Sorry Not Sorry- Episode 7
This week’s episode of Sorry Not Sorry gave us a delightful mix of romantic tension, petty neighborhood drama, and the beginnings of real vulnerability between Song-yi and Hyun-woo. With Yi-ahn still lingering awkwardly in the background and the gaggle mums causing chaos, the stage is set for some major developments in Song-yi’s love life. Let’s dive into the highlights!
Last week’s double kiss from Yi-ahn left Song-yi and him in a painfully awkward stage. Yi-ahn is too embarrassed to talk about it, claiming he doesn’t even remember, and Song-yi, not wanting to make things more uncomfortable, avoids bringing it up. Enter Chan-yang and Hana, who drop by the café for a hilarious “accidental kiss analysis.” Their girlie gossip session is pure fun, with Chan-yang soaking it all in while Hana pokes at Song-yi’s romantic confusion.
As cute as Yi-ahn is, Song-yi can’t quite picture herself in a relationship with him. The idea of being a cringy couple wearing matching outfits is enough to make her laugh (and us, too). Poor Yi-ahn tries to confess his feelings multiple times but keeps getting thwarted by bad luck — from a twisted ankle to a trapped elevator. The universe, it seems, isn’t rooting for him.
The Dumpling Couple, local influencers, have moved into the neighborhood, stirring up a mix of admiration and drama. Even Hana gets swept up in the trend, much to Song-yi’s amusement. But the real highlight comes when one of the gaggle mums tries her hand at influencing, earning herself promotional deals. This doesn’t sit well with head gaggle mum, who secretly leaves hate comments online… only to accidentally use her real username. (Classic!)
The inevitable fallout is a laugh-out-loud moment when the influencer mum confronts her in Song-yi’s café, resulting in a public spat. It’s petty, it’s ridiculous, and it’s everything we’ve come to love about the gaggle mums. The drama even leads Song-yi to take the influencer mum to Hyun-woo for legal advice, where we get an unexpected (and hilarious) glimpse of Hyun-woo dancing at the insistence of his new assistant. Song-yi’s reaction — a mix of laughter and secondhand embarrassment — was all of us.
After helping Hyun-woo land a new client, Song-yi jokingly demands a meal as a reward, leading to another sweet interaction at the beloved Bungeo-ppang stand. Their playful banter and mutual teasing — including Song-yi calling Hyun-woo’s dancing “squid-like” — are exactly the kind of moments we’ve been waiting for.
But things take a more serious turn when Hyun-woo opens up during their heart-to-heart over dinner. He shares the heartbreaking story of his marriage — how his wife went on a trip with her lover on his birthday, and how he chose to ignore her infidelity. Hyun-woo’s raw vulnerability was a gut-punch, and Song-yi’s concern for him was palpable.
Their walk home, with drunken playground antics and Hyun-woo getting stuck in the kiddie bars, was peak rom-com. The close proximity had me rooting for a kiss, but it seems the show is saving that moment for later. When Hyun-woo wakes up the next morning in Song-yi’s bed (in her PJs, no less), he’s adorably confused about what happened.
DramaZen's Opinion
This week’s episode was EVERYTHING! Song-yi and Hyun-woo are slowly killing me with their chemistry — their Bungeo-ppang banter and that playground scene? Swoon. I was practically screaming for them to kiss!
Also, can we take a moment to appreciate how Hyun-woo opened up about his marriage? My heart broke for him, and you could see how much it hit Song-yi, too. These two are such a good balance — her warmth and humor complement his serious, guarded personality perfectly.
As for Yi-ahn… sorry, sweetie, but I don’t see it happening. The maturity gap is just too much, and Song-yi deserves someone who’s on the same wavelength as her.
And the gaggle mums? They were comedy gold this week! That online hate comment debacle had me crying with laughter. I’m loving how the show can balance humor with heartfelt moments so seamlessly.
Bring on next week — I need more Song-yi and Hyun-woo moments ASAP! 💕✨
