Their love story felt so real and flawed, but that’s what made it special. Also, can we talk about Yu Dole editing videos of Guan Xingxin while quietly yearning for her? Cue tears.

And can we give a standing ovation to Xu Guanrui? His farewell scene with Gu Yi, complete with fairy sticks and heartfelt honesty, was a bittersweet highlight. Watching him let go and choose his own happiness was a beautiful way to wrap up his arc. From rival to friend, his character evolution was one of my favorites.

The grand finale on Qi Pa Shuo was peak rom-com bliss. Gu Yi boldly confessing her love for Liang Daiwen in front of everyone? Absolute icon behavior. The wall of photos, the playful banter, the shared dreams—it was a perfect reflection of how far they’ve come. I was screaming at the TV when Gu Yi proposed, and when Liang smiled, I LOST IT. That’s love, people!

In the end, this show gave us everything: flawed but lovable characters, heartfelt resolutions, and the kind of romances that make you believe in fate. It was messy, real, and so deeply satisfying. If you haven’t watched it yet, what are you even doing? 💕✨
